Head Coach Raheem Morris & Quarterback Michael Penix Jr post game press conference | Atlanta Falcons
ular fashion in a singular mode. You know, obviously I don’t make those emotional decisions right now on how those things happen. We got to go back and look at the tape. We got to go back and find out what went wrong, but we still had an opportunity to win that football game and we got to find a way to win that one uh for our team, for everybody else, for our fans, and everybody else that’s that’s watching. Could you speak to the play of uh your defense? Got your big turnover right before half and then another one third, early fourth to help back in a little bit. You know, obviously you can find really good points of the team all over the place today and how they played. Um, particularly in the defense, being able to get after the quarterback, get six sacks. You know, obviously having the two turnovers to give us an opportunity to win there. You know, some red zone offense, being able to score touchdowns today and keep us in that football game. But, you know, you got to find a ways to get off the field on third down. You got to find a ways to give you more opportunities to win and we’ll go find those ways uh quick turnaround and be ready to go. Yeah, I think they were 75%, you were 11 on third down. How do you try to get off on third and then keep going on third. You just named it, you know, got to find a way to move the chains on third down and maintain possessions and we got to find a way to get off the grass. It was part of the keys to victory today. Um we’re not able to do that. We did get two turnovers uh to combat that um to to allow us to have an opportunity to try to win that game and we what just came up short. 14 runs 37 times. You talked a lot coming this week. What changed? You know, obviously you got to find a way to win every single game. You know, this team is extraordinary uh extraordinarily good on on on the on the on a on a run game and we had to find a way to win this game. We knew it would come with some quick passing games. We knew it would come some targets to be on whether it was getting the ball quick, letting them run the ball, letting run the football out the back field, but you know, obviously we knew it would be tough selling trying to run the football versus this team. Um and it was and uh we had we found a way to get into the end zone and that’s our job. That’s our requirement each and every week. I don’t yet. I don’t as of right now. not the team came out and fought and um that’s what you that’s what you coach for. That’s what you live for. Um you love the way they was able to go out there and fight. You love the way they was able to go out there and give us an opportunity to win the football game. We just got to find a way to win it. I’m sorry. Um yeah, I mean obviously um it was a lower body injury. We’ll figure all that stuff out with the foot and um I know he came out of it and um we’ll figure it out. No, you know, confidence is another issue with the team. The team came out and fought it. They’ll come out and fight next week. Uh we’ll find ways to get a win. That’s never an issue for us. You know, nothing. That’s the National Football League. You know, these guys, you got to come out and play every single week. You got to find a way to get a win. Um we almost found a way to get a win today. We just fell short. Yeah, we talked about uncommon effort last night and what he did last what he did today was come out and play with uncommon effort and it wasn’t just Drake. It was some men across the board that played that way to try to give us a win versus a very good football team. Um, you know, obviously you’ll go back and evaluate a bunch of things. You’ll look at it all. You know, Mike gave us a chance to win today. He gave us an opportunity. He stood up and played well. He was able to move around in the pocket. He was able to keep himself out of harm’s way. He did a bunch of things that um that we love about Mike. Um he’ll continue to get better and grow as a player. The last drive you had wasn’t ready for a snap. Uh you know, they did a nice job. They simulated a snap. Um the ball came early. Um it was snapped early within that snap. That was when we got the intentional grounding. Um nice job by those guys. Great situation of football. Great play. Hey, clapping simulated our snap. Got us to snap the ball and um that’s why the ball was snapped early on Mike when he wasn’t ready for the snap. Thanks. So, how y’all doing? I’m all right. How tough was uh can you talk about the connection you and Drake had going today that pull y’all back into this one? Yeah, it was great. You know, um obviously he just being the same person he’s been, you know, since I got here, you know, the guy that’s going to make big time plays and big time moments and he did that today and um it was big props to him, you know, but obviously we couldn’t do it without the offensive line and, you know, running backs, tight ends, who all in protection to to give us that time to make those plays. So, and uh we heard on the ground play that they was clapping and Ryan thought it was a clap or Yeah. Yeah. Supposedly uh supposedly they were clapping and um you know for us you know whenever I’m clapping you know that means I want the ball and uh news said he heard them clapping. He thought it was my clap and you know he snapped the ball. Um I threw it I threw the ball in KP’s direction. He had just released on the route. I thought I was going to be okay with the grounding part, but you know, obviously, um, you know, that that wasn’t the case. Mike, how’s this team’s confidence? It was so high coming out of Buffalo, man. It’s still high. It got to be, you know, it’s NFL football. You and we we still we still in it. We still in it. We still got a lot of games to go. And um, you know, I know this team is going to bounce back, you know, like you said, you know, we we did before. So, I I know it’s nothing new to us and we we got to go out there and just make sure each and every day of practice we we give our um 110% effort like we always been always do and you know be ready for this next game coming