Are the Magic Holding Paolo Banchero Back — or Is It His Own Game? – Quick breakdown analysis

quick thing to note, THE HORNS SET IS NOT ANTIQUATED, its used in college A LOT and even though we saw it years ago in NBA, some NBA teams absolutely still use it, its just usually they just do elbow zoom or elbow point away or strong that we’ve seen where they other person instead of elbow is a G and spaced on the weak side of the floor instead. We see these by other NBA offenses that we analyzed on this channel..also the florida vid that I linked
Need a new coach who is offensively minded.
He needs to find his zen at the line. Is Phil Jackson available???
Video aside alone I just wanted to point out one thing I see so damn often that leads me to just not get frustrated with Paolo and rather frustrated with how we are working around him. This screenshot right here.
Every time Paolo gets the ball this is what he faces. Look at the paint and how tightly crowded this is. The best offensive players in the world are going to regularly struggle to attack this. And it is PURELY because of a lack of respect being given to shooters (and the lack of shooting in general). You cant scheme a way out of this. It’s a talent issue plain and simple.
YES
Good breakdown. I liked how you showed that Banchero’s most effective plays come from post or mid-post actions instead of settling for step-backs, and how the Magic’s spacing issues limit his options. I know people say spacing is everything, but I don’t fully buy that. It’s basketball—rules have changed, but teams used to deal with nine guys in the paint. The real issue is creativity and off-ball movement. This season it just feels like the plan is to play faster and shoot more threes, and we’re probably still near the bottom of the league in that. I’m not one of those people ready to give up on a 22-year-old like some are, acting like he’s a finished product or that he and Franz can’t play together. It’s basketball—figure it out, lol.
