You’re doing everything you possibly can to move and separate him from the puck, but his core strength and his balance is certainly the victor as he takes this one to the net. Seattle’s high activity in the offensive zone has resulted in them leading here midway through the first. And they take possession here in the offensive zone and time to go on the attack. They work on it in practice. Worked some of them earlier today at the pregame. And they talked about the execution and the precision in particular with their puck movement. spins to the crease, comes up with the stop, and now it’s grabbed by Montour. Carlos lugging the puck and they get that puck down the ice. Seattle’s got it behind the net. Everly’s across the line now and on the attack in the offensive end trying to get the puck out of his own end and they get it out. Takes the puck behind the net. Great defensive effort with the stick. Tries to feed it over to Tolman and gaining speed through center. And here they come on the attack. Oh, how about that for sacrifice? Well, on a PK you have to sacrifice and I love the way that he gets out there aggressively and make sure that that shot does not get to the net. Oh, we’ll get some tired defenders as icing is the call. Machelli’s ready for the draw as they will continue to try to kill off this penalty. Seattle’s got possession here in their own end. Huge win by the center to give his team an opportunity to get out of the zone after a critical icing. Herado’s moving it along the wing and he uses his reach to disrupt the play and he sidesteps the check there. The courts opted to hang on to the puck for a faceoff. And I think he’s a little flushed right now, James. Maybe with embarrassment. And that shot dies in traffic. The Leafs penalty killers come up huge. A tremendous job by the PK units, James, to get out there and show hard work. This is exactly what it takes to kill a penalty. And they did an excellent job. The Leafs gain possession along the wall. I thought he got square to the shooter, but unfortunately a little bit leaky as this one winds up in the back of the net. The Kraken have extended the lead to two and they’ve got to be feeling good as they near the intermission. Cheryl. Yeah, and they can’t coast into intermission as well. This is where they need to pounce on their opponent and look to further the damage. Takes the feed in the middle of the ice. Quick pass across to Montour. Under a minute to go here inside the second period right in the low slot and that’s blocked. Moves it to Benois. Seattle’s got it in the neutral zone and they continue to fight for that puck along the wall. Moves the puck to the attacking area. Oh, what a save on the play. Wow. Oh, that’s lar James. I mean, he just stole one away from his opponent. What a save. Stolars has been terrific and consistent, but man, he’s been peppered in the crease. James, his team has to find a way to generate some offense. And the only way they can do that if they get the puck out of their own zone. Plays the body. Long lead pass to Montour in all alone. Break away. Makes the save. Oh, and this is a great save. You can see this one onone battle and the goalender is so dialed in tracking and makes that save. The leagues are getting goalie, James, and this can be so frustrating. You’re putting a ton of shots to net. You’re getting great scoring chances, but you just can’t find the back of the net. Right off main street and on the attack in front scores. Wow. Yeah, that’s unbelievable, isn’t it, James? That shot is top cheese and just knocks the bottle off of the top of the net. It’s butter. Well, that is such a timely goal from a leader of this group. And you can just see the entire bench lift up and elevate with that goal. I mean, everything is about timing, creating energy. It’s the intangibles within the game that creates momentum. And that one’s going to be a tally, but it reverberates down the whole bench. The Leafs desperately needed something and they finally made it happen. Now they’re in the final frame here, but they got one back. And you know what that’s like as an opponent when you know that that team is coming and they’re a wave. There’s a lot of urgency and they’re a dangerous team right now. He’s got to get to the top of the free square of the park to be able to make that save. Great job over. Oh, you know what? He felt that one, James. The body is reverberating after it. What a great hit. Hard found his rhythm here. James looking real nice in his crease. The way he’s moving, taking away a huge opportunity for his opponent with that high danger save. They’ve got the defense outnumbered and there’s a close save on the play. Stolars has had a great game between the pipes for his team here and allowing them to stay in it. It’s the timeliness of the save. It’s the consistency in the crease controlling the rebound and of course that big save that allows the team to settle in and I can tell you from experience that is a pivotal piece to success. Lots of time left in this period. Seattle’s got a slim lead. They lead it 2-1. Toronto’s taken possession in their own end. Handles the pass. Great poke check on the reach. Huge play in his own end to come up with the puck. I get when you’re losing, James, that you want to get something going. You want to spark your team. You have the puck on your stick, but sometimes you can try and do too much. And I think that’s a product of that as he loses the puck. levels him with the hit. Oh, gets the zipper on back. Oh, what a save there, James. I mean, that situational awareness at its finest, knowing exactly where the threat is in that slow slot and taking all the space away. Goender covers it up. We get