[Covering the Corner] The Guardians Should Pursue Ha-Seong Kim

  1. Is a healthy Kim worth $15+ mil more than Arias? Last year is no and it’s not like Thomas or Jones returned to their previous selves, and those were trades.

I just don’t see spending 15+ mil on a question mark being in the docket. The guards are cheap and don’t pay free agent bats often. Santana and Hedges not withstanding.

Id rather see them commit to a true proven powerbat and Kim’s regression and injury are too big a risk for the cheap guards.  It’s kinda odd that Kim decided to opt out of altanta, seemed like the perfect home for him to make a comeback.

  2. I’d rather extend Kwan than sign 3 mediocre-to-bad guys like this with whatever small amount of money the cheap ass Dolans are willing to spend before ownership changes

  3. Unless they are trading Bazzana for a RF, spending more than the cost of a minor league invite, on any middle infield FA that isn’t Bo Bichette would be foolish. And they aren’t signing Bichette so it’s a moot point.

  4. I’d rather spend $15 million on 2 relievers tbh. Junis was a steal last year, and I trust them to get good value on underrated arms. Carl Willis is unmatched there.

  5. We’re not signing anyone. You will get more AAA platoon players and you will like it.

  6. Offseason posts are insane in here every year. Were not signing anyone who wants paid what theyre worth. Best we will get is players out of discount bargain bin

  7. I’d make a run for Kyle Schwarber. Just chuck that ball in the air, and say fuck it… see if he catches the offer.
