Wondering if it’s the highest in 34 years because that’s when they started tracking it or was Game 7 of the 1991 Braves/Twins WS really higher?
When the stars align and you have a premier US TV market. The only Canadian TV market and a team with multiple Japanese stars and some truly GREAT games this is what you get.
Great, now make it easier to stream and you’ll get 50mil viewers
So many of these stats are saying 10million (give or take) Canadians watched Game 7 but I just don’t believe that is even remotely possible.
EDIT:
After reading how they come to these numbers (extrapolation and estimating illegal streams, group watching, etc) I will concede this point. My skepticism was based on incorrect assumptions on what they “count” as a viewer.
Viewership when greedy owners lock out labor: 0.
Another example of the Dodgers destroying baseball. /s
Can’t believe the Dodgers have destroyed baseball like this
I love that we get 18 of these threads a day now….the season is over move on my God.
Kinda crazy how big the NFL is when conference championship games routinely get these numbers
I watched the 15 inning playoff game and the 18 inning WS game and completely biffed and forgot to watch game 7!
I am a Reds fan so I don’t have much practice watching baseball this late in the season.
Trying to think how much extra viewers they would have had in Canada had it been on a OTA network like CTV. Probably would have beat those Canadian numbers by a few million.
This proves to me that baseball
1. Is watchable when it matters and amazing to watch. The drama of every pitch was amazing.
2. The modern era should cut way down on how many games they play so the games matter.
3. Baseball should play games more international at the beginning of the year when it’s cold here still.
Very unpopular opinion in this sub.
But wait, I thought the Dodgers were ruining baseball and the sport was dying as a result?
Series was a perfect storm for ratings
34 years? That’s all? Dodgers ruining ⚾️
I’m from Poland 🇵🇱 and Shohei is so popular it got even me interested here. Wanting to witness something special in the sports world, 1 in a century talent!
It was the first World Series I ever watched. It was fun 🤩 but man I gone to sleep at 6am 🤣
Kirby mother fucking Puckett.
the league and player’s union better be working on a resolution soon so they don’t choke all of that away
