NHL Highlights | Capitals vs. Penguins – November 6, 2025
Sheilops has a lot to do with it, but there’s a lot of excitement in Pittsburgh behind Sheilovs, the backup goalenders, 21-year-old Sergey Murashaw. He’s their hope for the future, and they’re excited to have him here. And as you said, over 32% on the year, second best in the early going. Malin snaps one out in front. There’s a shot off the post. Rust rings it off the iron. Back over to the captain and down to the goal line to Malcin. Malcin quickly back up to Crosby. Carlson thought about a one-time shot pass instead. Mal get it right back to Carlson. The puck smartly moving around on this power play for Pittsburgh and Rust. He was the shooter. Kendall seen pass score. [Applause] Kindle to Crosby. A power play goal. And the Penguins have the lead. 21 for Crosby. Carlson’s going to start this up at the top. I was thinking about Ben Kindle here. He’s on the ice with three Hall of Famers and Brian Rust who’s such an excellent player, but there’s no secondguing to Kindle’s game. He’s so confident when he gets the puck. He already knew that. There is Laz pocket picking and he’ll take off the other way. Lazad across the line with a drop that long wrist shot stopped and a rebound stopped by Lindred. Loose in the blue paint. Lang skates onto it and controls for the Penguins. A tie up behind the net and a takeaway. Hendricks Lapierre on the move plays it up top. Sandine a little shimmy shake shoots and gets through and a rebound stopped by Sheilops on Milano and he escapes. Mcichael speeds across the line. Makes it off the back board forwards and it’s handled by Wilson. Tied up. Still got the puck to Mcichael from his knees to ProS who controls off the blocker of Sheilops. The quick wrist release from Prous. He’ll try a one-time and this time fans on it. A break. Here’s Crosby looking for a second. Save made. That might have caught the helmet of Lingren. That was Kindle with the pass again. Right up the gut. He recognized Crosby was clean and Lingren makes a good stop. Clifton. A good stick at the Penguins line. Flip to Rust. He’s around Stro. Rust moves in. Hit the post. His second post here in the first period on Matt Kendall. He chips it just wide. Great puck movement on both power plays for Pittsburgh. They scored on their first. Rust in the bumper. It’s Carlson. Shot s. Guess who the captain does it again. Two nothing Penguins. 39 year 38 years old. He’s got 11 goals already on the season. Look at him around the front of the net. one of the best in the game around the front because he can tip the puck and react to it much quicker than the players he’s competing against. Lingren makes a really good save. This was a high tip out in the slot. Carlson’s shot is deflected there by Rust. Lingren can’t catch it, but he knocks it down. Crosby sneaks in behind center circle across the line. Wilson gets a return on net. She gobbles it up. Where is it? He’s not sure. snaps the pads together to keep it off the goal line. Here is Rust. He’s hit the post twice here in the first period. Across the line, Lazot Rust heads to the net. Shot save made by Lingren. Traps it with the glove. We’ve got play very simply together, very easily together. And the Penguins are reaping the benefit of a high octane start again. Two goals and a two nothing lead. ESPN bet is the sports book for sports fans. and then hands it off to Gore off the stick of Carlson. Lazot there first again up in the air. Kept on side for the moment by Braves. Novak has it. Novak to the backand save. Lingren the rebound. Score. Novak chased his own shot. Squeezed it past Lindren. Three nothing Pittsburgh. Unless Anthony Ma tipped it. Fresh team and a tired team. Jim D or Nick Da does not normally make this play. He goes to the puck at the blue line. He tries to poke it by Graves. And now you’ve got three Capitals outside the blue line. Everybody thinks the puck is going out of the zone. You should not leave before the puck is out of the zone. Can’t get it past Memphis. Kept on side to Thomassino. Floats one to Latang. And now Kven towrag shoots save. Lindred does not know where the puck is. Carvin and digs at the rebound and Carlson spins it up the boards. Been banged up pretty good here. They’ve got five guys that are out of the lineup that would normally be there. Ricard Raquel, you know, from early in the year. They lost to Char the other night. Stro shoots, score. Dylan Stro picks the corner off the shoulder of Sheiloffs. The goal the Caps needed to get back in it. It’s now 3-1. Stro flings this puck. It comes off the toe of his stick right where the curve is and it goes right up over top of the shoulder of Sheilos. This is an