a whistle to slow things down. So, I love what he’s trying to do here, James. He wants to separate the body from puck, and that’s exactly what you got to do. You got to play with a competitive edge and an intensity. [Applause] Toronto’s had a lot of shots on goal, but they’re going to need to finish in order to get back into this one here in the third. Back underway as he wins the draw inside the offensive zone. And he can’t hang on after that hit. And that’s blocked away. To gain possession now over to N. And that pass attempt is deflected. Seattle’s got a hold of it along the wall. Picked up along the boards by Carter. Gadro stay in the line and on the attack. The Leafs take possession in the defensive end. That’s a great play to get it off quickly. Toronto’s had countless shots throughout the night, but they still find themselves behind the eightball here in period number three. And let’s see what the definitive call is on the ice. Larson’s been nabbed for tripping. Well, in this situation, he is going to get the tripping call. Toronto’s man advantage unit will take to the ice for the first time tonight. The first power play of the game is a real tone center. You know, you’re on your toes and you’re really showing the other team that you mean business. You can be potent and they got to be disciplined if they don’t want you to capitalize. They battle for the puck down. slides up front right side set up ahead into the middle of the ice in front and he takes a shot and he gets in front of that one. Well, he didn’t flamingo there and if you want to be on a PK, you got to make sure that you get to those shooting lanes hard and fast. Picked up by Matthews and that’s intercepted by Lindr. Well, that play didn’t go his way, James. He tried a little bit too much there. And when you’re trailing in a game, I get you want to try and do a little bit extra and try and create some offense, but unfortunately that didn’t work out. The cracket again possession off the wall. Puts a little mustard on the hit to knock the puck loose. Sends the pass down low. A chase in front. Tremendous block on the play. Well, the vent really erupts on that one because otherwise it would have been in the back of the net. grabbed along the board by the strong defensive effort. The Kraken have it now. Well, the shooter’s in a coveted spot on the ice right in the middle of it with a good look and he makes an incredible save by getting spread to the puck and turning it aside. Oh, what a save on the slapper. Oh, that’s an absolutely massive hit, James. These are the types of hits that can change the landscape of the game. The power of the legs right through the body. He was so dialed in. He tracked it perfectly. Toronto’s Achilles heel tonight has been finding offense as they trail here in the third. Whites won the draw. there on the attack. Redirect it off one of his own linemates there. Knander swooping in on the attack. Tries to feed it over to right into the offensive end right up the middle. Oh, much respect as he blocks that one. Well, the game is played at such fast rate that sometimes you want to slow your opponent down, but if you take too much ice, it’s going to be an interference call. Seattle’s power play unit puts their hard hats on as they go back to work. It can certainly be frustrating when you get multiple opportunities and you don’t cash in. Well, they have another opportunity right now. The focus has to be to win the faceoff, get to their positions and put the puck to the net. Keep it simple. Passes it in front. Picked off in front. Everly’s crossed the line and gain the zone. The Leafs gain possession in the defensive zone. Quick feed to Matthews. The Crockett have possession along the boards. And now he tries to get it across to Marchman. Pulls by the ch. Oh, what a save in front. I love the willingness to drive north on this and beat your opponent to the benefit of the extra attacker pays off. Yeah, utilizing all of that space, James, to their advantage and the recognition and awareness of when to take it to the net. I could watch this play over and over and over again, James, because his his will and compete level here. He’s showing tculence. He lays the hit and what he does is he separates his opponent from the puck. Now, his team can get possession of it. They can get going the other way. They can start to create and the goal is a result. [Applause] The Kraken have to be pleased with their effort here. They continue to attack offensively in the third. This is a feel-good game, James. And you have to embrace these type of games. They don’t always happen. And everyone’s got it working for themselves. They’re communicating. They’ve got good habits and they’re throwing the net. Quick pass to Evans. Dropped in the open ice. Everly stick handling in his own zone. We got a whistle. Penalty coming up. The Leafs don’t like it, but they’ll serve two in the penalty box. I just had a gander at the bench and the energy and the body language. I mean, they’re defeated, James. And now they have to kill off another penalty down a bunch of goals. It’s a tough one. But this face off’s one, James. They’re going to set up in the umbrella. You know that they want to pull the coverage up high, work that puck down low. They’ll have someone in front to be able to screen, but they’ll also be looking for crossing passes to attack the net. Makes the save again. The pass in front. What a chance, but they can’t connect. Looks to make a play over to Edin Larson. Oh, what a hit against the board. Executed perfectly, James. I mean, he can’t maneuver. He’s got nowhere to go. He’s lined up and then he’s taken down. Seattle’s got a hold of the puck. Fires it on