Vikings Made The Right Call! #shorts #minnesotavikings
I do just want to get, you know, this take out here because I have seen a lot of Vikings fans saying like, “Oh, why didn’t we trade for Sauce Gardner? He was out there for the taking. Why didn’t Quizzy go out there and give out two first round picks?” It would have been organizational malpractice if the Vikings gave up two first round picks for Sgardner. One, you are in no position to give up future draft capital, especially two first round picks for a guy like Sauce Gardner. A very, very good corner. But he’s also taken a step back the last couple of seasons. And also Sauce Gardner just signed the highest or the biggest quarterback contract in NFL history this off seasonason. The Vikings are strapped against the Cap. They could not have handled that contract. And maybe this year they could have handled it, but next year absolutely freaking not. So I don’t know why some Vikings fans are freaking out on Twitter saying, “Oh, why don’t we go trade for Sauce Gardner? Like that was our guy. We should have traded for him. It would have been a terrible decision.

Many of those people weren't around for the Hershel Walker trade. We gave up a ton of picks to the Cowboys, got a RB that couldn't cross the field on his own the next season, and the Cowboys got three Super Bowl rings out of the deal.
I’m with you but there’s a decent counter argument.
The “cost” isn’t as high as it appears. If you keep Sauce for a season, theoretically you could trade him at the end of the season and get both your firsts back, your firsts you trade are probably later in the draft and the firsts you get in the offseasons are probably earlier than they would have been if you didn’t make the deal.
So the “cost” is somewhat imaginary/theoretical. I don’t know that you can say no cost, even if you think you net more than you pay because there is the possibility of injury or decline. And you have to cut someone and although you get their salary you have the financial cost this year.
I remember a similar situation where we didn’t trade for Jalen Ramsey. I thought that was a much bigger mistake because our defense couldn’t win a coverage and so Zimmerman lost what made him special and that was in 2018 I think which was the beginning of the end of Zimmers dominance the defense was aging, and we had invested so much around Cousins and the offense.
The thing about the cap is you can perpetually defer it and the cap inflation will pay it off. It’s never as bad as you think especially if you are good at trading players for draft picks later. I don’t feel Kwesi is good like Spielman was at getting the most value out of his players in trade markets. People said we had no leverage with Harvin or Diggs and look how much Spielman got out of it.
We only get second or third round talent for our first round picks anyway
It being malpractice is why I was surprised Kwesi didn’t do it😂😂😂
WHY NOT? ITS NOT LIKE KWESI CHEEKS CAN DRAFT
Agreed keep your draft picks. However, the season shakes out for us and don’t go crazy trying to pick up expensive players that may not help us in the end.
If ima be real.. with the way kwesi has been drafting and like almost 0 of his draft picks turning into something (Dallas turner with the exception being behind 2 other stud offball) but regardless I think we can trade away draft picks
I’m a Vikings fan but like the Jets fans we are pretty simple..
Unbelievable!! 2 first round picks! 🤣
We kinda suck at drafting…. Maybe take the proven young talent? A lock down corner in B.Flo’s defense would unlock another level to his scheme too
No but the should have gone hard for Williams and or Hall
It does make a lot of sense. We would’ve been going backwards to the Zimmer era. Actually, we just got back financially from all those high contracts that were given out back then
Bro we've missed on most of our first round picks When you miss you're better off trading them away to get guaranteed talent
Trading 1st round picks are for quarterbacks not corners
Bro what are talking about if u see him against are JJ we should got him the u talk about him ur no position to talk 😊
Who better could we have drafted, taking into account this organization's record on drafts?
I wish they would have got Breece Hall and maybe Samuel Jr.
I know vikings fans are going to hate hearing this, but we can't pay both Jefferson and Addison big money. One of them has to be traded.
Never give a first round for anyone
Sauce ass!!
Two firsts is way too much and we also can't afford his contract. It's not even a consideration.
Some fans aren't dealing in reality
2 first round picks, plus huge monies for a corner is a little steep. The Jets got a deal, the Colts must be feeling the superbowl this year because they just mortgaged their future for this season.
