Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith demonstrates Jalen Brunson’s 4 levels of scoring | NBA Countdown

describing my game. My game is unorthodox. David Lane in the lane. Now you see him, now you don’t. Shake and bake. It’s a little offbalance. But once you’re off balance, good night, folks. It’s um unique, but it’s driven. The one thing I trust the most to my footwork. What be able to create space? I think it’s very key for me. Use my footwork, keep people off balance, and uh create enough space for me to shoot. Jaylen Brunson or perk, what do we usually call him around? Big body Brunson. Big Body Brunson. Well, he’s averaging careerhigh 29 points a game so far this season. He’s scoring over 30 points in four of the seven games he’s played. and he’s going to look to keep it rolling tonight against the Timberwolves team who is the 22nd ranked defense in the early goings here. So Kenny, he’s really uh getting it done though with some fancy footwork. Fancy footwork. You know that they talk about three level scorers. Y he’s a fourle score that makes him, you know, super unique. His ability to get to the place places the way he want. His court work and his vision and his ability to get to the spot. He shoots the three knockdown. You can’t leave him open. You get into the lane, he’s got the in between. The other thing that he also does, you get get off me and I can get direct lines to the basket. And lastly, I’ll put you in the post. And that’s post work. What’s that big body? What is it? What is it? Big body work. Freddy Bronson right there. So, I’m going I want to show you a little bit of how he does it. I wanted a real point guard to pass me the ball because I’m going to have a real point guard pass me. And so, we got a fake defender. This Florida&M grad, we got a fake defender coming out here. But what but what he does first is all a setup because he want to get you on his heel because he has a heavy pull-up. So he gets you on his heel. Hezi pullup. Now you’re off back. See how he created the space. The second thing is the Hezi drive. This is the second part of it. A hezy. Oh, I’m gone. I’ll see you later. I’m to the rim. So now he got you set up with both ways. And then perk, what is it? Big body brunch. Big body brunches. So from here, all he’s trying to get is either side on the angle. So if I get you on the angle, boom. Now, as you come and chase me, I can use my body the way Shil Shake Gildus Alexander does. Get you off me and I get my shot. Or I can do what Jaylen Brown does. And this is where the stain came. I can use That’s where the stain came. I can use I can use my head as a battering ram and get to the rim. And last thing, my point guard. Let me get the post. So now he’s a point over here, coach. We going to get over here. So now I’m in the post. His first look is always middle because he’s such a strong defender. So I get middle and now I turn and I he has the fadeaway jump shot. So four levels. Fifth level is at the free throw line. Coach, the unheard way to score. So he is a great great basketball player and I had weak defense on me and now that’s why he was able to get some buckets in here. Oh, come on now. Teddy coach was ready for moves on you. That’s all right. That’s all right. He was ready for that. No doubt. Here, here’s one thing I want to add. So, Mike Brown’s got a new offense. Yep. Ball movement. Yep. Lot of possessions. Male Bridges bring it up. Now, Brunson’s playing off the ball more, but I know this when the game was on the line, end of quarters. It’s going back to Big Body Brunson. Let him do his thing. He gets to his spots. He got the turnaround over the left shoulder, and he’s shown that he’s probably the best clutch player in the NBA. When you when you were playing against guys like himself, Shay, what was your defense when they iso? Did you go double or did you let them your your best defender say you got them all as gone? Well, you you can’t guard a great player one-on-one, right? They won. At worst, they got to see a crowd, right, Jet? They got to be boxes and elbows. Yep. And then if guys got a game going, then you got to send a body at him. Get the ball out of his hands and make somebody else beat you. You can’t let a great player beat you. Jason Hall for three wins the game, you going to shake his ass. But if Jaylen Brunson for three, it’s a good thing we got great. You’re yelling at everybody. Both sides of this one tonight. Not only do we get to see Jaylen Brunson, but Anthony Edwards, he is back in the lineup. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

  1. It's funny how you always see Kenny behind a desk and sometimes going to the board, but then you realise that he really need to walk in his life..maybe even run and do some sports. With those legs XD

  2. Wow I've never seen Perk so quit in segment before. Maybe he realizes now that those guys have joined the network and are coming on different shows. That his job maybe in jeopardy and he can't afford to have them dumb takes that he normally has bcus those guys won't hesitate to call him out on it and make him look stupid
