Why Broncos Did NOT Make A Trade At Deadline, Injuries vs Raiders & More | Inside Broncos Practice
The Denver Broncos did not make a trade before the NFL’s trade deadline. I was out at Broncos practice today and talked to Shawn Payeyton 45 minutes after the trade deadline passed and the Broncos did not make a move. And he explained why they did not make a move. He said he and George Payeyton talked every single day leading up to this about potential moves. And from what I’ve heard, the Broncos did explore making a couple of different moves, but they did not make a move because at the end of the day, he said that’s just how it turned out. They didn’t make a move. The value just wasn’t there for the players that they were potentially looking into. Despite the rest of the NFL having a very busy trade deadline, some of the biggest trades and the most trades we’ve seen in nearly a couple of decades throughout the NFL. And one spot that was very hot for the Broncos in terms of rumors was the receiver position. We have reports that the Broncos reached out to the Dolphins about Jaylen Wadd, but the price tag was just too high. We know that the Dolphins were looking for at least a firstround pick, if not even more for that, and the Broncos were not willing to go that far. Shawn Peyton was specifically asked about the receiver position, and he said, “We really like our young talent and where we’re going with that group.” Bo Nicks talked about it and said, “We really like what we’re doing and we want to continue that wave, riding that wave moving forward.” So, the Broncos are seven and two right now and they’re going to take their 7-2 team forward to the playoffs with no additional moves. One small move that was made, the Broncos moved on from JT Gray with an injury settlement special teamer after he uh got injured against the game against the Texans. That’s the only move that the Broncos made today, but there were a lot more updates coming out of Broncos Park powered by Common Spirit because the Broncos have a game against the Raiders on Thursday night. So, this was their only practice of the week. We’ve got a big injury update with Brandon Jones, Riley Moss, and Marvin Mims. Dre Green Law, some big comments coming out from Vance Joseph about him. And then we heard Bone Knicks talk about the Raiders and just how important this game is. Let’s dive into every single update you need to know from Broncos Park powered by Common Spirit as the Broncos are just 48 hours away from taking on the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football. I mentioned that there’s a big injury update regarding Riley Moss, Marvin Mintz, and Brandon Jones. Yesterday, the Broncos did not practice, but they put out an estimated injury report because they didn’t practice, but they had to put it out. And the Broncos had many players as did not participate. in what would have been their practice yesterday. And two big names popped up out of nowhere. Riley Moss and Brandon Jones were listed as non-participants in that practice. Good news, when the Broncos had their walkth through today, they were both out there, number 22 and number 21. And boy is that huge for the Broncos secondary because Pat Certan unfortunately is still out. That’s no surprise. We expected him to be out at least two weeks and this is going to be the second week. So, not a surprise that he’s not out there. But yesterday when Brandon Jones and uh Riley Moss popped up on the injury report, that could have meant the Broncos would have been without three of their four starting members of the secondary. Fortunately, don’t have to worry about that. Both of those guys were out there on the practice field, and I expect them to both play on Thursday against the Raiders. And another key member that was out there, Marvin Mims. Yesterday on the estimated practice report, Marvin Mims was listed as a DNP, did not participate. This would have made it over a week that he did not practice for the Broncos, dealing with a concussion that he suffered in the kickoff return at the end of the Cowboys game when he shouldn’t have been in the game regardless because of the injury or because of how much the Broncos were up at that point in the game. But he did practice today. That means he took a positive step forward in the concussion protocol which is very very good. He has a chance to play on Thursday against the Raiders and Broncos need him. We saw what it looks like without an allp pro punt returner in Marvin Mims. Michael Bandy uh made a couple of good plays against the Texans as a Broncos returner, but he also muffed that punt that gave the Texans the ball in scoring position Thursday night. It looks like there’s a good chance that Marvin Mims will be back, which is key. So, yesterday the injury report seemed very concerning for the Broncos. Today, it looks a lot better, but the Broncos did just do a walkthrough. Today, it was not a full-on practice. In fact, the Broncos won’t get a full-on practice this week leading up to the Raiders this week. It’s about just simplifying things and doing what the team needs to do in order to beat the Raiders uh because of this short week right now. Like I mentioned, Pat Certan did not practice today. And that’s a little bit of a blow, but Broncos were expecting him to not be there this week. Anyways, the big thing for Pat Certan is is he practicing next week in the leadup to the Chiefs game. That’s going to be a huge game for the Broncos and for the Broncos to have Pat back by if not then the Broncos have a bye-week and I fully expect him to be ready to go for the Washington Commanders the week after the Broncos bye-week. One person that has really started to explode for the Broncos, RJ Harvey, get this, R.J. Harvey is turning into Shawn Peyton’s Joker. And a Joker, as Shawn Peyton has said, is a tight end or a running back. That is a dangerous receiver out of either the tight end spot or the running back spot. And RJ Harvey is turning into Shawn Peyton’s Joker right now. He has four receiving touchdowns on the season. That is tied for the second most