So to all my fellow die hards who watch this team day in and day out rarely missing a game despite work/school familys etc. We all see it right? Every game so far and even worse then last year.. Hack a Giannis as a strategy from opposing teams in paint.

I try not to be a reactionary or a conspiracy theorist or blame refs for Ls in general. That isnt what this post is about at its core. It's about baseline integrity and fairness amongst all players from refs.. Bucks could have certainly performed better in every loss this year. That said, the refs slipped up and made a very telling ommission to Doc Rivers that I certainly believe needs more scrutiny/attention. The refs to Doc mid game "We aren't calling fouls on opponents hitting Giannis' arms because he plays through it.."

How is this not bigger news? They are literally on record admitting that the "rules" apply differently to certain players. I.E. the literal opposite of the definitionof fairness. Now anyone who watches NBA in any capacity understands this is the NBAs dirty little open secret but to come right out and say it, is as equally audacious as it is damning..

Now when you see this approach to calling games, from multiple diff refs/crews it really starts to make you wonder if this isnt a mandate from Silver himself. They aren't even pretending to approach the job of calling games from a place of equality, integrity, or fairness. Based off of that literal quote, one can easily infer the opposite. That Giannis is treated differently but why? He literally plays within the confines of the game, and the league has decided to fault him for possessing otherworldly strength and domination, and he doesn't get the whistle because he doesnt flop around like Shai and LeBron?? The refs have colluded to let him get roughed up, and literally admitted it to Doc mid game. . Im sorry what?!?!

Lastly, what worries/bothers me most, is the look on Giannis face after getting hacked repeatedly (no call) then having a foul called on him(Giannis) for administering 1/10 the force that he recieved going after the ball. I know that look. Its equal parts disbelief and disgust. That worries me. Giannis is literally one of the most resilient people ive ever seen but to have to contend with opposing players and crooked refs who in a Freudian slip, literally admitted to not treating you fairly. It's gotta be disheartening. How long until it starts to take a toll mentally? Thoughts? Am I overreacting??

  1. Jesus tap dancing Christ. Apparently the concept of an “and 1” foul shot is too hard to grasp for these idiots.

  2. They’re not actually on record saying this, Doc is on record saying that they said this. I still completely agree with you though

  3. Shaq went through a similar thing. People slapped his arms every play and the refs knew they couldn’t call a foul on every single play, so they ended up only calling the ones that really slowed him down.

  4. Glad to see Doc calling this out. It’s absurdly clear that we’re getting an awful whistle right now. I don’t mind a FT disparity, especially since Giannis, Rollins, and Kuz are the only guys attacking the rim, but it’s clear that we’re getting bad calls on both sides.

The Kings game L2M report is proof of that. 3 INC calls in 40 seconds that favored the Kings (including a 3 sec violation no call that allowed them to score and kill more time). 2 of those were direct fouls on Giannis that weren’t called.

  5. We’ve know different rules apply to different players for decades, especially contact on big men down low. Giannis probably should learn to react more theatrically because they’re never going to send him to line every time he gets contact driving to the rim.

  6. It’s been obvious for years. How many free throws did Brook Lopez get while he played here? He was hacked on every put back he ever had.

  7. If my king 👑 gets hurt from being wrestled at the rim – we ride at dawn boys – fear the deer 🦌

  8. Just stop calling fouls on other players then that supposedly “don’t play through it”. The world will go on

  9. The major problem of this ref BS is there isn’t anyone to hold them accountable, no punishments, fines, nothing. Until they are punished for bad calls things won’t change

  10. Bucks gotta submit formal complaints to the league and go through the process. OKC does it a ton. Maybe that has something to do with SGA’s golden whistle despite him rarely complaining to the officials.

  11. Bucks shot less than 30% from three Raptors shot almost 45%…you ain’t winning regardless of foul calls but…telling a coach you ain’t calling fouls cuz the dude “plays through it” is dumb as hell lol
