🚨Miami Dolphins Fans Get BIG Rumors Heading Into Week 10 vs. Bills🚨

[Music] [Music] Heat. [Applause] [Music] Heat. Happy Thursday, Dolphins fans. Welcome into Dolphins Today by Chat Sports. I am your host, Nick Rolloloff, live here right before NFL week 10, couple days after the NFL trade deadline where Miami only made one trade, sending Jaylen Phillips to the Eagles for a third round pick. There is a lot to talk about following the deadline on GM search. Where is that going to go here? And we have some intel and candidates from the athletic. We also are going to be doing a mock draft after the trade deadline. Miami will have eight selections heading into the NFL draft, at least as of right now. We also discuss a major trade potentially in the off season. Could the Dolphins swap Tua for Kyler Murray? Yeah, we’ll discuss that. Also a Q&A on today’s show to round out the episode. So appreciate everybody spending a little bit of their Thursday with us here on Dolphins Today. Shout out your city for me down in the comments section. Where are the real ones watching from? From Chris X says, “Never rooting to lose against the Bills. I hate the Bills. completely understand. Some people just have to come to the realization that it might be better for the Dolphins to lose going forward, which you’re referring to our live pinned comment and poll. Here is the question of the day this Sunday. Dolphins two and seven. Do you want them to win? Look, they should have beat the Bills the first time. You can argue. I mean, you always want to beat your division rivals, but I understand why you would want to lose as well. I see both sides of the coin. Like, I I I’ve always said I will always for a win unless we’re mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Now, we technically haven’t been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. But Nick Rolloff math, we have been eliminated from the playoffs. Your math is usually pretty good, which is why I want to start the glute. Like, I I’m sorry. I think I’m officially on the lose tank team. Like listen, uh we fired Greer. Like McDaniel’s on the hot seat. Like I just think that the best thing for this franchise is getting the best possible draft pick. And I get it. I get both sides. Like I know you say you’re not a fan if you root for your team to lose. I’m not going to say you’re not a fan for rooting for the future, but I think every fan should be able to decide what they want. And personally, I want a better future because I’m sick and tired of what we have. And if the better future comes because we have the number one or number two overall pick rather than the fifth overall pick and winning this game and losing it is the difference there. I I’m going to root for a loss because I think Miami needs to secure a top two pick to either get the quarterback of their choosing or the best player non-quarterback in the draft. Like, so I got to be honest. I I am rooting for losses going forward. Frank says, “Is it bad I want ER to start starting now?” Um, no. I I actually don’t think to be honest. Like I think I’m there with you. Listen, we’re moving off of Tua. Maybe not this off season, but he certainly won’t be the quarterback on this team two years from now. So my thing is like, why not see what you have in Quinners? Now, is half the season a little too aggressive? Maybe. But in December when the Dolphins are out of the playoffs, officially eliminated, yeah, Quinn should absolutely be starting. Look, I think there’s a nonzero chance he is starting in the final month of the season. And Mike McDaniel kind of alluded to it. Hell Tua kind of alluded to it that he wasn’t playing good enough to keep his job. Ian Rapaort said it was a possibility that we could see Quinn Euers in the final month of the year. So, we’ll see what happens, but it’s certainly not out of the real. It’s not a It’s not a zero% chance we see Quinn start some games this season. Oh, I think it’s a 100% chance. 100% chance. You heard me correctly. 100% he starts a game this year. Okay. Whether it is the se final game of the year where the Dolphins are three and 13 or if it’s a full month, like I will I will guarantee Quinn starts a full game this season. I hope you’re right. It might just be one game. It might be the last game of the year, but he will do it at least once. I hope you’re right. I He will do it at least once. Without a question. Without a question. Well, let me ask you this. What is the biggest position of need for the Dolphins? What is it? Is it quarterback? Yes. Is it offensive line? Is it corner? Dline? Edge rusher? Yes. Safety? What is it? They need everything. Coupe, what is the number one though? The most important position is quarterback. So you’re saying QB? That’s what they need. You’re saying QB part the bomb saying QB. Chris