Hey, Dodgers fans. Today, we’re talking about a name that’s been circulating behind the scenes in Los Angeles as a possible replacement for Clayton Kershaw. The Los Angeles Dodgers have just captured the 2025 World Series title. It took seven intense games, but they managed to prevent the Toronto Blue Jays from lifting their first trophy since 1,993. The starting rotation played a key role in this historic achievement. Show Otani, Blake Snell, Tyler Glassno, and Yoshou Yamamoto all took the mound in the decisive game seven to seal the victory. With this triumph, the Dodgers became the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles since the New York Yankees in the early 2000s. The site heavy.com presented a trade proposal that could further strengthen the Dodgers starting rotation. The deal would involve acquiring TK Scubble from the Detroit Tigers. In return, the Tigers would receive Jose Paul Jackson Ferris, Mike Ceroda, and Gavin Stone. This move would give the Dodgers another ace for their rotation, adding another dominant left-hander now that Clayton Kershaw has officially retired from baseball. Skoo, 28, was the 2024 American League Sai Young award winner. He pitched in 31 games that season, including the first shut out of his career. By the end of the 2025 regular season, he had compiled a 13-6 record, an impressive 241 strikeouts, a 221 erra, and a 089 WHIP. His 241 strikeouts ranked second in MLB, trailing only Garrett Crochet of the Boston Red Sox. In exchange, the Tigers would receive three players ranked among MLB’s top 100 prospects, Jackson Ferris, Mike Ceroda, and Joe Depali along with right-hander Gavin Stone. According to Jim Bowden of asterisk, the athletic asterisk, there is a major disagreement between Scooble and the Tigers regarding a contract extension. Bowden revealed on October 23rd, 2025 that the Tigers had opened negotiations for a long-term deal with Skittle, but the team’s latest offer came up roughly a quarter of a billion dollars short of the pitcher asking price. That $250 million gap represents a significant shortfall by the franchise. Bowden set realistic expectations for Scoo’s next contract, considering him one of the two best pitchers in the game. According to his analysis, Scoo is poised to redefine the pitching market and become the highest paid starting pitcher in history with a realistic starting price above $400 million. Bowden believes it’s unlikely that the Tigers will reach that financial level. If that proves true, the franchise cannot afford to wait until the trade deadline to move him or risk losing him for minimal draft compensation next off season. Among the top potential suitors for the star lefty are the New York Yankees, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, and of course, the Dodgers. When the Dodgers won the World Series on Saturday, November 1st, Scoo shared his thoughts on social media. He simply wrote one word, incredible. That sparked plenty of speculation among fans and analysts. It wouldn’t be far-fetched to suggest that the lefty ace was impressed by the back-to-back champions. The Dodgers used a six-man starting rotation for part of the 2025 season. With Kershaw moving on to the next phase of his career, a spot is now open for another lefty to take his place. Kershaw’s departure marks the end of an era in Los Angeles. For years, he was the face of the franchise, a quiet leader who set the standard for excellence both on and off the field. His absence leaves a void that goes beyond numbers, affecting the clubhouse dynamic and the culture of competitiveness he helped build with his retirement. The Dodgers must rethink their leadership structure. Younger players lose a direct role model, someone who lived through every major chapter of the franchise over the past decade and a half. This transition requires veterans like Otani and others to take on more prominent mentorship roles, redefining the team’s internal hierarchy. Financially, Kershaw’s exit frees up significant payroll space. That flexibility allows the Dodgers to be even more aggressive in the market, whether by pursuing a hike caliber replacement like Scooble or by strengthening other strategic areas. Management now has more room to assemble an even more competitive roster for future championship runs. The legacy Kershaw leaves behind sets a high bar for whoever follows him. Any pitcher who wears number 22 or takes on the ace left-hander role will inevitably face comparisons to one of the greatest in franchise history. That weight can either motivate or pressure the next man up depending on how the story unfolds. As they showed with the signings of Otani and Yamamoto, the Dodgers aren’t afraid to spend big. Pulling off a trade for Scooble and then extending him long-term wouldn’t be out of character for this front office. Scubble would fill a strategic role in the Dodgers rotation while Kershaw brought veteran experience and leadership. Scubble would bring youth in his prime mentoring the best years of his career at age 28. The transition would feel natural, maintaining the intimidating left-handed presence that has long defined Los Angeles rotation. A rotation featuring Scooble alongside Otani, Snell, Glasno, and Yamamoto could easily become the most feared in the league. Each pitcher brings a unique style, and Scooble would add that perfect blend of velocity and surgical command that made him one of the most dominant pitchers last season. His ability to rack up strikeouts would ease the burden on the bullpen a crucial advantage in October. From a tactical standpoint, the Dodgers would gain flexibility for the postseason. With six elite starters, the manager would have the ability to tailor the rotation based on matchups, maximizing advantages against each opponent. Scooble has already proven he can shine in high-pressure moments, the kind of mindset that