Kicker missing PAT costs Falcons in 24-23 loss to Patriots

A lot of factors contributed to the Falcons 24 to23 loss to the New England Patriots, but the main one was the kicking woes reared their ugly head once again after a potential season defining drive for Michael Pennix in the offense with Drake London getting his third touchdown catch of the day on a clutch fourth down score. The Falcons had a chance to tie the game 24-24 with under five minutes to go and kicker John Parker Romo pushed the PAT wide right. The Falcons did get the ball back and an intentional grounding penalty proved very costly. Did ruin uh their chance to get back into scoring position. And so there are plenty of things that the Falcons can clean up from this game, but the biggest one may be making a change at the kicking spot with two rookie kickers on the practice squad. Will we see the Falcons make a switch this week? Let’s find out. They’re off to Germany to face the Indianapolis Colts. Will they bounce back after their third straight loss? 1. I didn’t expect to win this game regardless cause of how the team had been playing. People said good riddance to Koo. I bet yall want him back now. He hadn’t missed an extra point in the last 2 years.

  2. I always felt we released Koo too early. Romo had ONE good game and hadn’t proven he could be consistent then he follows it up the next week by missing two FGs in Carolina. Might as well had kept koo, coaching staff can’t keep firing and releasing people before getting to the actual root of the problem.

Even then we had the ball down one driving to win the game and we decide to throw the ball with a two minute warning on our side which is when we wasted two downs instead of running into the two minute warning. A disjointed drive which would’ve helped us get a win and we fold.

  3. Play calling is too damn predictably.
If fans watching on tv know exactly what play is coming just from the pre snap motions imagine what professional NFL coaches are gonna do 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️
Please fire Zach Robinson and Raheem now!!!!!!

  4. The season is over. I have seen all I need to see. I will continue to watch because there is still a lot of football left to play, but I can tell this team is not playoff bound by any means. If they are, it's by chance and fortune. The talent is all there on both sides of the ball minus a position or two. I think the coaching staff is holding this team back in a lot of ways. However, I will say that this game was different because of the injuries on the oline. In this game, the players lost it in my opinion. And by players, I mean the kicker, the run defense, and a slow starting offense.

  5. Blaming the kicker is some WEAK SAUCE. The HC, OC and the QB are to blame. 1) Morris should have kicked a field goal just before half-time. 2) Pennix and his brain fart grounding the football on our final drive, costing us a loss of down and a 10 yard penalty. 3) OC only giving Bijon around 10 carries and Algiers got 2 carries. I also blame the Falcon Fanbase. You are ALL wearing racist 😎 sunglasses. After 59 years of rooting for the Falcons, I'm on the Colts Bandwagon. And I made that proclamation 2 weeks ago. I can't wait for the Colts to beat the ever loving SHIT out of YOUR FALCONS next week. SUCKERS, SUCK ON THIS!!!

  6. CALL RODRIGO BLANKENSHIP! Falcons have a good kicker right down the freaking road. If I have to hear orris say we got to,find a way one more time! It is obvious he does not know what he is doing! Fire him like yesterday

  7. Y'all blaming the kicker that would've tied it but Drake Maye's uncharacteristic strip sack and interception gave the Falcon's much needed life and prevented this from turned into a thrashing