saying O line. Nightmare saying QB. Mac and cheese O line. Orbit O line. Tyson O line or corner. It I do you do you want to figure out the O line before the quarterback or the quarterback before the O line? That’s what you need to ask. Dub says Q. Well, to be fair, like if you have an Alto line, it will make finding the quarterback much easier. Certainly, because you don’t need as high quality of a QB. That and a quarterback that is really high quality will be even better. Yes. With a good O line. Lim says old line. I’m just picturing Quinn, you were slinging that rock in front of an O line, man. Like I my thing is like I get both ways. If you have an elite quarterback, like you’re going to be good either way, but you could also ruin the development of a young good elite quarterback if you have a shitty O line. Absolutely. So, it’s like goes both ways. You got to get the quarterback, but you also got to have an O line to protect them. Look, you do I’m always the fan of teams who build through the trenches. So, if you’re saying O line, I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with you, but franchise QB is also very difficult to buy. I would agree. And that’s why it’s like it’s very dependent on where Miami is picking. If the Dolphins are picking inside the top two, you’re gonna have a hard time convincing me maybe going quarterback isn’t the right option there. Whether you think it’s Mendoza, whether you think it’s Simpson or Sellers, it just scares me taking one of those guys top two. I agree. Maybe you trade back with like a team like the Browns who have multiple first round picks this year. The Rams have multiple first round picks this year. teams that have multiple firsts if they want a quarterback. Sure, they you could trade back and just accumulate multiple draft picks to really add a lot of young talent. I mean, we’ll have a mock draft here on today’s show. The Dolphins currently picking fourth. I’ll tell you right now, I don’t take a quarterback in the first round. So, like I I I think it depends on where you’re picking. Like, if you’re going number one overall, I I think you have to take a quarterback. Maybe. Uh, look, what if they don’t what if they deem Mendoza is not worth of the number one overall pick or whoever the top QB prospect is? I just have a hard time believing that would be the case. When you picture Fernando Mendoz, do you see franchise QB? I do. Okay. 65, 230, good arm, talent, mobile, accurate. I do. You’d be comfortable taking him one? I would. Okay. I would shout out was Khan with the five. Shout out go fins here for Coupe. Live through a long rebuild. It sucks. You have picks. It’s you do with the picks what matters. True. No doubt. Wasim, do you think you’re not in the rebuild anymore? That’s my question. You think you’re in the clear? Because I know who you’re a fan of. They are moving up. They are not in. I was say they are not. I don’t think you guys are in the clear. Yeah, you guys are five a five- win ball club, but I mean, I don’t want to try to bring some negative energy towards you and the Chicago Bears. I just don’t believe in that ball club over there, man. I just that defense isn’t very good. Uh, and I think the offense has been the beneficiary of playing some really bad teams. I don’t believe in that quarterback. We’ll see. I I think Caleb’s good. Is he elite? I don’t know. But he’s good. I don’t know, man. Yeah, that’s why the difference between the number one pick and the fourth pick could be massive. Like the Jets look like they might be the number one overall pick. And if that’s the case, they’re probably going to take Mendoza. I mean, some such a bust in New York, by the way. Some people really like Tai Simpson. Some people really like Dante Moore. Some people like Lenora Sers. I I don’t think Sellers goes number one. I think he’ll definitely be a firstrounder. I do think he’ll definitely be a firstrounder. I was going to say I’ll give you a hot take. I’m not sure he’s taken on Thursday. Uh I would take money on that right now because we’ve talked about this Coupe. Anthony Richardson went fifth overall. Oh, he he did. Lenor Sers is a better prospect than Anthony Richardson. Oh, is he? Yes. I don’t know. Yes. All right. You if you insist. Sellers does all the other stuff better. such as like I’ll hear you out on I’m not He He is It’s hard to It’s not hard to be better. He’s more accurate. He’s a better Yeah. Richardson threw 55%. That’s my point. But he brings you the same type of stuff that Richardson does. Sellers is 6’4, 230, 240, athletic, mobile, rocket arm. He he he does everything that Anthony Richardson was highly thought of, but he is might just be marginally, but he is better on the other stuff. So to me I I I think Sellers is a better prospect than Anthony Richardson. I am not