NHL Highlights | Blues vs. Sabres | November 06, 2025

Yeah, he came in the building raring to go, too.
Yeah, he’s fired up. He’ll join us later in the broadcast and that’ll be a pleasure to have
him join Razer and I on the call here tonight. Speaking of the call, we are underway. St. Louis
with a much different lineup than their fans have been used to seeing as far as the setup.
There’s Navage, Thomas, Alexander, Texier, the top line. Savers with the fourth line out
there skating from left to right and it’s Buffalo on the offense first pass back to Samuelson for
Dolene with the shot and Hoffer makes the stop on the rebound. Valenstein and then to go along
with the effort and the execution and a lot of other things. So I think he was kind of in a
way making excuses for him a little bit. So he’s challenged his group here especially on the effort
you see line changes so it makes a big difference. Holloway trying to get after it along with Hugh
Sudter. Come back to the point. Shot stopped by Lucan and he’s able to see that one all the way.
So flipped in by Dene Hoffer playing that puck to the corner. Early pressure down low by Buffalo and
that wins the puck back. Dene takes the pass. Nice move with a backhand shot and Hoffer able to make
that save behind where you can sneak right here. Tough move by the goalender putting his D in a
bad position right there. Leads to a turnover. And here’s Dene showing a lot of patience coming
through the middle. Just steps around his man Stucker that he goes around right here and then
just backhands it to the net. So Sabres with a keep in the St. Louis zone. Shot from the point
is blocked and now Torchenko had a short-handed goal last night on the rush to the net. Stop
by Lucan into the rebound is picked up. Yeah, they’re doing a good job here getting back getting
the puck but attacking quick. No hesitation. They’re trying to get up the ice trying to catch
St. Cloo as they’re coming in their direction. Malenstein for Doug. Malenstein with a chance
all the way at center. Can’t make it up ice. And now Queen comes back left side. Cuts into
front. Here’s Dome. Penalty coming up on the play as Dome made the move. The penalty call
was made. Two attempts this year. 19% 20th in the NHL. St. Louis Blues controlling the puck for
Thompson. This time Tage over on that left side. Good support play by the Savers as Josh Stone
gets it back. Goes to the net between the legs. Jens in front and somehow comes up with
the save on that one. He got the glove up there and somehow keeps this game scoreless.
Between the legs with a pass to Dome. Yeah, watch this. He just slides it right across cuz
he knows Dome’s coming and he does the right thing trying to get that puck up and over
the pad and he does. Holy Her right there. Boom. Hover loves that one out of the air, but
nice job taking 56 seconds to go on the Savers power play. The Blues did get a short-handed
goal last night as I mentioned earlier. Savers on entry this time on the left side.
Pressure at the point and a turnover in trouble here perhaps as the Blues look to
counter. Here’s a chance and they get a shorty again. Backto- back games. This time,
Matthew Joseph makes it one- nothing. You’re not taking advantage right here. Turn over
at the blue line like this. Jack Wind does his best to get back and try to make the best of
it. But Joseph just able to tuck that when you’re on the line right there. Boom. That’s got to go.
You got to maybe even a little deeper there. So, if you do turn the puck over, it buys a little
more time and you’re only about four or five ft inside the blue line if you create the turnover
there of this night. Sabres bump it back. 20 seconds to go in the power play. Torchenko is
going to have a chance here to spring the Blues this time. The shot is stopped and held on to.
We’ll finish a bit of a change here as Fowler puts it deep into the Buffalo zone. Shannon is
after it. He comes off with it. Shot from the far side stopped by Lucin. Now Power looking
rink wide. That’s tape to tape. Dunn has to hold the line as Byron was up. done with a
blast and that one is stopped and held on. The Blues of course off it happens in sports.
They get the goal after the Sabres. Looked like they were going to put one in and that one goes
off the post as Tage from up top. Battle on the wall with 15 seconds. Now 12 seconds remaining
in the period. Kept in at the line. This might be big. Catch the ring. Watch out. Fires a shot
and the glove again is there by Joel Holford. Strong stick work along the wall there and the
Blues converge twoon-one but in behind the net. Malenstein tried to stop that one to the far side
before it’s picked up by the Blues who being on Western Canada. What led to that decision back
in your Well, it you know at that point um half the team in North Dakota was Alberta BC kids. It
was Western Canadian bred. And the one thing Beck learned faster than most people is exactly
who he is as a player and he embraces that and he goes out and gives you that every single
shift. And uh it’s not about creating more skill, it’s about creating more. Getting behind the St.
Louis defense. Now the Blues counter with a nman rush already up one- nothing. Two on the rush.
