Bill Belichick would take Giants’ job ‘in a second’ — ex-NFL columnist

  1. I’m not sure if I want the old man, but I’m willing to try anything at this point. And he would utilize those defensive pieces that is for sure. Would also probably fix the O line.

  2. Fcuk No

Let that man be a President Advisor kind of thing and move on . Don’t let him touch the roster . He will trade Nabers for a 5th

  3. For the first time ever this might actually happen.

If Giants fire Daboll but not Schoen then Giants will have to get creative for HC options.

  4. His girlfriend would be an upgrade over some of the current administration hate to say it.

  5. Bill is one of the most successful coaches of all time and has my upmost respect as one of the greatest minds in the game. That being said, I do not under any circumstances want this man coaching my team. Please have mercy we have already suffered enough😩

  6. He should have retired without any doubt of his credentials as GOAT coach. Now he is ruining his legacy in college football. Now people are asking the question “was it all Brady after all?”.
No thanks. DC yes please but his ego is too big for a coordinator role.

  7. Not saying he isn’t a skilled coach obviously, but I think a lot his success was predicated on the structure of the “patriots way” he built with Brady at the center holding it all together.

I just don’t buy he’s going to be able to put that together in the few years he has left coaching, with a  very new and different generation of players while in the midst of flaming out in his personal life and failing in college football.

  8. “Guy would take one of the most coveted jobs in sports”

    There fixed it for you

  9. I feel like this is where things are headed, but it’s far too late for it to work.

The last best time to get Belichick was in 2017 when things were bad between him and the Patriots and he called the Giants inquiring about whether McAdoo would be fired. But he and the Patriots patched things up (thanks to winning the Super Bowl), and the team hired Shurmur instead.

  10. Maybe 15 years ago sure, but that ship sailed a long time ago, please stay far away from us

  11. If that’s the case, wondering why the heck did they not at least kick those tires last year. The only guy I can see assembling and teaching a staff that can carry over for a few years. I don’t care about his baggage or personal life, that’s his, even if half the coach he was and without Brady, this is still a pure upgrade, and the type of rooted culture change the building and players need. Every damn player would be held accountable for a change and not just the former QB.

  12. Jesus Christ no.  I dont need the Jordon drama here.  BB isn’t just cooked, he’s well done

  13. The title is a little disingenuous. Nobody quoted or interviewed Bill, it is simply someone who knows Bill stating his opinion. That being said, I don’t think Bill would accept a job unless he had total control, which doesn’t seem like what ownership would do.

  14. Considering all the no responses here on reddit, that means he’s probably a good choice LOL

  15. Literally the only NFL job Bill could take where im like “Yeah, I think that could work” is the Bengals lol

  16. Bunch of bandwagons smooth brains in here.

He’s one of the best football coaches of all time.

He’s likely pissed his college football plan isn’t working out. BTW he can probably turn it around if he really wants to.

He’s now got something to prove again.

Hire this man. Both sides need each other.