touching Sellers with a 10 foot pole in the first 15 16 picks of the No. And that’s where I’ll disagree with you. If the Dolphins are picking 12 and Sellers is there again. Not touching them. Put it in. Not touching them. I might still take him in the top 10. Not touching them. We’re picking 22nd. Go for it. But we won’t be. It would have to very well determine who your head coach is. And the head coach of next year’s team, I don’t know. We’ll find out. Is Mr. Michael McDaniel? I don’t think so. I also don’t know if it’s Michael. Has to be. It doesn’t have to be. Oh my god. Whose legal name is Mike? It could be. I mean, I’m not sure. It probably is. It is. Is it? Yes. There was no way it wasn’t. I don’t know. Who knew? Who knew? All right, we got 82 people watching. Hit that thumbs up icon. Let’s get to 40 likes before we get the show started. We need to get to that 50% like right here. Uh, I know a lot of people aren’t interested in the fins anymore. We see these views go down every week. It feels like just is what it is. Let’s call it a spade a spade. But we appreciate the people. Look, the people who are watching are dedicated fans of the Miami dedicated dieh hard fans of the Dolphins or hanging out with us. We greatly appreciate it. We’re going to get today’s show started, but we need to get to eight 40 likes before we do that. So, join the channel. Hit that thumbs up icon. We need Oh, we just crossed it. Oh, we don’t even need anymore. Cool. We’ll get to Wasim Con super chat here in a second. But coming up on the live show, we got some intel on who the Dolphins could be looking at at GM in the off season via an article by The Athletic. I do my third Miami Dolphins mock draft after the trade deadline because now we have a full picture right now of what picks Miami will have in the draft. Plus, could the Dolphins trade two for Kyler Murray in the offseason? We’ll also round out the show with a Dolphins Q&A. So, if you want to get into the mailbag, #dolphins or super chat, we already got one question in from Flatliner on uh Quinners, but if you want to get into the mailbag that we’re going to do later, #dolphins or super chat, we’ll do that. And uh we’ll get ready to roll here in our first show. You uh kind of aggressively slam the table there because that’s how aggressively I think at the 12th pick you slam in Lenora Celler. that you are that convinced. Yes. You’re the the the talent at number 12 is ridiculous. He he blows. He’s better than what Anthony Richardson was. Yeah, that’s like your I was about but he goes he went five C. I understand that. And who is that a flaw of the NFL? But that’s my point. I was like you take the gamble with someone that has that much talent. Is the are the Miami are the Miami Dolphins in a position to take gambles? But I mean it depends on what they do the rest of their off season. If you believe Sers could be a QB1, you take them out. That’s your opinion, Coop. It’s your opinion. You also uh believe Jane Daniels was better than Drake May and Drake May’s better. Did I? Yes. Did I? Yes. I was always a Drake Mayor. No, you Oh my god. Yes, I was. The the fake news media that Nicholas Rolloff Stay on that side, Coop. Stay on that side. That’s crazy. He was your QB3 in the draft. He was my two. He’s your QB3. Wrong. QB3. Wrong. He was my QB1 cuz I knew him. I watched Tarheels. We watched him together. Yeah. And I can’t believe you came away with that and not have him number one. I You are spreading some unbelievable lies at the moment and I don’t appreciate it. I’m just telling you, you can try to front for the camera, Coupe. Oh, this ain’t front. I’m not buying it. I’m not buying it. I was a Drake May truer. All right, let’s get into the first segment here. Coupe killing me over here. You make us late to the stream. Nope. And then you’re tossing all this fake. Let’s go. Let’s get to the first segment. This guy This guy is ridiculous. I mean, you’re the one who’s saying you’re here just yapping. Get to the f Let’s get to the first I have to defend my honor. Unbelievable. This guy. Tell you what, I have to defend my honor. Defend your honor. Exactly. I will not be slandered on Dolphins today. Not Not slander if it’s true. Not slander if it’s true. All right, let’s get into the latest intel on a Dolphins GM search here. First segment on today’s live show. [Music] Do we have some information on who Steven Ross and the Miami Dolphins could be targeting in the off season in their GM search? Because The Athletic actually put out an article of GM candidates and who could be hired by the Dolphins. There are a lot of names. We’ll comb through them. But one thing is abundantly clear to me is that the interim GM Champ Kelly can’t become the full-time GM when the hiring is official in January. I’m sorry. I just don’t think Champ Kelly has done a good job in the one week he’s been the GM of this team. I think Miami could have been a lot more aggressive at the trade deadline. Only did one deal sending Jaylen Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles. And I just think that they could have and should have been more aggressive trading players away like Minka Fitzpatrick, like Pursu Douglas, maybe a Jaylen Wright. Ultimately, all of those guys stayed put. Now, maybe it wasn’t just Champ Kelly. Mike McDaniels said in a presser earlier this week that him, Kelly, and Brandon Shore were in contact with ownership, collaborating on who should be traded, who shouldn’t be traded, the value the Dolphins should be getting in return on some of these players. Like, listen, we talked about it throughout the week. I didn’t want to trade Jaylen Wadd, but if you got offered a first and like a second round pick, I think you have to consider it. I didn’t want to trade Devon Han. you get offered a first round pick, I think you have to do it. But with veterans that are not long for this team, you would have probably liked to move off of them. Like, I get it. A lot of people are saying the value wasn’t there for some of the Dolphins players. Like, the Dolphins weren’t being offered good enough draft compensation, but I still will go out in the record and say not Trey, make a Fitzpatrick was a mistake. I understand Bradley Chub because the financial implications of it long term and you probably were only going to get like a sixth round pick, maybe a fifth round pick back, which isn’t worth the financial troubles, but Minka Fitzpatrick would not have cost you a ton in the future because he doesn’t have any guaranteed salary next year. He’s not going to be here next season. He doesn’t even want to be here now. I just think not capitalizing on getting a pick in return for Ma Fitzpatrick at the deadline was a little bit of a mistake. That’s just my thoughts on the matter. Well, let’s get to the Athletics GM candidates now because there were some interesting names that they were thrown out there. And the number one name that really caught my eye that I wanted to talk about was Alec Halib, the assistant GM for the Philadelphia Eagles. This is a really upandcoming GM. And you tell by the picture, he’s a relatively young guy, only 39 years old. them. The athletic writer Jordan Rodriguez said very positive things about Halib. The longtime right-handed general manager of Howie Roseman, Harvard graduate, worked his way up from an entry-level role in football operations with the Eagles in 2007, leading multiple areas within the organization, including talent identification and player evaluation, roster and resource management, and overall organizational strategy. Halib was a finalist for the Jets GM vacancy last off season and he is certainly a really intriguing name because he comes up from the Eagles who have obviously been one of the most well-run organizations in the National Football League over the last 5 years. He’s learning underneath many consider the best GM in all of football in Howie Roseman and the way that the Eagles are able to build their football team. They invested in the trenches, Oline, Dline, made opportunistic trades for guys like AJ Brown, um Darius Slay back in the day, and it helped lead them to become Super Bowl champions just a year ago. So, that entire thought process, the entire way that the Eagles organization goes about things is something that I would really like to be in Miami. And it would be a little bit of a swing, but but it’s a swing that I’m willing to take. And make sure you spread the word to other Dolphins fans. Let’s inform more people on the Dolphins GM search and who could be in line to take the full-time GM job in January. So, help us out. Share today’s video. I briefly mentioned it a second ago, but I do think would be a swing. Like, there’s more candidates out there that are more like concrete, like in almost guaranteed I would say guaranteed successes, but more likely. I mean, with Halib, you’re going really young, you’re going analytical, you’re going new age thinking, where there’s other guys out there that have been across the league for a very long time and seen it. And yeah, Halib’s been working since 2007. Um, but he is still really young. Like I mentioned, he’s 39. So, think about this. He got into that that organization in ‘ 07. He’s 39 now. That’s what 16 years ago. That’s about 23 years of old age. is crazy to think that. So, be a swing, but it’s a swing that I would be willing to take and he sure certainly should be getting an interview with the Miami Dolphins. Now, this list from the Athletic had a ton of different candidates. We are not going to talk about these five. These five, Rayagnu, Ed Dods, Chad Alexander, Josh Williams, and Ian