defines champions. The clubhouse chemistry would likely be strong as well. Scooble showed respect for the organization by praising their recent title, signaling that he shares the winning mentality that runs deep in Los Angeles. That cultural alignment would make his transition smoother and boost team cohesion. Acquiring Scooble would represent a long-term investment in the Dodgers sustained competitiveness. At 28, he still has his best years ahead, offering the franchise a potential decade long window of dominance that stability in the rotation is essential for any team aspiring to build a dynasty. Landing a pitcher of Scubble’s caliber would send a clear message to the rest of the league. The Dodgers aren’t content with just back-to-back titles. They’re building something bigger. That aggressive mindset attracts other elite players who want to join an established winning culture. From a developmental perspective, having Scooble on the roster would raise the standard for the Dodgers younger pitchers. Watching a Sai Young winner go through his routines, study hitters, and execute his game plan every day would be an invaluable education for prospects working their way up to the majors. Scoo’s presence would also shift the balance of power in the National League. With a rotation of that caliber, the Dodgers would automatically become favorites, not only to win their division, but to compete for championships year after year. That kind of sustained dominance creates psychological pressure on rivals who must constantly improve just to stay competitive. This trade would embody the organizational philosophy that defines the modern Dodgers. Giving up for valuable prospects shows that the franchise prioritizes winning now without sacrificing the future, balancing ambition with smart planning. It reflects confidence in the player development system to keep producing talent even after bold trades. For the fan base, moves like this reinforce the front offic’s commitment to excellence. Fans see a franchise willing to do whatever it takes to keep Los Angeles at the top of the baseball world. That aggressive approach fuels excitement and keeps engagement high throughout the off season. The proposed deal also highlights the Dodgers ability to identify the perfect moment to strike. Capitalizing on Scubal’s availability before other teams enter the bidding war before the Tigers change course shows sharp strategic timing. In baseball, timing is everything, and this move would prove the front office knows exactly when to pull the trigger. This negotiation also symbolizes a generational shift within the franchise. Trading prospects for an established star reflects the maturity of a team that’s moved past rebuilding and is now fully in championship maximization mode. It’s the difference between building for the future and dominating the present. The Dodgers are expected to maintain their aggressive approach throughout the off. The front office has made it clear they don’t plan to settle after consecutive titles and more strategic moves could follow to strengthen key roster spots. The mindset is clear. Every season is another opportunity to make history. Preparation for 2026 will focus heavily on roster depth. The Dodgers have learned that injuries and fatigue are inevitable over long campaigns, so expect them to invest in quality depth across the board. Having reliable options can be the difference between a good season and another championship. Building chemistry among the stars will be crucial in the coming months. With so much individual talent on the roster, the ability to play as one cohesive unit will determine how far the team goes. Spring training will take on added importance as they work to establish that rhythm before opening day. The pressure for a three repeat will be enormous, but the Dodgers seemed ready to embrace that challenge. The experience gained from recent championship runs, combined with their hunger to keep winning, puts the franchise in a prime position. The rest of the league will have to drastically raise its level just to compete with this powerhouse in the making. Looking at every aspect of this potential deal, it’s clear this would be a higher risk, higher word move. The Dodgers would be giving up a significant part of their true three top 100 prospects plus an established starter and Gavin Stone. The price is steep, but proportional to what they’d be getting in return. Scubble isn’t just a good pitcher, he’s one of the best in the game right now. Sai Young winners in their prime rarely become available. And when they do, the cost is always high. The real question isn’t whether he’s worth the investment, but whether the Dodgers can afford to part with that young talent without hurting their long-term development pipeline. In the end, this potential trade perfectly captures what has made the Dodgers back-to-back champions. The willingness to make bold decisive moves when opportunity knocks. If it happens, this could go down as the final piece that turned a great team into an unforgettable dynasty. But wait until spring training is long, but anything can happen before then. Stay tuned for more updates on this potential blockbuster that could reshape the Dodgers future next season. Now, we want to hear from you. What do you think? Should the Dodgers go Elen for Trick Scooble and give up those four promising players? Or would it be better to keep the prospects and explore other market options to replace Kershaw? 1. I don't believe that at all! Detroit can get WAY MORE for Skubal, then just prospects. I don't care how good they are, or how they're ranked in the Dodger system. You're talking about a star Cy Young pitcher entering his prime at 28! It's going to take a whole lot more than mere prospects. Remember, the Tigers have made the postseason the last two years, and Skubal was a HUGE part of that!
