Did the Philadelphia Eagles Win the Trade Deadline by Keeping AJ Brown?? | The Rich Eisen Show
So, um, I have to say this carefully and quickly, so don’t interrupt. All right. Do you remember Chris? We were role playinging, um, about Howie Roseman taking phone calls. I was waiting for J. Brown. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I had to frontload you doing a that’s what she said joke. Um, my mic was muted. I made sure to stay. Okay. Okay. Is that the way to make sure you stay out is you turn your microphone off. It’s not optimum. I mean, I I’d like to hear from you. Well, sometimes I I can’t control myself. Understood. But do you remember when everyone was saying, “Hey, AJ Brown’s available. He wants out and all that.” And we and you were like a GM and I was like, “How Roseman?” And I’m like, you’re like, “Hey, you know, I pretended to be a GM from the Northeast.” Okay. And and I and I basically said GTFO8 pretty much, right? Yeah. That was although apparently was that who told us that was it Pelisera told us Mickey Lumis freaking hangs up on people when they bring up names that he has no intention trading you hang up of when when you hear the C of Chimera is like Alvin Chris oh hello what Chris hello all right uh sure enough AJ Brown still an eagle shock the world howie Roseman talked about that think that when you’re trying to be a great team, it’s hard to trade great players. And um AJ Brown’s a great player. Um he wears the C uh for a reason. He’s an important part of this team uh of this organization. Uh he cares about winning. He cares about his teammates. And you know, I think that uh when you’re a team like ours that is looking forward to an opportunity to compete for a championship, um you just don’t get rid of guys like that. and so um feel very lucky to have him on our team and uh excited about the second half of the season with him. Isn’t that an amazing concept when you have how about this? Sometimes you know caps are confusing and you know trade charts are confusing, drafts are it’s a very confusing job. uh when you’re manage when you’re generally managing, it could be generally confusing, you know. Um but sometimes it’s just you should just manage in general when you have great players and you want to be great as a team. You don’t trade great players. You know what I mean? I wouldn’t recommend that. No. No. It’s it’s amazing sometimes. What a concept. What a concept. Great. All right. So, let’s just put it this way. You want to be great. Mhm. There. All right. And your team collectively wishes to be great for collectively a franchise that wishes to be great. So, what you should do is get players who are great and hold on to the great players. Yep. Yep. Good. Good. Good. Good. In general, that’s how you should manage. and then call up the uh Dolphins and say, “How about a three for your arguably best pass rusher?” How about I’ll get Jier Alexander for nothing even though he hasn’t done much for the Ravens or as you know the Packers in some of the final throws of his time there, dude. And Ravens fans are like freaking out. We didn’t do anything. Bills fans, we didn’t do anything. Patriots didn’t do anything. Patriots didn’t do it. Patriots traded away people. They’re like, “We don’t need all these people. We don’t need all these people.” And the Eagles are like, “That’s what we’re going to do. We’ll take your best or some of the best and we’ll get it at a bargain spot and we’ll see how it goes because if it doesn’t go well, we’ve got other people to kind of handle it.” You see the phone ring, it says Howie Rose and you hang up. Don’t answer it. Don’t answer it. Like a great idea. Great idea. elector. You want to be great, keep your great players. ESPN radio presented by Progressive Insurance returns for hour two in a sec. Keep your great players. Don’t send them to Philadelphia. Yeah, I’d appreciate that. And again, here we go again. The Philadelphia Eagles sit back on their by-week. They get healthy imagining AJ Brown will be back with a groin issue, right? Yeah. and they go all the way to the top of the conference sitting at home because the Packers lose and the Lions lose while they’re sitting at home. Falcons lose too. Again, just to keep on Panthers get closer, Seahawks get closer. Bucks are staying put. You already beaten them. Packers, as I mentioned, lose. Lions lose. Yeah, Rams are right there. Yeah, and I know, but I I’m I’m kind of wondering, they probably went from what, two or three in the conference to one just sitting at home. They just sat at home. They’re top. That’s it. Halfway through, they got the buy right in the middle of the season, which is exactly when teams really want them. They’re set. They’re set up. Uh Brandon Graham’s coming back. Yeah, that’s true. Yeah. And we just assume he’s going to be able to give you some snaps and some production. Just let’s keep Jaylen Carter healthy and not doing anything silly. All their other e all their all their uh Bulldogs are back, right? The Kobe Dean’s back. Yeah, I saw that. Jeez. Sorry, man. But hey, you got Quinn and Williams. You’ve got to be happy about that. Yeah, I was happy yesterday, like I said, and then I heard And then I heard the naysayers. and I listen to that. But now after what Kurt said, who I’m not going to argue with a a Hall of Famer, now he’s kind of made me go h a little bit. Now I’m confused again. But listen, you should never give up Micah Parsons. It’s that simple. And you should never give up on Micah Parsons. And if he’s a pain in the ass, figure out how to deal with the the ass pain and and and not have some sort of like argument like a food fight argument over what a handshake means. Yeah. Yeah. But the trade does get better with each passing week. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. It would of been hilarious if he was traded to the Jets lol
Rich you had 200 segments about AJ Brown definitely getting traded in the past month. You had Dianna Russini on multiple times.
Ive never seen the media try to manufacture a trade harder than what they did for AJ Brown.
Anybody with a brain (or without an agenda) couldve told you #1 seed, defending SB Champions werent going to give away their best player and give up 60+ million dollars in cap space.
It would have been cool if this show and many others actually gave the Eagles credit after their wins instead of only talking about drama they mostly made up.
He was NEVER gettinv traded.
Talk about MANUFACTURING a story.
Why does no one in the national media want to admit it was never gonna happen because of how much dead cap the Eagles would take on by trading him? They're not a dumb organization
😂the role play …….play was gold😂……and gay AF😂
You wanna be great, block all of the 215 and 610 on your phone. Take no calls from Howie 😂😂
I was really hoping we'd stop hearing about how the Eagles should trade AJ after the trade deadline…. now its, should the Eagles HAVE traded AJ…..
Trading AJ Brown story is fugazy 😂 Can’t be mad at Smitty, AJ, Saquon, or Jalen if the offense started slow and stagnant. The 🦅 have turned a corner and looking to stay atop the NFC! Green Bay and Lions were just upset by scrub teams. Eagles coming with that belt.
The media narrative surrounding the Eagles rarely makes sense, but now it’s downright ridiculous
What is the national media’s obsession about AJ and him being traded??? It’s so weird and never seen anything like it smh
Think about it. A team trading for AJ at the deadline is going to be a team contending for a Superbowl. The Eagles themselves are competing for another Superbowl. So why the hell would you weaken your own roster and strengthen another contender? Howie Roseman isn't stupid, this was never happening. Not to mention the financial ramifications as well.