Cunningham were all on the athletics list. I’m not talking about these five because we did break down all five of these guys in depth on this video on the channel just about a week ago. Dolphins GM candidates after Chris Greer was fired. So, if you want, go back and watch this video. That’s the thumbnail and make sure you subscribe for you don’t miss it. But out of those five names that we just showed and talk more in depth on that video, I want to re-emphasize Josh Williams, the director of player personnel and scouting for the San Francisco 49ers. I have been told and heard rumblings that Josh Williams is a really strong connection between Steven Ross, the Miami Dolphins. So, I do believe that is a name to keep your eye out on. Moving on here, number two on the list that the Athletic named Ryan Cen, the current vice president of player personnel for the veteran New England Patriots, and that is him next to Mike Vrabel. Those two work hand in hand. They worked like that in Tennessee. They’re working like that in New England right now. Rodriguez Anen said he se served as an interimm general manager in Tennessee while undergoing multiple GM interviews over the last eight seasons. has an extensive scouting background and personnel executive background with the Panthers, Titans, and Giants. Cowen, Elliot Wolf, and head coach Mike Vrabel have rebuilt the flailing Patriots into a 7-2 team in less than one season together. I like Cen. He’s an interesting name because I like the way him and Vel have worked together. I just don’t see him as an option for the Dolphins if we’re going to be honest. Why do I say that? It’s because he has such a strong working relationship with Mike Vrabel. I don’t see them breaking up. And right now, the current GM for the Patriots, if you will, is Elliot Wolf. I I have a strong belief and knowledge that it feels like he might be pushed out the door this off season because he wasn’t in line with Vel Ryan Cowan. So, personally, I think they’re actually going to move on from Elliot Wolf this off seasonason or demote him back to scouting, if you will, and promote Ryan Coden Cen to GM of the Patriots. So, yeah, this is a name to monitor. I just don’t see it as one that Miami is ultimately going to do. More coming up here in a second, but this episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. The weather is changing, but you know, whatever changes, the feeling of being right on prize picks. So, keep the season rolling with Prize Picks. So simple to play. Just pick more or less at least two player stats. If you get your picks right, you could cash in. Price picks the only app that offers stacks, meaning you could pick the same player up to three times in the same lineup. Want to pick more or less on Josh Allen’s passing yards this week. Rushing yards, touchdowns, that you could pick all of them in the same lineup. Only on prize picks. I’m only going to have one Josh Allen stat projection in my lineup this week. That’s less on his completions because I think they run the ball a ton. Also going in more than Devon Han receiving yards and more than Tua Tugaloa pass attempts. Download the prize picks app today and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code C LNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. Another name to keep an eye on, Nolan Teasley, the Seattle Seahawks assistant GM. He is a very young fella just like Alec Calib and is it just me? Does he not look like Elon Musk? That’s just me. Koopa Grace but Jordan on Teasley one of his John Schneider’s top deputies who worked his way up from his arrival to the team in 2013 as a scouting intern. Teasley has executive level experience and pro in college scouting and pro personnel roles at one of the more technologically advanced teams in the league. And I don’t dispute anything Rodriguez says there on Teasley. It just feels a little bit early for him. I mentioned it. He just got into the league at 2013, so he’s only been in the NFL for 12 years. I think he could be a solid option in the NFL as a potential GM in the future. I just feel like Miami, if they’re going to go a young analytical GM kind of route, I think the first person we talked about today, Al Calib from the Eagles, makes a little bit more sense in my opinion. But who knows? Maybe they interview Teasley and he just absolutely blows them out of the water. That’s a possibility as well. Like I expect Miami to have a very extensive interview search. like they should be interviewing 10, 11, 12 candidates for their position because they are a team that desperately needs to hire the right GM. And I want to know who you think the right GM is. Who do you want to be the next GM of the Dolphins? Is it one of the people we’re highlighting on today’s show? Is it one of the five names we talked about on