We are now officially the worst red zone team in the league

  1. The real question: is Mike McDaniel (future Texans OC) just another whiteboard nerd or can he command the respect and discipline from the newly rebuilt oline going into 2026-27?

  2. WRs have a hight mismatch or beat defense. Nah let’s go up the gut for the 3rd time against the same goal line defense formation.

  3. In addition to being dead last in red zone scoring percentage (yes 32nd was a nice way of putting it given there are 32 NFL teams), we also have the distinction of being the only team in the league scoring touchdowns on under 40 percent of our defensive red zone possessions and one of just four teams under 50 percent. A stunning 1-10 red zone conversion rate in our five losses. Embarrassing: we only made it to the red zone ten times in those five losses. Super embarrassing: ten percent red zone conversion rate in said losses.

FFS we have two 6’4’ receivers, a dual threat RB in Marks, and Jaylin Noel…but can’t score from the one yard line?? But, hey, it’s first and goal so let’s just run down the middle and not convert. Ah yes and some more off tackle runs on third and one and fourth and one when OL is not getting any push.

Ah, yes, even more embarrassing: we scored a total of four touchdowns in our five losses and WAJ scored one of them.

Honestly, with Fairbairn out, I don’t see how our “offensive scheme” will exist.

  4. I honestly think we have the worst red zone culture in the league.

Not just this year either, hovering around 50% but I don’t have the time to deep dive stats.
