1. I don’t know man, I feel that every year Giannis is being ref’ed worse and worse. Westbrook fucking head locked him and it was not called a foul, like, wtf. I appreciate Doc continuing to say something about it. We can’t wait until Giannis suffers an injury to really look into this.

2. I get not calling incidental contact as time runs out. But this is a tackle. Giannis needs to take the fine and get on a soapbox. Shit talk the refs, the league for allowing this, and then declare that he isn’t leaving Milwaukee unless it is for euro ball. The league can protect one of its biggest players, or he will play for a league that will.

3. On one hand, I don’t want to watch any game where there’s 70+ collective free throws awarded. That Kings game was such a brutal watch. But on the other hand, Giannis is without question being officiated differently this season. The leauge has to figure out why superstars who operate in the finesse / mid-range style are getting a quicker whistle than the guy getting beat up in the paint night-over-night. I’m not saying Giannis should be getting the most FTs in the league, but there has to be some type of course correction here

4. As Bucks fans who literally watch 95-100% of their games its really enraging and baffling. It appears as though there’s been an actual mandate to make Giannis miserable in Milwaukee.. cant come up with any other reason the refs would outwardly say “he’s playing through the contact” literally admitting to Doc that everyone isnt treated the same. I mean we’ve all known diff players get diff treatment its NBAs little dirty open secret but for them to come right out and say it is alarming as it shows intent and absolutely zero integrity or fairness. . Definitely worth investigating. If I was Doc id be shouting from rooftops the direct quote from the refs that “Giannis is playing through the contact 🤷” they tipped their hand dont let them or anyone else forget it. .

5. The Bucks need to file a ton of formal complaints about officiating with the league like OKC does.

6. This play was infuriating. You need to call the obvious ones in the open court. It also rewards Barrett for being an idiot. It’s dumb to be that close to Giannis sixty feet from the hoop, let alone trying to make a play. I’m fine if they call it a blocking foul instead of shooting, but at least call something. 

7. Giannis is treated differently than everyone else. The refs openly admitted to Doc that they don’t call a lot of fouls on Giannis because he’s strong enough to play through some of it. And then you have guys like SGA who gets to the free throw line if a defender even looks at him. He is out there bumping into defenders, creating the contact and getting free throws for it. It’s such bullshit.

8. Not to mention that hard “flagrant 1” on Giannis against the wizards too. He literally locked his hand and pulled him down while he was in the air.

9. We need some Longest Yard type “intervention” to solve this problem. Knock the ref in the nuts a few times with a good bounce pass and ask him to play nice

11. Yeah, that play was egregious. It almost seemed like they were trying to injure him. Meanwhile, they’re rewarding Raptors and Pacers players who try to run into the Bucks while flailing and throwing up a desperation shot. On the rare times they don’t get the call they throw up their arms and complain to the refs (don’t worry, never any tech unless it’s the Bucks doing it). Last night I remember Quickley flailing into the Bucks, and I think some other players did it too. It makes for almost unwatchable basketball when these types of plays are happening.

12. Giannis has the worst whistle in the league for how much he gets hacked. And it’s mostly because he never flops.

13. Fuck Adam Silver and the League for this. They’re going to end Giannis’ career early with this shit. I’m a ref (just lower level collegiate stuff) I was an AAU coach for about 8 years, and I played ball in college. I watch a dumb amount of basketball. This is some of the most fucked up shit I’ve ever seen. This officiating is blatant, dangerous, and straight up incorrect. It’s targeted, completely contradictory to the new measures the NBA has taken to “protect shooters” it encourages flagrant fouls and rewards flopping. It’s an absolute stain on the game. And yes, while Giannis has always been officiated differently – this season has upped the level of egregiousness. The League should be ashamed. And of course they’re not. I want more commentators or former greats to talk about this shit. I want every press conference of Doc’s to be like the Pacer’s one. And I want Bucks admin to not stop harassing the fucking league until this shit gets done. This isn’t how the game is supposed to be played. We were taught better as players, coaches, and officials. Have some fucking self respect refs. Pieces of shit.