excellent Capitals for check. Bollier jumps in first. Stro pinches the wall off and as the puck is just shoveled up the boards. Carlson turns it back. Leonard skates to stick. Froas heading to the net. Leonard couldn’t get it to him. Room for La Pierre. Carlson called for the puck in front. Leonard backhander. Oh, Brian Leonard pulled it to the backand got Sheiloffs to commit. So, we’ll get a look here on the entry. There’s Waters Spoon who’s going to get a stick on the puck right here. The puck goes backwards. Oh boy. I think super close. But I after coaches challenge video review, the play was offside. There is no goal. Please 553. And it costing them a power play if they get it wrong. And it’s amazing the success rate. They usually don’t make the decision to challenge unless they are very confident they’ve got it right. Ouchin across. Drops for Stro. There’s a trailer in Sandee. Score. How about that? The Capitals answer and make it a one-goal game. Nothing lead. And then the leaks start. Ovetkin’s got his second assist on the night. Dylan Stro’s got a goal and an assist. And this one goes right through the legs of Arto Sheilovs as Rasmus Sandines shot deflects off the left pad. It’s in the net and the Caps have found their game here in the middle period. They’ve got a pair. Ovkin with the setup. An extra pass by Wilson and the miscommunication with Stro. Wilson waiting for it. This time he eyes the net on the move instead. It’s Stone. Chick down low hooked in front. Ouchin digging for it. Stro puts in the blue paint. Wilson score. We’re tied. 3.6 to go in the second. And Wilson nuts it at three. Like the Penguins third goal when the Caps didn’t get it out of the zone. This time Kindle doesn’t get it out of the zone and the play gets turned around. All kinds of traffic around Arthur Sheila as he’s trying to seal the post, but Wilson’s shot squeaks in. A threegoal second period for the Caps. down 3 nothing. They’ve come all the way back and Tom Wilson who said it would be a dream to be on the Canadian% to end the second period looked like he may have tweaked one of his legs on a butterfly save earlier in the period. Just as good a stick bringing up the tang. And now door brings it across with a new twig. Der shoots off the post. Door almost with the new twig. cross corner. Stro glides in first. Tried to move it back to the point. Waters spoon said no. Now it’s hooked up top. Ouch. Fires one and a save made by Sheilson. Look to chip ahead to Wilson. That’s taken right back by Eric Carson. Here’s Kindle flying in. Gets to the goal line and uses the wall. Malin sniffs one down low. Beautiful pass. A finish by Rust and Pittsburgh got the lead back. The power play goal. Just came into the game. It’s the second ranked power play. Eric Carlson after he turned it over to John Carlson reads John’s pass. Intercepts the puck. So the Penguins are quickly into the zone. If Kenny Malcolin’s pass is a beauty. Cross seam. This is such a difficult one-time for Brian Russ. Remember back in the first period, Bobby, he hit two goal posts. Nothing to show for his efforts in the first Russ and Kindle. His second assist for Kindle as he opened it. Crossover by shoot kick save. She loves and it’s in the corner. There he goes as we say. Heads to the bench. Extra attacker on. Shot off the outside of the net by Farraari. It is Ovetchkin. He’s the extra attacker. Empty net. Just as soon as Charlie Lindren left the crease, Conor Der had played together here. Connor Der gets to the loose puck as it comes around the boards. It’s his fourth. It was three nothing Pittsburgh. A three-goal answer by Washington, but a response by the Penguins here in the third period. Four or more go in the third straight game for the Penguins. [Music]
Bryan Rust scored his fifth goal and had three points on the night, Sidney Crosby scored twice in the first period, and the Pittsburgh Penguins took a 5-3 win over the Washington Capitals.

crosby and ovechkin switching roles tonight
Almost blew it again boys!!! That was close 😅🐧🐧
Лингрен чудит, да и вообще не выручает в начале этого сезона. Зачем ставить его в рамку матч за матчем. Видно же что с Логаном команда играет более спокойнее.
Hockey won.
Almost blew it but love how fun the pens are to watch this year. Kindel is looking like the biggest steal of the '25 draft
The Pens seem to have the offense down, but really need to focus on
that defense, especially with 2 or 3 goal leads in the game. Two
straight 3 goal leads and they let both Toronto and Washington back
into the game. These games almost guarantee a big crowd in
Pittsburgh or Washington. Every fan of either team wants the
bragging rights in this series. Great Hockey game.
