The New York Knicks have just made a surprising move regarding one of the most talked about players on the roster to start this season. With a couple of games in, we’re learning more and more about this team, including an update on Mitchell Robinson’s health, how the Knicks plan to navigate it, and why all of that just officially got proven. And we’re going to break all that down. So, you’re going to want to make sure to stick around to the end of this video so you don’t miss out on all this. But guys, let’s jump right into it. But real quick, if you are part of that 55% that’s not subscribed to Nick’s Digest. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss a single New York Knicks update. We got a lot of great videos coming out every single day that you don’t want to miss out on. If you want to be up to date on all Knicks updates, this is the place to be. But let’s jump into it, guys. There’s a lot to go over because Leon Rose just made a very surprising move for this Knicks team that nobody really saw coming right now. I mean, the Knicks obviously they are back on track right now. They were three and three at the time. There was some fear. Now they’re five and three. Things are rolling and they have a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves that is going to define a whole lot going forward. The Timberwolves are a very good team though. Anthony Edwards is currently dealing with an injury and is questionable. Julius Randle has been on an absolute war path to start this season. Shout out Julius for just being the man. We always will love Julius Randall on this channel no matter what. But with all that in mind, there has been a lot to go over with the Knicks ahead of this. And they just made a very surprising move as we saw that they’ve just assigned Tyler Kick back to the GLeague. He won the 2024 G-League Showcase Finals MVP and then later now has once again been assigned to the Westchester Knicks. Fans were not expecting this because Kolic was in the rotation for a bit with the Knicks. And Kolic did have an interesting start to his Knicks season. Now Kick, he put up eight in eight minutes per game. He put up three points and one assist per game, shooting 43% from the field and 25% from three. He’s had moments where he really has been valuable to the Knicks because he’s been able to be a ball handler for them. And though he only is averaging one assists per game, he is a good passer. And the Knicks, they were using Kolick. They were trying to see what they had here. Mike Brown was trying to see what he had in regards to a backup point guard with Kolick. Now, obviously with Juice McBride missing some time, it did give Kolic more of a window of opportunity to play, but they now seem more settled in with Kohic or with McBride and Jordan Clarkson in that back court. Sort of leaving Kick as an odd man out in this situation right now. Now, Dylan Backer of Empire Sports Media did discuss this as well, saying that Kohic began the regular season as a main part of the rotation, logging serious mans as a backup point guard. However, he struggled to make a serious impact while on the floor, and the team struggled offensively with him. Kolic has been out of the rotation for the past three games with his only minutes coming in garbage time. Head coach Mike Brown has spent the early part of the season experimenting with different lineups to see which rotations work best, but his rotation has been more settled over the past few games. And that rotation, unsurprisingly, has included Mike Brown playing a lot a lot less young players like Tyler Kick. This isn’t for any reason like he hates young guys or anything like that. It’s because the Knicks are a contending team. So, you’re not always looking for the youngest guy to add onto the roster. That’s not exactly what the Knicks number one plan all the time is going to be. the Knicks, they understand that with Kohlick, with this team right now, what they want to go out there and do is effectively win games. And to win games, what’s going to make the most sense is to play Jordan Clarkson and Duce McBride, who are better than Tyler Kick right now. So, we have to be well aware of that. We have to understand that this is exactly what the Knicks are trying to do here. The Knicks, they do have a lot going on for them right now, and they really, really, it is very important that they win these games right now. And they sort of understand what this rotation’s going to be down the line. And I mean right now the backup back back court is looking like it’s going to involve Jordan Clarkson and Duce McBride mainly and then also we’ll see a few different players coming off the bench like Josh Hart of course Gershon Yabui once they figure out what’s going on with him and if he can really start to bounce back Ariel Huckporty will be around but there is a lot to think about with this whole Tyler Kick situation. I mean Kick he has been good in the G-League in his limited minutes there or in his limited games or I should say he’s appeared in eight games with the Westchester Knicks in his career averaging 33 minutes per game and he’s done well. Well, he’s put up 18 and a half points, five rebounds, and nine assists per night, getting two steals. The shooting has always been the concern, though. Col has yet to become an efficient shooter in the NBA. His free throw percentage has been good with the 91, showing that he does have the potential to get there as a shooter, but only shooting 33% from three and 40% from the field is definitely not ideal for Tyler Kick or for the Knicks right now. And they’re trying to figure out a way for him to clean up the percentage. I mean, 43% from the field, which he’s shooting right now in the NBA, isn’t the worst thing in the world, but they’re just trying to get Kick reps, continue to get him minutes because they find it more important that he plays than he sits on the bench and watches games. And I’m inclined to agree. I would rather see Kick playing games starting with the Westchester Knicks as they actually try to build something up in comparison to just sort of letting him just sit on the bench. I understand why they have Dier and Dawara there right now because they do want them to learn a bit from those ga from those guys considering that they’re both a lot younger than Kick and everybody else but it also is a