the video a week ago and briefly mentioned today? Who is your guy? The fourth guy we’re going to talk about today, Mike Greenberg, the current Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant GM, a name that I honestly don’t think we’ve been talking a lot about and enough about as a potential GM replacement because he’s done excellent work across the NFL and specifically has a large hand in rebuilding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the last decade after the Jameus Winston era went a little sideways. Greenberg, who has been with the team since 2010, has assisted the GM Jason Light on all things during multiple team building pivots. And I think that’s the most important part here. They went from having the number one pick, Jameus Winston, that didn’t end up working out to bring in Tom Brady, building a winning veteran roster around him, getting a Super Bowl title, and then they find his replacement in Baker Mayfield and are among one of the more consistent competitive contending teams in the NFC over the last five years. I think Mike Greenberg would be a very solid option for the Miami Dolphins. It’s another team in Tampa Bay that prioritizes building through the trenches. And I think if you’re sensing a theme here from me personally, I really do want to go with a GM that comes from an organization that prioritizes offensive line and defensive line because that’s how the elite teams stay elite by having above average O lines and D lines. the Eagles, the Buccaneers, the Rams, all examples. The Lions, the Chargers, like that’s how those teams have been successful over the last decade. Having a top-notch O line and having a top-notch D line that can get after the quarterback because if we’re going to be honest, having the right quarterback is the number one important thing in the NFL. You know what number two is? Protecting the quarterback and getting after the quarterback. It’s all about the QB and the trenches are a large part of it. Other names I want you guys to monitor for the position that were listed in that article, but didn’t want to break them down in depth today. John McKay, the current assistant GM for the Los Angeles Rams. Another name that I really like. And then here are a couple other weird ones. Mike Bradway, the current Chiefs assistant GM. I don’t really feel too hot about him because I actually don’t really love what the Chiefs have been doing in that front office as of late. like they got Momes and like he’s like masqueraded a lot of issues that they’ve had. So kind of a little lukewarm on that. But Adam Bry, the Eagles VP of football operations and strategy is certainly another name to mention. Pretty interesting to see. Point I’m trying to make is between the five six names we talked about today, then the other five names on the video we talked about last week, Miami is going to have a lot of good options. They should interview all 10 11 names that we talked about over the past couple of weeks and then bring them in for second interviews, third interviews, get more in depth, get to know the people and make the right decision. And if they make the right decision, Miami is going to be in a good place because if you have a right and good GM, good head coach, you’ll be able to find successful players to fit your organization in the future. We’ll be here every step of the way as well. So, make sure you subscribe. Join the Dolphins Today family for daily content. Super chat from Rob Coupe. I think you need to host. Nick doesn’t have it today. Bring in the backup. Please give I chance. Rob, what makes you think I don’t have it today? Well, Rob, I I’m honored you said that, but I I think Rolley does a great job. Uh, we Rolley and I have our roles here. I mean, that’s a that’s a backup quarterback answer if I’ve ever heard one. Look, we’re in the correct roles. I’m not trying to take Roly’s job. We work as a team. I just want to know why Rob thinks I don’t have it today. I think you have it today. You’re bringing the fire and the passion today. Yeah. I don’t know. You brought it on the Miami Heat video you did earlier today. Oh, that was a doozy. Yeah. I mean, yeah, you’ve been you’ve had the energy. Yeah, I’ve had the energy. You have. You know, Speaking of energy, I tried to wake up at 7 in the morning today to to run before work. Didn’t No go. Dude, the time change has really messed me up. I’ve been waking up before seven every day this week. I wish I could. I I mean I I that alarm went off at 7:20 and I just was like absolutely not and then I went back to bed for an hour before coming into work. H I wish Rob was answering this for me. I want to know. Rob throwing shade. Rob throwing a dagger in my back and then just running away. No, we [ __ ] with Rob. And Rolley is the host of this channel unless he gets