MASSIVE MOVE 👀 Jaguars Trade Means The Texans Must Make Do Something To Contend In The AFC South
[Music] Welcome into Texans today and we have a massive trade to break down for you. Unfortunately, not for the Houston Texans. It’s for one of our AFC South rivals in the Jacksonville Jaguars. And you see it down below. They are trading for Raiders receiver Jacobe Meyers. We’re going to break that down. We’re als I’m also going to break down, you know, all the Texans that are in the latest NFL trade chatter, the latest trade rumors from ESPN’s Adam Shfter to maybe even Ricky Scoop. So, we’ll break all that down on today’s show. But reminder, I’ll be live here on the channel at 12:30 central time. So, pull up. I’ll be breaking down everything going on around the NFL trade deadline. If the Texans make a move, you know, we’re already going to break it down. So, let’s visit this trade and talk about it. The Jags getting some help in the receiver room. And maybe the biggest question is going to be, will Jacobe Meyers play this week. The Texans are slated to play the Jacksonville Jaguars this week on Sunday. I’ll also be live for that. Don’t worry about it. Um, but that’s the big question. Is he going to be ready for that game? The Raiders in return for Jacobe Myers get a fourth and a sixth round pick. They were wanting a third round pick, but I think the the two picks combined, a fourth and a six, you look at like the NFL trade value chart, might somewhat equal, you know, that of a third round pick around that, you know, area. But Jacobe Myers is a good receiver. He’s a good receiver. And I, like I said, the big question is, is this going to change this week 10 matchup? Because the Texans sitting at three and five, they don’t have a lot of room to wiggle in terms of losses for the rest of the season. They need to start winning games and a home game up against a division rival is where you got to start. And if Jacobe Myers is playing for this Jags team, obviously they know very well about Jacobe Myers, they played up against the Raiders this past week, won in overtime. I think he’ll add another element to that Jags offense and another weapon obviously for Trevor Lawrence. Really, I was really hoping the Texans were going to be making some uh, you know, moves to kind of move the needle, per se. But looks like it’s going to be the Jacksonville Jags as, as I mentioned, Jacobe Myers is no slouch. He is a good player for Jacksonville. And I think with him alongside Brian Thomas Jr., I know he’s had a down year in terms of drops and, you know, other, you know, areas of his game, but I think Jacobe Myers for this Jags team, that’s a that’s a good push. And this is showing you that the Jags, they are in win now mode. They are trying to make a push. The Colts, they lost this past week to the Pittsburgh Steelers. So, does that leave the door open somewhat for the Jags or another team to take over the AFC South in terms of what they’re getting in Jacobe Myers? These are his stats from the last four seasons, hitting a,000 yards for the first time in his career last year. And one big thing about Jacobe Myers, and you don’t see it on this graphic, last year, zero drops. You had to think that that was in consideration when the Jags ended up trading for Jacobe Myers is the fact that he is maybe one of the most shorthanded receivers in the National Football League. Something that Trevor Lawrence, this Jags team has had some trouble with. Although adding a Jacobe Myers to this squad adds another reliable weapon for Trevor Lawrence and adds another receiving threat in this Jags offense. you know, if if if he does play, which, you know, probably like he’s not injured, probably at some limited capacity will play this weekend up against the Texans, that’s going to be another problem for this Texans defense who had a maybe one of its best games of the season up against the Denver Broncos in a loss. This is a big move and I wonder if the Texans will make a move today to somewhat contend to somewhat, hey, push the needle in their favor. Coming up, I’m going to talk about some Texans that are in trade rumors that I’ve heard over the past 48 hours. Before I get into that though, couldn’t do today’s show if it wasn’t for our amazing sponsor over at Prize Picks. He went Braden Smith for Purdue. More on the assists. Trey Kaufman, Ren, more on the points and rebounds. And Cameron Boozer. Yes, you read that right. Boozer, the son of Carlos Boozer, making his debut for the Duke Blue Devils up against the Texans Longhorns. He’s going more on the points and rebounds. That should be a very good contest. Like