Malkin Crosby Ovie still duking it out in 2025 is crazy
Кросби на голову выше Ови. А Малкину ещё рано на покой
🐧 -💪💪💪
Pens I’ll take the win but WTF!!!! Why just why do yinz keep losing these 3 goal leads 😡😡😡
It’s been happening to often and driving me INSANE!!!
Молодцы Нэшвил, сумели😂!!
Pens be feverish
Not another 3:0 great game to lose 😅 happy for the team, doing great
Penguins look legit this year.
OMG Lindgreen very bad last games
LFG PENS! Best hockey I've seen from them in a while … love it!
Thought they were going to blow another game for a minute there. Can we just have a game where we win decisively without it being a nail biter to the end?!
I hate the way commentators and even fans talk about Silovs. He clearly knows very well he has a lot to carry on his shoulders and although he's had his bad moments he never stops fighting. The way everyone keeps highlighting how Murashov is "our hope for the future" is extremely damaging in my opinion. Murashov is so young and although extremely talented his confidence should be protected. Silovs is also super talented and resilient yet the media humiliates him. Bad situation:/
Lot of empty seats…….?
Опять "проклятие питсбурга" для Вашингтона😢😢😢….
Go Pens❤🎉🎉🎉
pens fans acting like its the stanley cup lol…. pens look good tho, hope these two teams have one more playoff series while the legends are still around, would be a great swan song
Can anyone explain to me why you can always hear EK65 in the broadcast? lol night after night you hear him screaming at people, is he just that loud?
That arena was loud tonight! Love it!
Penguins hanging in there & not getting mentally boomed after giving up 3 straight goals is a great sign for this season.
The Best 🎉
Sid still have best reflex in the league That was close… again… Don't to this anymore! Go Pens! 🐧
Овешкину пора в кхл
It’s unbelievable how many things happened in the first part of the game that was identical to the game against the maple leafs… 3-0 lead. Complete domination until the third goal went in, several chances to make it 4-0 that didn’t go in or missed the net, and then after the first goal for the opponent goes in, the goals just never stop. But what saved us was that it happened slightly earlier this time and they had an intermission to regroup. Thank goodness they didn’t let it derail them this time, and I give them a lot of credit for going back out there and winning the game.
I don't understand why they always replace goalie in 2 min to finish. That would make sense in last 30 seconds, when there's nothing to loose, but 2-3 minutes is usually ends game, otherwise they could play extra couple of minutes which they've lost
I started following hockey more closely at 10 years old, in the 2006-07 season. Crosby and Ovechkin were already established sophomores at that time and after almost 20 years they're still battling each other at a high level.
If you grew up with them, try to watch them as much as you can, there's not a lot left anymore 🫡
Happy to get the win, but the team keeps having these major lapses when we get out to big leads. This hasn't been uncommon in the last few years and we showed a little promise early in the season it but now we seem to have fallen back into that. Jarry got dragged hard after the loss in Toronto and sure there are probably things he could have been better with, but the same thing almost happened again today with Silovs in net, so it's clearly not a strictly goaltending issue.
Left side D is weak, we know this. But this kind of thing doesn't happen just because of that. And the team doesn't seem to have these same lapses when games are closer… Clearly there is something going on mentally with these guys that if they get a big lead early, they just take their foot off the gas and start just coasting on defense.
It can't keep happening if we're going to turn this 9-4-2 start into something potentially more than just status quo disappointment we've been used to these last few years.
pens fans, pay attention to the goalie. every single game he has let in goals by not dropping that left pad… lost the shootout a few games back because of it
someone tell that bald f**k Carbery to hire someone who actually knows how to tune your team to play PP. absolute bellend. the Caps let IN more pucks then score while power playing. this cretin doesnt have a clue and seems to me does nothing to improve.
Надоели 3-0 вели и опять чуть не проиграли
Wow what a game. Crosby ain't messin around this year so far. As a Ranger fan it would be hilarious if the Pens won the Cup this year and the Rangers do not even make the playoffs.
the real question is how will Kindle look at the end of Novemeber?
Ovi almost gets his face sliced off 7:21
giving Jack Adams for Carbery was a massive, horrible mistake. his first year as a coach the team played horrible, this season it plays horrible, the only year it was great was when Ovi was chasing the record and energizing the whole team so there was no role of Carbery in that.
I like this announcer but I wish he would stop calling a hockey stick a twig. Sounds like a tool when he says that