net. Comes up with a stop. Gets it over to Elyn Larson. And that’s stolen by Marchman. Puck is grabbed here at Setter Rice by Knander. Moves it to McCann along the half wall with Puck and he’s knocked off the puck there. Perunner’s playing it through the neutral zone. Fires it. That goes wide. Picked off by man. Well, no question. This is a frustrating play for everyone. It almost feels like it’s going from bad to worse. You’re losing. You’re trying to get something going. Instead, you turn over the puck. Sneaks by the hook check. And a nice take away in the defensive end by Tavaris. Seattle’s got possession here in the offensive zone. moves it quickly over to man. Takes a shot. Oh, left save by Stard. Well, this is a big hit here and I don’t think the other team likes it because it’s a product of frustration. They’re trailing in the game by quite a margin and really just not maintaining the emotions or the control within the game and as a product this is hit as a result. Matthews gets set for the face off here as they will continue to play short-handed. Good job tangling up his opponent here. Easily turned away with the glove. The Leafs will play it in their own end. Great use of the twig as he puts that one away. Good time stop there. Toronto’s got the puck short-handed through the organizer picking up steam. It’s a straight up race for the puck. Seattle’s got it in their own zone. Yeah, they’re handedly winning in this one, James. And they didn’t execute on the power play, but there’s a bunch of athletes on that team that want that job, and it’s about executing to the best of their ability. You know, they wanted it. Seattle’s offense has been the story tonight, leading big time here in this third period. And that nullifies that threat for the moment. Picked up along the wall by Montour. Seattle’s got to be impressed with this game tonight. Certainly their coaching staff. Anyways, it looks like their team has bought in, trust the process, and finding a way to get it done. Just look at the scoreboard, James. They’re doing everything they can to get those numbers higher. Well past the midway mark of this period. Lot of offense in this one. Mostly from one side. We’ve got 4-1 to score off the draw. And a nice job locking up his opponent. Ref blows the whistle as the puck’s covered up. Seattle’s been going in one direction all night long and that’s to the net and they lead it in this third. Gro won the face off deep inside the offensive zone. Seattle’s got the puck in the defensive end. Shakes off the defender with some nifty moves. Fires it into the offensive zone. Slides it diagonally to McMahon through the neutral zone up along the wing. Makes a save and he takes the feed. Hayden’s got it across the line. Toronto’s got possession of the puck. Here they come inside the neutral zone. Popped off loose after that hit. Back at the point set it up. Nowhere for that shot to go through. It’s close and they’ll get a breather as the goender covers it up. Looks like lineups are set and they’re ready to get things back underway. Paneers has won the draw inside his own end. There’ll be one away from time this game up, James. So, it’s about building and continually finding ways to press and be aggressive on the puck. So much of the goalending position is tracking the puck and trying to get the sight lines, James. And with only one player in front, you might lose it for a second, but if you out battle and out the person in front, you’re going to find it. Unfortunately, this puck, it beats him clean. Toronto’s clearly sending a message that they’re not going to roll over in this one. The two goal deficit. They have to have desperation and urgency. They’ll need two players on the puck at all times. Retrieval to possess the puck is necessary. Made the stop on the play. Here’s a short pass to gets a glove on it to make the save. Yeah, it’s his face looks red, doesn’t it? I mean, he’s been outstanding and he has faced a ton of rubber tonight. Makes a good decision to hold on to this one. Put it on now. Too many bodies in the way. It’s a breakaway as he shakes the defender. makes the save. Taking a loaner, stops him again. I’m not sure where the defense is, but I’ll tell you what, the goalender has been outstanding. Made a flurry of saves to keep his team in this one. Grabbed along the board by Schwarz. Oh, what a blocker stop by. The Leafs moving ahead. Oh, excellent use of the stick as he knocks that one away. Pushes it over. The court’s going to hang on to the puck for a whistle. Here in the late going of the period, Seattle’s doubled up on them. It’s now 4-2 and they’ll start the possession. Seattle’s got the puck in their own hand. Tried to get two women with it and loses possession. kind enough to move when you have good hands. Sometimes it works, sometimes you get denied. And that’s what happened there. Receives the pass. Oh, a clutch save. Toronto Skoolie is on the bench. The extra attacker has jumped into the play and the puck has moved to a safer spot on the ice and he avoids the P with some great. Under a minute to go here in regulation time. Wide open net scores into the empty net. This was right in my wheelhouse, James. These were the type of moments that I played in. And everyone can take a breath now that the insurance marker has hit the 4×6. [Applause] That’s a strong effort all the way around. Stingy defensively at the end of the game and they’re able to get that empty netter. And it’s the dying minutes here, James. That should seal the deal. Both teams gliding into position and the official set to drop the puck. Seattle’s won the draw and that’s broken up by nine and there’s the save’s got the puck. She’s going to hang on.
