Are we gonna re-sign him? Or do you think he’s gonna retire?

  1. He’s going to a contender if possible. He voiced his displeasure with the pirates ownership in his normal, positive, pc way.  He is my favorite all time Pirate (I’m 45) and he deserves a chance at playoff baseball and hopefully a ring.

  2. I hope he goes somewhere that can contend next year and then sign a one day contract so he retire as a Pirate.

  3. He’s going somewhere to win, and that speaks volumes about the state of the organization. The beloved legend, who went out of his way to return to the Pirates to finish his career, ends up bailing because there is zero hope.

  4. If he wants to either retire or play another year here then great, but a part of me wants him to ring chase with a contender. I normally wouldn’t want a franchise icon to go play for another team but would honestly love it for him if he got a ring with someone else. Just not the Dodgers.

  5. Despite other people commenting thinking he’s gonna chase a ring or something, I think it’s more likely Cutch retires than plays for anyone next season. The homecoming was fun while it lasted, but I don’t see the Pirates signing him for another $5M to put up 0.1 WAR. I’m not sure what kind of offers he would get in FA if any, but at 39 years old and raising a family, I doubt he wants to deal with moving to yet another city.

  6. I’m amazed honestly that no one in Pittsburgh has physically accosted Bob Nutting at this point, god what a piece of shit. Hope Cutch can get a ring before he calls it a career, remember watching him crush a couple out of Victory Field years ago when he was with Indy before he got called up.

  7. Cutch never should have come back. What a waste of 3 years of quality DH play on the skunk ass Bob Nutting Bucs.