I said, more than just football. They also have basketball, hockey, esports, anything you need. They have table tennis on here as well. Prize Pix has got you covered. Now, time to talk about your Houston Texans and guys that I’ve heard in trade chatter, trade discussion. Some of these guys obviously you’ve heard probably over the past month or so, two months, maybe even before the season started. Some of these guys might come as a surprise. The first one should come at a surprise to no one. Linebacker Christian Harris, he has been a healthy and active multiple games this year. He’s had, you know, very small impact for this team during the 2025 season on the last year of that rookie deal. So teams that need linebacker help, a healthy young linebacker in Christian Harris last year of his deal. The Texans will probably fetch maybe a sixth or seventh round pick, maybe six, seven, I don’t know, for a guy like Christian Harris, probably more closer to a seventh round pick or a late round pick swap. But he’s somebody that is indeed still in trade chatter for teams that are needing linebacker help. This is a name to look at. Another name that we have heard much as Texans fans, Damen Pearson. Kind of the same song and dance as Christian Harris, right? healthy and active for a lot of games is, you know, had some success in his career earlier on and then kind of faded out a little bit. And the Patriots are one team that I’ve heard has been very interested in running backs. And Damen Pierce’s name has um come up a couple times. So, he should be another name this team should look at and should consider to maybe trade around the deadline. You have Woody Mars, you have Nick Chub. The Texans, hey, they’re even in the market for looking for a running back. So, if you’re already looking for a running back, you’re probably looking to replace somebody like Damen Pierce, so why not try to get something from him on his way out. Next up, Deno Autry. He’s been great on special teams for this team this year. He’s had a sack. He’s also had two block field goals on the season, but you know, they reworked his deal, but still being named in some trade chatter. I don’t believe the Texans trade a Deno Autry, especially if they’re looking to contend. They wouldn’t trade this guy. And they sure as hell wouldn’t trade this next guy, Denil Hunter. I’ve had multiple of my co-workers come up to me and ask me about Denil Hunter over the past 48 hours. Our Bears host being one of them. I don’t think Denil Hunter gets traded. I don’t think in any way, unless the Texans are packing it in for this season, no chance they go ahead and trade a guy like a Denil Hunter. I don’t think that’s a possibility, but just a name I have to throw out because I have been hearing it a ton around the Chat Sports Studios. And lastly, Christian Kirk is another name that we need need to consider. And I don’t know if the Texans do make this move to trade away Christian Kirk, but I actually think this could be an addition by subtraction. Not saying Kirk is bad. Kirk is a good receiver. But it’s obvious when he’s healthy and in the game, they’re not going to play Jaylen Null. He got only 11 snaps this past week up against the Denver Broncos. Who got those snaps? Christian Kirk. They play the same position. They play the same role. And I know the Texans, they want depth. They want to have guys in case of injury. Obviously, the Texans have already dealt with some injury along that front for um you know, the wide receiver position this year already. And like I said, I’m not saying Christian Kirk is necessarily a bad player or somebody who I want to get rid of, but at the same token, if it means that we are not playing Jaylen Null, I’m okay with moving on from the veteran wide receiver. He’s still somewhat young, only 28 years old, and there’s a couple teams that still need wide receiver help. Could Christian Kirk be a name that comes up? Regardless of what happens, if the Texans make a move, if they don’t make a move, I will be live. So, if you’re watching this before the trade deadline, which is at um 3:00 our time, 4:00 Eastern on Tuesday, November 4th, make sure you tune in, pop into our live show here on Texas Today. Also the colts just traded for sauce Gardner
No way we make the playoffs. We need to position for next season.
Well the colts just got sauce
Jets just traded Sauce Gardner to Colts for 2 first round picks
And now Sauce Gardner is a Colt
Fuck making a move save our picks this season is over
Idk how much help but ok😂 he ain't help the Raiders
Just trade away the older guys. This season is over, let’s be realistic.