Fus goes to the net. Save by Lucadin. And that puck will come outside the zone. Yeah, you look
for that infectious play from guys like Valenstein as leads through a lineup and that shot is going
to bleed through Lucin and it’s two nothing St. Louis and Nick Fad there. He’s going to curl and
drag this one and just kind of looks like Lucinan might have got a piece of it. Maybe his fourth
goal of the year here. Sometimes it’s just is it’s not a matter of making the big play just
getting the puck to the net and the quick shot right here. They’re in a good position. Goender’s
got lots of time. He’s out front. You just get the puck to the net, good things are going to happen.
Yeah. And there’s no qu and this guy can shoot the puck. He has for a long time in this league. So
this puck management again, you know, you turn it over in the neutral zone, you’re going to give
up a shot. There’s no question about it. So uh I would have never played field hockey if it wasn’t
for Gino Gas Brady and University of North Dakota for sure. Save made by I was waiting for the name.
I was going to say who was it? A teammate, a coach or someone that kind of dragged. It was a whole
group of guys that held each other accountable but also went to war for each other every night.
Penalty coming up here as St. Louis player tripped up and the Sabres are going to go on the kill. Pat
Quinn was a GM back then. I think he was. Yeah, he made me cry a few times. Yeah, I can imagine.
Big Irishman that look I remember the night he came in. Thyson on that far wall needs some
support. He finds it now. The Sabres moving around. A power for a shot, but that glove hand,
the left hand of Joel Holer’s been great. Good stick that time by Cam Fowler. Stops the rush and
Faulk will bring it back for St. Louis. Right side of the Buffalo zone. Shot stopped by Lucin. The
rebound up for grabs here at the side of the net. Savers with no goals on 13 shots. Blues two goals
on now 10 shots against Lucan who leaves it at the side of the net. Yeah, and that was something
the coaches talked about between periods. They thought they generated some good looks, just not
capitalize on them. And as you’ve mentioned too, quite a few times. Here’s Quinn with a shot.
You need a second chance. And right there, that rebound popped out just behind Kak. Bro
for the Blues off the faceoff win. Plays it up the wall. Hollow all the way with Pudter and
Shen. And there’s a glove save made by Lucin and he’ll hold on to that one. That’s not
good. Pass up to center. Tuck will drop it back. Here’s Mloud working on Fowler in front.
Tuck with a shot and Herford comes up with a pass save. Pass to the far circle. Tuck off the
wall from Mloud. Here’s Don in front. Dolene near circle with a shot off the post. And in the post
getting in the way of this one for Rasmus Dene, but they’re on the power play when we
come back. Whoever comes out next got to follow the shift off. They got a little
momentum. It’s Greenway who gets the zone. Quinn curls pass to the far circle. Chance
in front for Kak. And that puck pops free. Center ice carrying in over the line. Here’s
Byron following in. And that shot just goes wide to the net. Got to finish. You got to get
this first one here. And I think by getting a first one in this game might change your ties
a little bit. Shot from the line. Holer save is there. They had their chances at it. Rosanne right
there trying to whack it in. If you got a lane, fire it. There’s Paul just takes a quick look.
Two passes right there. Bang. It goes to the front of the net. You like to see maybe get
out front of that net. You seen Rosanne move off to the side looking to get a a piece of that
one. The puck comes back to him, but you want to get Dylan Holloway plays it to the far corner
now behind the net. Look in front. They score. standing right in front of Lucinan. Snugarude
and it’s three nothing St. Louis. Snugarude’s going to get his fifth goal of the year here.
St. Louis Blues is just throwing this puck to the front of the net. But you see how Snugaroo
is he’s left there all by himself. He has to take that out of his skate, pump it up to
his stick and still has a time just to get a stick on it and put it inside that right
post. Referees are talking this over Razer for some reason here. Yeah, they’re pointing
at center ice, but they are taking a look at review determine if this was a good goal. After review after review determined that
the puck was kicked in Oh, go a break there. Definitely directed and the they’ve determined
kicked. Perco steps down to the right side. Dylan Holloway down to the far circle. Sabres taken
away from him, but Pareo at the point sends it to the net. That’s off the post by D’vorki,
but the Savers win it back. Tage Thunson turning away from traffic. Here comes a shot and another
post by the Sabres. That might be the headline of this night. Power brings it up top. Here’s
Rosane with a shot in traffic in front. Rebound chance. The net is knocked off and it might
have been Holer that knocked it off. Well, now we’re getting other mentions in at the line.
The Blues Snugaroo Thomas going to walk right in. Save by Lucin. Sers with possession and back
now to full strength with a minute 12 to go. And Lucan has gone to the bench. Yeah, it’s only
the third shot at net for St. Louis here in this third period. There’s a leave at center and
Buffalo’s got to get possession here at the St. Louis blue line that’s fired into the back of the
net. Joseph F after the block and the Sabres just could not settle it down to get proper possession.
A very desperate team here in St. Louis, but hey, you’ve had you had chances. You had plenty of
chances. Krabs gains the line trying to go up the middle. Groberg takes the puck away
with four seconds and that will do it. Horns on this one three nothing in the
final. Yeah, heading on the road here.
