SF Giants owners still don’t f—king get it, and it’s infuriating

Eh, I think what he said sounded fine.
I dislike the Johnsons, but Dave Toebner is starting to remind me of Dieter Kurtenbach.
They both reek of “picked last in sports as a kid”, so their way of getting back at them is to trash the team through print
I think it’s just saying it to lay low at this point. It’s pretty clear Posey is allowed to spend or he’s just great at convincing them to given the Adames signing and Devers trade and it helps that he’s a minority owner so he has more pull than a typical President of Baseball Ops. Both those moves also came out of the blue so it seems like this front office likes to keep things internal and not let leaks/rumors out and are apparently great at that so I wouldn’t be shocked if they make some big splashes. Especially considering Vitello’s recruiting background and Posey’s ability to actually close they may be legit threats for anyone available instead of constant “finalists”
I don’t disagree with the argument that just spending money doesn’t guarantee you a title. If that were true the Mets and Padres would have at least made it to the WS by now. I just wish the money we do have was spent smarter, going towards developing and scouting instead of signing mid tier players thinking they’ll turn the team around.
