They’ll need to be because Gary has decided that Toronto doesn’t get power plays.
It’s so interesting that the leafs have massive roster turnover year after year yet are always the bottom of the league in PP time. Even completely different styles of play too.
I don’t think we do enough to appreciate how amazing Knies has been, given he was a 2nd round pick in a draft year where the Leafs only had 3 picks.
Hyman was good with the team, but I think Knies is an even better top line power forward that this team has needed for so long.
Nylander has been on fire, but I’m most impressed by Tavares. He’s still got it, and he’s on a solid contract.
That can’t be right… where’s Mitch?

I’m of the belief that the team will shoot 14.5% at even strength all season. Haters will say it’s unsustainable.
This is nice but we really need some depth scoring past Matthews, Tavares, Nylander and Knies. Domi and McMann just aren’t cutting it right now. We can’t rely on our top 4 scorers every single night.
If Florida, with their injuries stumbles through the year (and god willing misses the playoffs) then there is a legitimate chance for someone like us or Carolina to finally fucking break through. Tre needs to address our 2nd and 3rd line options above and beyond all other areas this year.
Two more players that are capable of potting 20 or close two would be at the top of my wish list.
Willy being a +8 is a nice turnaround for him. We’re getting used to his offensive dominance, but he’s picked up some of his d-play as well. I know +- does t necessarily indicate that at all, but it does reflect the other changes he has made that some metrics show as well.
But we have nO iDeNtItY