in the entire NFL for any rookie right now. Tory Horton, CSU zone, Tory Horton leads the NFL with five. Then RJ Harvey is tied with first round pick receiver Acha Ibuka with the Bucks for the second most receiving touchdowns in the NFL this year for a rookie. He’s got four of these guys. He already set the record for most receiving touchdowns for a Broncos running back rookie. He’s already done that. He has a touchdown in backto backto back games right now. And after practice, man, Joel Lombardi really praised him. He said he’s going exactly how the Broncos hoped he would and he’s just taking off. So, expect to see more RJ Harvey as the season progresses. Shawn Peyton told us that was going to be the case a couple of weeks ago and man, Shawn wasn’t lying. He just continues to take off. And Courtland Sutton gave us some insight as to why RJ Harvey’s taken off. He said he’s such a humble guy and he’s willing to learn and listen to everyone specifically from JK Dobbins. And Court said that might be the number one thing that you would look for in a rookie is someone that’s willing to learn and then develop from that learning. He said that’s exactly what RJ Harveyy’s doing. So, the Broncos have a very dangerous running back backfield duo with JK Dobbins as the main rusher in between the tackles and RJ Harvey as the big play explosive touchdown maker that he’s turning into. So, keep an eye on that duo going into Thursday night football against the Raiders. Another guy that has really taken charge recently is Dre Green Law. Of course, he made his Broncos debut couple of weeks ago, played 21 snaps against the Cowboys, then suspended because of his actions after that game. And then we got to see Dre Greenlaw play 27 snaps really in base defense for the Broncos. And he made his presence felt against the Houston Texans. Against the Texans, Dre Greenlaw was crucial in the Broncos red zone stops that they had. The Texans had two opportunities from the oneyd line in on two different drives. First and goal from the one. They didn’t get a single touchdown either of those times. In fact, they missed a field goal one of those times. They got three points out of that. And Vance Joseph today said that that is just so deflating for an offense. And on the flip side for the defense and the Broncos, how just inflating that is and how much juice that gave him. and he pointed out Dre specifically said he was quote outstanding in that red zone series. That is exactly what Dre Green Law is going to give you. He made two of the three stops on one of the red zone drives, including driving uh the Houston Texans back from the oneyd line. So, he is key. And finally, we’re looking ahead to the Las Vegas Raiders. They’re coming to town this Thursday night. Before I tell you what Bo said, make sure to hit us with a thumbs up, subscribe to this channel, and stay tuned to all of our Broncos coverage leading up to the Raiders game and throughout this Broncos playoff push. But it’s Raiders week and Bo Nicks absolutely gets it. Uh, a couple of years ago when Nathaniel Hackett was here and he talked about the Raiders, he said, “Uh, my dad used to coach for them. I don’t really, you know, it’s a good organization.” Huh. Uh, that’s not the approach that this Broncos team is taking. And Bo Nick said, “These division games are the most important games.” And he said, “I know that there’s a big-time history with the Denver Broncos and the Las Vegas Raiders, formerly the Oakland Raiders, formerly the LA Raiders. They bounced around so much they don’t even really have a home.” But Bo didn’t say that. That’s me. We know that this Broncos rivalry is big time. And Bo said it’s so important to win these games. And the Raiders are down. The Broncos can make them out. They can kick them out just like they did last year. Remember last time the Raiders played the Broncos in Denver, the Broncos wore their throwbacks. They’re wearing their throwbacks on Thursday night on prime time as well. And in that game last year, the Broncos ended the Raiders season. Yes, it was early in the season, but the Broncos when Pat Certan took that pick six down the right sideline, it completely flipped the Broncos season. They went on to make the playoffs and it completely destroyed the Raiders season. That was the Raiders first loss of a 10game losing streak. And that’s what Bon Knicks and the Broncos hope to do to these Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football. And in 72 hours, actually just 50 hours from now, the Broncos can have the best record in the entire NFL and not even be tied with anyone. They’re looking to go to 8-2. Make sure to like and subscribe to this channel and this video and stay tuned to all of our Broncos Raiders coverage, plus the Broncos path to the playoffs throughout the rest of the season.

Proof we are not going to the Superbowl this year
we are ok
Thank goodness we got everyone back… except ps2 but hopefully he can play against KC
Love ya Zac keep elevating your skills 🔥🔥🔥
Glad we didn’t overpay if the price was too high
Adding another mouth to feed, when we are still learning how to feed all the mouths on offense, doesnt make sense.
The remaining Russ dead cap still hurting this team. Good news, it's gone after this season but could have used some extra cap space to work with.

We need a TE.

The JALEN WADDLE trade. I praying that GEORGE PAYTON would have gotten his head on straight. But what another
EPIC FAILURE 🤬 🤬 🤬
Can we be 9-2? I think we can, I think we HAVE TO BE! Have to be!!!!
Sean Payton and this team are trying to make history..
Denver’s squad is young and has the strongest chemistry in the league. That connection is their foundation, and they can keep building on it through the draft. I’m glad we’re holding on to our money and draft picks—chasing instant gratification rarely works out, and every year proves it.
BOlieve, COACH has a method to his madness, team Chemistry matters. DB4L ❤🎉😂
Curious if it’s a contract requirement or this guy really likes shoving advertising in our face with tacking on the “powered by commonspirit”