matter of the Knicks wing depth is a little bit thinner compared to their guard depth where they do have Duce they do have Clarkson they do have Jaylen Brunson they do have enough guards where it feels like they’re going to be able to be fine regardless of whether Kolix’s there or not. So there is a lot of questions the Knicks are going to have to answer with this going forwards. But also we did see a huge update as well in regards to the big man situation specifically both Mitchell Robinson and Carl Anthony Towns but mainly Mitchell Robinson because there has been a lot of talk surrounding Mitch and what exactly the plan is for him going forwards with the injury concerns. The last thing the Knicks want is for Mitch to be hurt. They want to make sure they slow roll this thing and right now that is exactly what they’ve been doing and Carl Anthony Towns has been downgraded to questionable for the game against the Timberwolves. So when we understand that when we understand the cat is now questionable for this game. It does make sense that the Knicks you do start to wonder is Mitchell Robinson going to play then or are the Knicks going to be ultra thin at the big man position with just Ariel Huckporty and Gershan Yabusalei and then obviously as well Trey Gemson on the two-way contract holding it down. Is that the plan? Well, we saw an update on that as well to go over as it was mentioned that the Knicks have no players on the injury report for the game verse Minnesota, which means Mitchell Robinson is available to play. That’ll be huge, especially if the Knicks are missing out on Cat, who this season is putting up 20 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, one block, shooting 36% from three, and 41% from the field. He’s still getting his numbers up and really figuring his whole thing out. He’s about to turn 30 years old. We understand Cat is in the prime of his career and he is going to get those numbers consistently up. Is he going to average 25 and 12 like last year? Well, the rebounds will definitely be there. Will the points? It feels like right now it’s more of a committee surrounding Jaylen Brunson, which I do like. So, we’re going to see exactly how that works out. But Cat, he is still finding his rhythm, but he has been getting better and better as a season as we going along, which is absolutely huge to understand. I know we had the hot start last year, but that’s fine. We don’t have to really worry. I’m not really worried at all about Cat. And the Knicks last season when they did not have Carl Anthony Towns went five and five. The concern is when they played good teams, they consistently lost those games whether it was against Cleveland, Golden State, Minnesota, Orlando, or Detroit. Especially when we know that in against Minnesota, the Knicks when it was in MSG like tonight, they did lose to the Timberwolves, it wasn’t necessarily close. The Knicks losing 116 to 99. So, it’s not like that game was necessarily close. All five of those teams were playoff teams. Meanwhile, the two teams the Knicks beat just five different times were the 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. Two teams last year that were absolutely terrible. Obviously, the Sixers are having a good year this year and the Nets are well still an absolute embarrassment to basketball. But what’s new? So, when we understand that, it does make sense that the Knicks, we should be a little bit worried when Cat’s not playing. But at the same time, being that it is the ninth game of the season, it’s not like we have to go into full-blown panic mode or anything like that. The Knicks are still figuring it out. And I am interested to seeing how the Knicks work with Mitchell Robinson there and maybe not Carl Anthony Towns. Now Towns wants to play and he’s going to try to play, but he is sick right now. So the Knicks might give him the day off and give Mitchell Robinson a chance to shine. I would absolutely love to see what happens with Mitchell Robinson out there as the sole big man just to see what the lineups look like and to see what exactly Mike Brown does. It should mean an increase in minutes for Gerson Yabusle. But also in his two games that he’s appeared in thus far, Mitch has averaged two points, eight rebounds, one and a half assist shooting, 33% from the field. Obviously, twoame stretch, it’s not something to really be taking too much stock in right now. I We all understand what Mitchell Robinson can do for this team, and we all are looking forward to seeing Mitchell Robinson continue to do what he does. Guys, what do you think about this whole thing? Let me know in the comments down below what you think about Mitch being the only big man tonight on this Knicks roster. What do you want to see out of Mitchell Robinson? What do you think about Collet going to the G- League? Is it a good idea, or should he stay up in the NBA and get rotational minutes, or should he just sit on the bench? You guys let me know in those comments, and I will get back to you. Like this video. 1. When Thibs Shortened his Rotation, and Played Mainly his Veterans , it was a Major Sin ! But When Brown Does it its a Great Move! The Thibs Hatred is So Obvious ! Ask Yourself Why ?

  2. The Knicks are still a trade or two away. They could have done this in the off-season. If the 3s don't fall, they suck. It is what it is, league wide. Which is why Nielsen data has the 2025 Fall Classic between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays to average 15.0 million viewers across seven games vs The NBA Finals, between the Thunder against the Indiana Pacers, limped to 10.27 million average—second-lowest in series history and a full 4.73 million viewers behind baseball’s championship… The nba is trotting out a garbage product, running back and forth and chucking up 3s… Watching the Knicks is becoming a bore

  3. Good showing for KAT. 33 points in 30mins I think it was. I think Kolek going back to the G league makes sense for the time being. I'd like to see the starting unit gel a bit better, and our offensive anchors that play with the second unit be more efficient. Aside from that, I think Mike Brown is doing a good job in seeing what this team is capable of. I'd like to see what this team will look like around the 20 game mark. It's still way too early to say whether or not the team is championship caliber
