This is from last week but still found it encouraging that at least we have one true bright spot on the defense.

On another hand can’t wait to see how we let him walk for absolutely nothing next year because this FO doesn’t understand how to build a team.

  1. DJ Turner elite

    Dax Hill trash

    CTB trash

    Jordan Battle trash

    Geno Stone trash

The defense is just so unbalanced. Maybe Trey comes back and gets healthy. But 1 very good pass rusher and 1 very good defensive back in a sea of trash players is still going to be the worst defense in modern history.

  2. I’m surprised Dax has been struggling so much. Last year seemed so promising for him.

But we needed a breakout year for *someone* on defense, and it feels like we’re actually getting it from Turner. Of course, that’s not translating into too much on one of the worst defenses in NFL history, but it’s a bright spot.

  3. Dax Hill is an average NFL slot corner. He always has been. And always will be.

Why the millionaires in the front office can’t do the work to figure that out FIVE FUCKING YEARS AGO, is beyond me – any of us.

  4. We could realistically build around Trey, DJ, and the rookie linebackers and let everyone else go. But before we do that, we need to bring people in who actually know how to scout and develop prospects.

  5. Dax Hill was our best corner last year by a long shot now he’s trash. Is he still recovering from injury or do we think the new scheme is throwing him for a loop?

  6. Even more impressive considering opposing QB’s have 10 seconds to throw the ball vs our Dline.

  7. Should have traded our 2 x 1st rd picks for sauce… Duke and company clearly can’t draft defensive talent so what they hell are 1st rd picks anyway?

  8. It’s nice to see we have a real one with DJ Turner.

    Dax Hill is NOT good.

If Trey comes back and is good, they may franchise him. He will have to be really good for that, as it’s like $30 milly, right?

That means we have two players and need at 6-9 better players next season. I’m guessing at least one of the linebackers will probably figure it out.

They need at least two (three if Trey doesn’t get tagged) defensive linemen. They need a vet linebacker. They need two safeties, and a cornerback, at a bare minimum.

So lets go with 7 defensive starters that they need next season to be competitive.

Say they have a top 7 pick.

Which positions can they expect to find a starter in the first three rounds?
