Paul Hamilton on Zach Benson and Josh Doan impressing in Sabres first win #buffalosabres #sabres
We had a caller right before the break say talk about Zack Benson. It was his first game, their first game with Benson, his first win, their first one I should say. Um, let’s talk about him because, you know, we’ve had a lot to say about him and he’s been a nice player for the Sabres since he showed up, but the question was always, will he ever see the score sheet? And, uh, he did he did in a big way last night, right? um he four assists and you know even the short-handed goal by Mloud he had an opportunity to score there but still you know made the play to yeah he got stopped but uh what was he doing he was even though they were short-handed Mloud gets the goalender to turn the puck over but he goes to the net and that’s what that’s what Benson’s going to do that’s what Josh Don’s going to do and they combine for seven assists between the two of them because they they they play quite a bit. They’re they’re quite the same in the way they play. And um I think Josh Don gave the fans a dose of what they’re going to see from him. I think he’s going to be a fan favorite uh the way he plays the game and it’s just like that. I mean, he’s in the middle of everything. whether it’s a battle on the boards, whether it’s a battle in front of the net and he wins those battles and he is around the net and you know he’s constantly coming out with the puck when he’s in battle and that’s exactly what Benson does. uh you know Benson can be on his hands and knees and still protect the puck and you know it’s just it’s it’s an element of the game that they weren’t getting and uh he gets into the lineup and you know shows exactly why they have missed

Benson and Doan basically have the potential to save Kevyn Adams job. To the GM's parents, your son's first name should be spelled with an I, by the way, not a Y, although we Sabres fans still question WHY your son is still here in Buffalo as GM.
