(2003) Montreal Expos didn’t know the infield fly rule

TIL the infield fly rule!
This shit has me cracking up lmao bro was so mischievous about it
I’m confused. Doesnt the infield fly rule mean that it’s an out regardless if the player catches it? So he doesn’t catch it.. and I don’t even see the Giant touch home and the expo does…
Sorry I’m new to this
I would love to still watch my Expos making errors instead of not watching them at all.
YOINK!
Ahh, nos z’amours ❤️
I don’t think the runner knew the rule either. It doesn’t make much sense to try and score on a popup 5 feet in front of home plate.
Yeah there’s no longer a force when the batter is called out. Not only that there is no tag up necessary. That’s pretty heads-up base running from third with the infielders standing right there.
This is the very kind of play the infield fly rule was crafted for.
Lol I think this is the only time I’ve ever seen a manager come out of the dugout, completely ignore the umpire and just rip into his own players.
You know it’s bad when the manager comes out to yell at his players to stop yelling at the ump. He doesn’t even bother arguing the call.
Man we had no trouble learning this as 14 year old Little League umpires when I was a kid, this really is unacceptable
I think Cordero knew what was up because he was pointing at Perez like “tag him!” Boneheaded defense almost negates hitting 2 slams in an inning.
They don’t have it in Canada
Did Bonds get an RBI?
What’s ironic is that they didn’t think to make an easy double or triple play out of it, which is why the infield fly rule exists.
If they believed the runner on third was forced to advance, then they should have thought the runners on first and second were forced to advance and tried to get them out too. It’s like two layers of dumb.
Was Eric Gange on the mound?
22 years ago. A team that doesn’t exist anymore and nobody in the league anymore I just got mad that they screwed up against the giants.
I still don’t know it
Why does the expos manager have an American flag on his jacket?

I wish the Expos were still around.