fired, which I don’t think is happening anytime soon. Roelly gets traded. Roelly won’t get traded. No, they don’t want to see what the backup can do though in the final month of the year. Um, I would love to see Quinners. I’m talking you. Me? No, I don’t need to be. Should we final game of the year reverse rule? I’m down. You host. That’d be so funny, bro. You host. That’d be so dumb. That’d be hilarious. Oh, that’d be funny, babe. That That’d be funny. That’d be funny. All right, as we continue here on today’s show, remember we are going to be doing a mailbag at the end of today’s show. So, make sure you get your questions in by either super chatting or using Dolphins. We have a couple more segments until then though where we’ll have a mock draft and we talk about a crazy trade idea that would send two of the Cardinals and Kyler Murray to the Dolphins. But I do want to get a couple questions in there. We have one question in because of uh the super chat from Flatline, but we need more questions. So, can we get a couple questions in before this first segment, which is a mock draft? Um, if you had to hire a general manager tomorrow, your pick is who? Um, I’m really torn between and and it’s hard to not it’s hard to know really because like I’m not in the building. I’m not talking. I don’t know the vision. I don’t know the plans that they would have, but just based off what I’ve heard, seen, and read, I feel like I would really want to go with either Ed Dods, the current assistant GM of the Indianapolis Colts, or uh Chad Alexander, the assistant GM for the Los Angeles Chargers. I think those are my top two right now. Those are my top two right now. But anybody gonna get a question in here be greatly appreciated folks as we want to do a mailbag. We love answering your guys’ questions. We love answering your guys’ questions. It’s our favorite segment of the week. Exactly. I like that question. Yeah, Mo, that’s a great question. You got to use hashtag dolphins in it. Copy and paste that question and add hashtag dolphins on the end of it and we’ll answer that one in the mailbag. Yep. Same with turpps. Good question. Yeah, you got to use Dolphins in the question. Use it in the question. Damn. Jaylen Phillips says today being traded to the Eagles is literally the best thing that’s ever happened to him in his life. Tough. Didn’t he get married? Yeah. He’s expecting a kid. Sounds like he’s about ball man. Tough man. Tough tough draw. Appreciate you, Turpps. Tough draw. Surprised I wasn’t on this. Someone put together a list of ranking dolphins Twitter. You’re on it? No. Surprised I’m not though. Are you breaking news? What do you mean? Are you a Are you a news breakaker? Maybe that’s what it means. No, a lot of these are opinion articles. You are first to report Dolphins News when it comes out though on Twitter. Yeah, I’m just shocked I’m not on here. I mean, I’ve got bigger accounts than some of the people on here, so just uh not not getting the respect. You are big time. You’re a celebrity basically. Oh, shut up. You are. Shut up. We got a couple questions, Co. We do. Do we? We do. I see Quinton and I see Chris. Oh, and Turpps. All right. With that being said, we can get into the next one. When I tell people about the Miami Dolphins, they’re like, “Do you know Nick Rolloff?” Like, funny enough, no. I’ I’m I’ve known Nick Rolloff. No. Hoops is a liar. Liar. Liar. Liar. Coops lie like four times on today’s show. Can we count him? Yeah. No, we’re not because if we do that, we’ll be here for another hour. All right, here we go. Let’s get into the mock draft on today’s show. It’s going to be a fun one, folks. Third one of the year. The NFL trade deadline passed this Tuesday and I wanted to do a Miami Dolphins mock draft after the deadline. Miami traded Jaylen Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles. They currently hold the fourth overall pick. And after that trade to the Eagles, Miami now has eight projected draft picks in the 2026 NFL draft. Make sure you subscribe because we’ll continue to update you every day on the Dolphins. But here are the draft picks for Miami right now. They currently have five selections in the top 100. They have one in the first round, one in the second round, three third round picks, their own one from Houston due to a trade last year during the draft with the Texans. And then the third rounder they got for Jaylen Phillips. Then you tack on a fourth, a fifth, and a seventh. They don’t have their sixth because of a pick swap trade that they made. And Miami has those eight picks. So no trades on today’s mock draft. We’re just going and using all of these picks to try to infuse some young talent into this roster. And the first pick, we’re going to go offensive line. Spencer Fau the offensive lineman in right tackle from Utah