  1. This is not a contending team. Not even fucking close. What good does keeping Trey do??? The entire organization has zero ability to assess football. Unreal.

  2. Just for some facts. If we say Trey hits for $35M in 2026. Then we have $135M in cap hit on those 4 players.

There is still about $175M in cap space for the rest of the roster with the biggest hits being Orlando Brown at $21M, Dax Hill at $12M and BJ Hill at $12M.

A narrative that those 4 players would cost us so much that we couldn’t afford a roster is just completely false.

  3. I want to know what the “strong offer” was, because the other rumor is that we offered him to the Cowboys for a 2nd and they balked at it. I still think Trey + R4 in exchange for a R2 is probably about the most we could’ve been offered, and for a team like the 49ers that 2nd rounder is likely going to be worse than the Cowboys’ 2nd rounder.

  4. When you’re building a defense, you build the middle first. DT, MLB, SS, FS. Trey is gone and we’ll take the compensatory pick. We have drafted Edge. If they suck, they suck but we need the middle rebuilt immediately. It’s abysmal.

  5. Just do whatever makes Joe happy. Hell, he knows more about winning than any of the owners do.

  6. Heres the thing , a huge cap hit on 4 players or not trading They Hendrickson would be entering a soft rebuild, and would take 1-2 years to be superbowl contenders, and I don’t think Joe Burrow will tolerate that, the reality is that the window is closing, they need to be all in next year and they won’t replace Hendrickson production with a rookie even if it’s 8-10 sacks next year

  7. Don’t believe anything you read on Twitter rumor accounts. MLfootball or NFL rumors. They just make stuff up
