Utah Jazz Walker Kessler out for the year with torn labrum.
Devastating news for the Utah Jazz and Walker Kesler as it has been deemed that his shoulder will need surgery, a torn labroom. He is out for the year. The injury took place for the very first time in the preeason and then it happened again when he reached out for a ball with his left arm in his final game. He played for the Jazz before going home for consultation on this road trip and now out for the year for surgery. For the Jazz immediately, it means Ysef Nerkich and Kevin Love will be the center. Love playing the backup center extended minutes. This is a major blow to the Jazz defensively as they will have to try to figure out different ways. Walker was going to be the rim defense and the main shot blocker. He also led the league in offensive rebounds which is a major part of the Jazz offense. For Walker, he voiced the frustration of not getting an extension in the offseason. He will now have to renegotiate or start negotiations with the Jazz again in the offseason without having played much this year. But the Jazz know his value. Walker knows his place and hopefully they’ll still be able to get a deal done. and Walker will be at 100% next season for the Utah Jazz and hopefully with that contract in place in a long part of the Utah Jazz future. That’s the news. Walker Kesler out for the year. A big blow to the Jazz and a Walker himself as we give it to you here on more details tomorrow on locked on
