  13. I doubt it. You would think after how the niners fans took over the stadium that someone was going to be canned. Plus the defense is the side that let the opponent score 33 point in ONE quarter. If anyone was going to get canned it would have been Bowen not Daboll.

  26. I see no reason at all to fire Daboll midseason. Say what you want about his game and roster management, but I genuinely believe he is good for Darts development. Who is going to be HC for the rest of the year if Daboll is gone? Kafka? Bowen? You guys realize those are the options mid season, right? They aren’t going to make an outside hire in November because your options are much more limited than in the off-season. It would be an extremely dumb move. Do they need to move on from Schoen and Daboll, yea. Do they gain anything by doing it now instead of in the off season, no. In fact they likely reduce the ability to help Dart develop.

  32. I know this sounds too crazy to be true, but iirc Mara has been quoted as wanting to “Fire Everyone” after they collapsed in the second half of the 2014 Jaguars game. So this is in character for Mara.

  42. Yes, it’s finally happening. I am not celebrating a man’s eventual firing, but it was more than enough. Ownership should be pissed; they stuck their neck out to retain Daboll, he convinced everyone or attained the benefit of the doubt from others, that it was all the QB which was not entirely accurate and they allowed the star RB to walk and let them can what they viewed as a solid franchise QB at least as a representative of the franchise which you know Mara was very high on DJ the person and hoped the on field stuff would have worked out better.

    Of course, he is thinking I should have replaced you last year, now I have to endure this crap, you sicken me and I’m embarrassed to call you the coach for example. The season still hung in the balance at that point, they might have had a chance at turning things around and had at least a meaningful game in Dec, now it’s kind of moot so whatever, but it was not just a knee jerk reaction, it also would have sent a statement. Which probably should have been sent. Mara understands the implications this has for the locker room and culture moving forward. The optics were already bad heading into the season.

  44. I’d give Schoen 2 more years with another coach. I’d let go Daboll and Bowen, promote Kafka to interim HC. You get a chance to look at Kafka for the rest of the season and it shouldn’t affect Dart’s progress.

    From what I have seen, most of what Dart has done has usually been on the back end of a broken play and not by design, so whatever scheme is being put out there is not getting it done. He should be fine as long as the playbook and terminology do not change.

    Bowen has had too much time with his failed defenses. His inability to have his players prepped is beyond grievous at this point. When other teams talk about how basic your defense is, it should be something of concern. You’d thing a generational record collapse in a game would be enough to get anyone fired, let alone someone that has had a history of failure.