up. Obviously, uh a long flight out to Germany, but we’re going to be ready for it. How big was that right before half defense got the sack strip and the game? Yeah, that was that was real big, you know. That was real big. Um it it was awesome to see, you know, that momentum and obviously for us, you know, going two plays and scoring a touchdown, you know, that was big time to bring the game into a one-sore game, you know, right before the half. So, uh it was a great job by the defense. You know, that one and also Jesse’s pick, you know, th those two I feel like helped bring us back in the game and uh brought a lot of momentum to the offense side of the ball and we we carried we carried it and we put points on the board to to help us be in position to win the football game tonight. Which floor you all down third down? What were they doing the third down number? Yeah. Uh we just not executing. Not executing. Um yeah, I I got to be better, you know, if it’s getting through my reads, you know, um you know, moving on and you know, find an open guy or you know, just um whatever it could be, you know, but that’s that’s something that we got to look at on film and, you know, assess and you know, uh figure out you know, how frustrating. Uh, it’s not frustrating. It’s football. It’s NFL football, you know. Anything can happen, you know, but u obviously, you know, you talk about not tying the game, you know, but we still had a lot of time on the clock. I think it was four four and a half minutes still on the clock. Defense went out there and got a stop. Gave us opportunity to go out there and put more points on the board and we didn’t do it. So, um, you know, it’s it’s it’s never it’s never on one person. It’s never on one play, you It’s it’s a whole collective thing. It’s a it’s a long game and we got to find ways to to execute whenever it’s it’s needed the most time that coming in to be so fast heavy or was that game because they got early? I don’t know. Maybe because they got out in front. I’m not sure. You know, we we just I just run whatever it’s called. I don’t know. It’s a Z-Rock question. performance. Yeah, for sure. Um, you know, that that’s just him, you know, that’s him. He he’s going he’s going to go out there and ball out, you know, every time he step on the field, he’s a special player, special person, and uh he does special things, you know, each and every week. So, it’s it’s exciting to see and um happy that he’s on our team. Yeah. So, um yeah, we we going to get to that. You know, we still got to watch this film and figure out what we can do better so that we can be better, you know, for that trip, you know, but um you know, we going to flush this game after tonight and tomorrow watching the film and then uh we will be ready uh whenever we go out to Berlin. But um it’s exciting, you know, it’s exciting to to be able to go out to a different country and go out there and um you know, just display what we love to do and um you know, doing it at the high level as well, you know. So, it’s definitely awesome and we’re looking forward to it though. Thank you.

We got to go back and look at the tape
Yea you know its bad when you n your rival (the saints) cant even talk crap to each other during the season 😒 Give Jeff Ulbrich the HC position n fire every other coach on that staff! This is a disaster! 🤦🏾♂️
Still trying to find a way… Such a loser
Once again, we could've had Vrabel….thanks McKay 👌🏻
Yo we are falling so behind…if we don't start winning its for sure over…I don't understand why we didn't grab at least 3 points instead of going for it on 4th…sometimes when you're away just take the points and rely on your defense…cause on defense them boys came to play…Raheem and Zac didn't…terrible play calling at the end
FIND A NEW OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR STOP FINDING EXCUSES FOR GAMES THEY SHOULD WIN
Raheem the Fluffer.
let’s go ahead and start searching for a new coach and Offensive coordinator
how arthur not tired of hearing we gotta find way
When you've been loving this team Since Prime had MC Hammer and Holyfield on the sidelines but They don't love you back……. At least THE BEST PLAYER ON THE FIELD is upset. 3tds by Drake tho, 3 !!!
Our QB keeps saying "You know" and Our HC keeps saying "Gotta find a way". Can't we get someone better than these clowns?
Gotta find a way to get a good head coach and a good offensive coordinator
WORST COACH IN THE NFL
He sucks
Bates, please make a play eventually.
Penix, I need you to refrain from being a statue in the pocket. You're not a 40-year-old man, stop acting like it. Move around in the pocket to extend the plays.
Our season is over sadly 🤦🏽♂️
I’m all for holding our HC accountable but if yall gone act like this loss was his fault you’re just dumb. This was a failed execution by the players
This is def the most upset he has looked in a minute.
Mike I finally get what you mean by you heard clapping. It was the patriots they kept sharting on the field I smelt it.
You know how patriots are back when they accused of cheating lmao ClapGate?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He is SUCH a bad coach! I feel bad for Falcons fans. Hopefully he’s gone soon
Fire Zac Robinson, Fire Raheem Morris, Cut Romo.
Lmao bruh where was Bijan! What are we doing out here man
They just released Romo and signed another kicker. A good coach would say “obviously we’d like to make all our extra point attempts. League average, though, is 96% not 100% so sooner or later you’re going to miss one. If we can’t withstand missing an extra point and still win we’ve got bigger problems as a team and coaching staff than the kicker.” Of course you’re not going to hear that because we don’t have a good coach. He’s far better at finding excuses than coaching football.
You went wrong, Zach Robinson when wrong take the points you get in 1st half 3+23 = 26 / 24 it's a win get out your own way
I hear everything from Raheem accept saying my bad i should have got them 3 pts. I'm looking at tape understanding my team they are still learning each other we're coming. We got heart we playing with heart so look out.
You gotta stop wearing capris bro