Crickets from the Texans is very concerning
Colts just got sauce gardner
Sauce Gardner to the colts 😭
No the bug eyes, big ears and nose Texans GM from the Vaunted John Carrol Junior High Team wan't make any moves now. He only likes to trade away our First round picks and bring in his O-Linemen that he remembers how good they were 10 years ago. Now they can't even get out of their own way. Then when he does draft O-linemen they aren't any good either. Let's get real. Everyone in the Universe knew we needed O-Linemen and then don't draft one until the 3rd round. Fire Caserio immediately and start searching for our next GM.
I wouldn't trade either one of them for a 7th. Maybe for a 5th. Don't trade Autry (even though I was for trading him earlier in the season). Trade Kirk and Berrios. We need to get the rookies up to speed this year cause this season is Toast.
First I was pissed but I think we are better at TE than O-line and RB. Maybe a better line backer than #39.
Man colts get sauce and jags get Meyers… we have to do something but I really doubt we do something.
Go freaking get Benito from the browns
The Only trades we should be interested in is for draft capitol this season is toast Davis mills is not beating the Jags
Why trade the young guys? Joe Mixon and that other running back are old most likely to retire in a year or two Damian Pierce is young he can at least be around for a while. That I forget his first name but the speed guy at linebacker he only signed a one year contract for 5 million why not keep the young guy Christian Harris whose contract now was for what three four years four or five million dollars keep him and sign him to a 3-year deal say worth 10 million. Because I think his name's EJ speed is 30 years old. And if the Texans were going to trade Daniel Hunter they should have traded for that I forget his name but that defensive end for the cowboys that went to the Packers we should have gave them to Neil Hunter we would have gotten that guy and just imagine having that ex-Cowboy defensive end and will Fuller who are both younger than Danielle Hunter coming off the line
OUR ONLY MOVE WE ARE GOING TO MAKE AT DEADLINE WAS EXTENDING JAKE HANSEN.
Play calling is stupid
I’m afraid our season is over with. So a trade at this point is a desperation move. I will always support the TeXans… but looking towards next year’s draft.
If Nick doesn’t make a move and he’s still on this we are going with what we got mentally he should be fired
colts just got sauce, now i start to question if we really wanna be great as a franchise. moves need to be made in the front office, start by letting go of nick caserio and nick caley because this team is dumpster fire !!!!!!!!
I dont trust Nick to do his job. He always says they are on the phone, but if your job is to get deals done to improve your team and your not then your failing at your job.
Brother this season is over. Why trade for anything
Seeing Kubiak in Seattle just shows you the Texans don’t mean business
So what the Texans are telling us is the season is done so they are just gonna try and run it back next year…….
Texans don’t need a trade for what it doesn’t make sense can they trade the Nick brothers
Texans are going to be sellers
If we don’t make a trade for a lineman or two, or a running back or a secondary player then Casario needs to be fired!!!!
Stop it bro! We don't need to do anything. This season is over
It's over for texans.
If you have any aspirations for this season, you must match the rival moves. If no aspirations tank this fiasco year.
Trade ceaario amd caley for a 7th round pick
If the Texans do make a trade, it better be to improve this offense line
This season is cooked 🤣🤣🤣🤣
NO OFFENSE UPGRADE ON THE LINE! EXCELLENT MOVE! 😞
If I were CJ, I would pull a Mixon and not play until they fix their shit. Already paid, hold out until they decide to actually get Olineman that will protect CJ
I could see trading everyone on this list for extra picks, except Hunter and Autry. But trading for another player isn't worth it at this point with how many "Ifs" this season has. If we hadn't started 0-3. If Mixon comes back. If the Oline and OC figure it out. If we hadn't lost the last game. If CJ plays next week. If the Colts lose some more games. Might as well start looking at O line and RB in the draft at this point.
