Would this trade offer from the Cubs get the Tigers to listen in the Tarik Skubal trade sweepstakes?
Does this get you in the conversation? If I were to offer you this and Cub fans, you okay with this? Um, Jackson Wiggins, who is the young fireballing pitcher who everybody wanted and they didn’t want to give up? Keep going. Owen Casey, who is your lefty right fielder with pop, who apparently everybody wanted and you didn’t want to give up. Keep going. Matt Shaw, your young third baseman with five to six years of control. Keep going. Who can start? Well, then you’ll go to additional young pieces, but those three are the centerpiece of your offer. And then you see where you have to go. And then, by the way, as your team building, you go out and you get yourself a third baseman with some pop, like I Heno Suarez or Alex Bregman. Well, yeah, Bregman, but I don’t know that they’re going to go as long as that is going to go. So, you’re thinking like a two-year or threeyear deal on Suarez? I bet Suarez you might be able to get for a one in one at his age, a one year with an option, considering what the market’s going to be. And you could pay 25 mil for a third baseman who’s capable of hitting 40 45 homers for you and has dominated at Wrigley every time he’s played there. So, you’re adding power at third base even though you’re trading away Shaw and you’re adding Scooble. And then because Scoo’s money is manageable, you can go get another starting pitcher. And you should. I know that Colin Ray just re-uped, but they should go get another one. Another free agent righty who can miss some bats. They need some righties. I know. I know. But that’s my starting point for a scubble deal. Any Cub fans who don’t want to give up that much, I’d be interested. I think I would be too because it’s one year and I know that people love to hump the prospects big prospect humpers around here but I that guy is more than a known commodity and with the lack of money that he’s making I feel it would be worth it and your rotation becomes really fascinating. Yeah. If you’re if you’re Boyd and Cade Horton and Justin Steel and TK Scooble and Jameson Tyion, that’s that is a serious potential rotation.

Too much. Cassie is going to replace Tucker and Shaw is already a top defensive player.
Cassie trade em, Wiggins trade him. Shaw no way.
I would build Cubs rotation like this: trade Steele or Horton plus some other small pieces for Skubal , sign Kelly to 2 year contract. So you got Skubal, Horton/Steele, Boyd, Kelly , Taillon, Rea, Assad, Wicks.
Trade Shaw and whatever prospects it takes. Prospects are never guaranteed. Skubal is the real deal. Move Busch to 3rd he was a prospect at that position. And sign Alonso to play first
About trade ian happ i don't not care he have no trade clause cubs need hitter 400 Avg player
NO! ABSOLUTELY NO
Absolutely. There is no wayvto know that any prospect will ever be anything like Gary Scott and Josh Vitters and Kevin Orie and Brennan Davis and Mark Prior and Felix Pie and Esop Choi and many more.
Let’s trade everyone and then have him need Tommy John next year and pitch like Alcantara of Miami last year in ‘27. Plus he needs a new contract too which the Cubs don’t like to hand out when it’s 200+ mil. Hard Pass.
Gets you in the conversation, but what then? No RF (Seiya?), no 3B, no King Tuck. Great rotation, no hitting, no runs scoring.
Nah he want the big bucks
no no and hel* no. too much to give up
Prospects are just that, prospects. Not proven. That’s what drives me nuts about cubs front office. If you have a chance to land one of the games best pitchers for guys who haven’t proven anything yet you do it! Trust your scouting dept to be able to find and replace those prospects.
