Just picked up this “Ace” Leafs jersey and had to do some research on it as I’d not seen one before.

It’s from the Ace Bailey benefit game in 1937, after Ace took a career ending injury from a hit by Eddie Shore in 1936. The benefit game was put on by the NHL, which consisted of the Maple Leafs vs a team of select all stars from around the league. This game became the first NHL All Star game.

  1. Are you sure this isn’t a modern or recent duplicate of a classic? The condition of that jersey is far too clean to be from that era.
