Love that guy
I mean it was only a month or so ago that WIP was claiming that him wearing this gear was a reason he wanted to be traded away.
I hope the events of the last 24 hours puts into perspective that these athletes are human just like everyone else, and they all go through their own internal struggles and they all deserve to be looked out for. I’m sad that we are still in a place in society where even trying to acknowledge mental health is viewed as some sign of weakness.
Fuck, man. Regardless of team affiliation and friendly competitive banter, this one sucks. You give a kid, and I mean a kid, a ton of money and ask him to deal with all sorts of pressures that come with that paycheck and standards to adhere by. There needs to be a portion of money in every organization that is dedicated to wellness checks, mandatory therapy, fiscal courses. Fuck. It’s like giving a toddler a loaded weapon.
I just wish everyone would leave A.J. alone. Give the man a break, he’s awesome.
