  1. > The Browns are 56-99-1 since bringing on DePodesta, who was hired in Jan. 2016 with the franchise arguably in worse shape than it is now.

  2. Someone tell me how to feel about this. We brought someone in outside the organization!… a football guy… from one of the most dysfunctional organizations in North American sports. So, yeah

  3. Padres fan here: I hope at least it’s fun? It can’t be worse than it currently is, right?

Hope the best for you guys, I remember when the Padres weren’t competing and it’s pretty sad, no fan deserves that (except dodgers, they’ve won enough).

  4. I can’t tell if I’m incredibly happy about this or incredibly upset that this isn’t 20 years ago…

  5. Who is the MLB equivalent of Deshaun Watson, and when can we expect them to sign with the Rox?

  6. This reads like someone in his circle told Monfort to hire a forward-thinking, analytical guy and Dick just googled “baseball sabermetrics people,” and in the end chose DePodesta because he’s the first result

  7. Lol. This is Dick being like “oh you don’t want a Montfort? Fine, I’ll pick someone even worse” just out of pure spite for the fans

  8. I wonder if this is why Forman and Sawdaye turned the Rockies down. Monfort wanted to bring in moneyball guy and Forman and Sawdaye weren’t interested.

  9. he brought the dodgers from 93-63 in 2004 to 71-91 in 2005 during his two years as gm of the dodgers, their only losing season of the 21st century. great hire /s

  10. So a horrific Browns stint that outdid a prior horrific Dodgers GM stint. Nice Rockies, nice. 2026 going to be real ugly

  11. Obviously there’s no way to judge a gm before they do anything, but at least this guys knows stuff about baseball. It could’ve been worse.
