The Minnesota Timberwolves, per a team source, are one. Ditto for the Sacramento Kings. The Grizzlies’ next opponent, the Houston Rockets, need a point guard after losing Fred Van Vleet to a torn ACL in the preseason but, per a team source, are unlikely to pursue him. That’s just a small sample size of what might be out there, and not out there, if the Morant sweepstakes ever actually begin.

  1. Not gonna lie, Ja makes sense in Minnesota with Ant. Not sure what the trade would entail but Minnesota needs a second ball handler with Conley too washed, and Ja is obviously a home run swing there looking for someone who also turns the offense into a juggernaut

Could go poorly but there’s also a world where Minnesota just becomes really fucking good and a terrifying playoff matchup

  2. The general manager of deja vu was seen pleading with the timberwolves FO to make this happen.

  3. Can some east teams try to trade for stars for once, why is it always west teams trying to improve?

  4. A potential beam and finger guns pairing up together ?

The league can’t allow this !

  5. Ja and Ant would be Ant spawning a new baby with a different baby momma every 9 months and Ja putting a glock in their hands as a birthday gift age 1.

  6. I think the missing here from these conversations is this, why would a FO that has been an absolute masterclass of an organization trade a player for $0.20 on the dollar? Memphis doesn’t get stars, and we never will. If we’re going to trade away the one that we have, Kleimann is going to do what he always does, which is maximize value.

On second thought maybe we just trade him for a couple 2nds and draft a better player anyway.

  7. Kings please. Sabonis for Ja so they can run the Ja/Schroeder/Westbrook/Lavine/DeRozan lineup of death

  8. You know how there’s a movie trope where a mad scientist’s experiment goes wrong and he turns himself into a horrifying humunculus or a blob monster or something and he starts pleading “Kill me… Killll meeee” because their existence is pure suffering?

That’s how it feels to be a King’s fan

  9. And here I was thinking a East team could use Ja since many of them teams are missing PGs now.

  10. These sorts of statements are always so pointless. Like, are you really trying to tell me that there are organizations that wouldn’t “monitor” what’s happening in the league?

  11. Please give me Morant to the Kings. I want to see that Frankenstein of an offense function with 3 ball dominant guards

  12. Timberwolves can’t make this trade without moving one of Gobert, Randle, or Reid. (Or McDaniels, but I assume he’s off the table.) They also have no draft picks to trade. Is Memphis that interested in any of those guys?

  13. Please tell me what either of these teams has that Memphis would want? Memphis wouldn’t want Gobert or Randle. Neither team has the draft assets also to get it done. Keep monitoring though lofl

  14. The Kings need to stop, lol. Their franchise has become a graveyard where careers go to die.

  15. If somehow all of this results in Mike Conley coming back to Memphis for his final season, I will die a happy man.

  16. I think Randle has to be included in any Ja trade unless Memphis prefers Naz Reid. Randle needs the ball to be effective and so does Ja so that doesn’t fit at all to me. I actually think Rudy being an elite screener would open up lanes for Ja in the same way Stephen Adam’s did and is a pretty similar player with more lob threat potential.

Ja’s ability to get into the paint at will and playmaking is exactly what the Timberwolves are missing offensively. I think ANT x Ja is a walking top 5 offense and a legit WCF threat.

  17. It’s not going to happen no matter how much y’all hate. Ja is not leaving Memphis anytime soon.

  18. We’re all monitoring his situation because we want to see what stupid thing he does next