with that fourth overall pick. The mock draft had Dante Moore, Fernando Mendoza, and Ruben Bane going in the top three. So, if that would be the case in this exact scenario, I don’t think it would be smart to force a quarterback selection and I am investing in the trenches. Like, I am a Fernando Mendoza guy. I think he is very worthy of being the number one overall pick or being the first quarterback off the board. And if Miami is inside the top three and they have an opportunity to take Mendoza, I would do it. But I really don’t feel like Simpson, Sellers, Dante Moore are are worthy of a top five pick. So, I’m not forcing it. I’m not going to really just say we’re drafting a QB because we need one. I’ll invest in the trenches and we’ll figure out quarterback another way. Spencer Fanu is a really good option for Miami. He has been a three-year starter as a freshman in 2023. He started at four 540 snaps at left tackle and got some work in at right tackle where he has been the starting right tackle for the youths over the last two years specifically there and I think that’s important because Miami has their left tackle of the future in Patrick Paul but Austin Jackson the current starting right tackle is such a liability in terms of his ability to be on the football field you have to plan for his replacement and with how bad Jonah Savania has been you me to just get offensive linemen that are good. And you could put Fannu at right tackle, move Austin Jackson into guard if you wanted to. You could do whatever you wanted, but Fannu is, in my opinion, the top offensive lineman in this draft. Good class. Top three right now is Fanu, um, Kaden Proctor, and Francis Magawa from Miami. But Fanu has been phenomenal this year for Utah, and he was really good last year as well. No sacks, excellent pass protector. That’s where he thrives in, by the way. He is certainly a better pass protector than a run blocker in my opinion. When you watch some of the film and tape and some of the scouting report on him, if you are not aware of the young man from Utah, he is super athletic, fluid mover. He is a great pro uh pass protector with really strong hands, solid center gravity as well. Now, the one knock that I’ll have on him, it’s a pretty big knock. He’s a little lean, man. He’s 66 and like 310. Yeah, it helps him be athletic. It helps him be rangy, but in the NFL when you’re going against 6’4, 250, 44,440 freaks at edge, you’re going to have to put on a little bit of weight. So, with him having such a lean frame, he can get beat with power pretty easily. And if a guy gets him to overextend and then the edge rusher comes back in and pounces on his chest with a punch, like he’ll kind of have trouble with that at times. So, he’s super good, high floor in my opinion, but in order to reach that high ceiling, he would definitely need to add on some weight and get stronger to be that elite level offensive lineman that many believe he could be. He’s a projected to be a year one starter. And I already saw a comp out there as well comparing him to Charles Cross, who’s been a phenomenal offensive tackle for the Seattle Seahawks ever since being a first round pick out of Mississippi State. Moving on to the second round, 36th overall selection. I’m staying in the trenches but flipping it over to the defense. Going with Joshua Joseph’s, the edge rusher from Tennessee. And I was talking with our Tennessee football host, Joey Peterson, and he couldn’t stop gushing about him. I mean, his cheeks were getting red like rosy when he was talking about Joseph’s here. He’s had an excellent season for Tennessee. James Pierce Jr., the edge rusher from Tennessee, went in the first round last year after a tradeup with the Atlanta Falcons. Joey Peterson said that he believes Joseph’s is better than James Pierce Jr. He’s more physical. He is better in the run game. And it’s hard to deny that when you look at J Joseph’s tape and you look at the advanced analytics, they favor him pretty heavily here. Joseph’s has a 20.8% pass rush win rate, but also an 8.1 run stop rate. Those both rank in the top 90th percentiles of college football. He’s 6’6. He’s 240. He plays physical. He’s experienced. He’s one of the best edge rushers in college. And yeah, the production might be slightly down. But little tidbit I was also told as well early on the year for Tennessee. He was playing with a bunch of freshmen on that defensive line. So the opposing offensive lines were almost doubling Joseph’s on a game and snap to snap basis and he was still putting up good numbers. Joseph’s is certainly a player that I’m intrigued with. could be a late first round or fridge second round guy. We took offensive line and edge in our first two picks in this mock draft. I want to know what is your biggest position of need for the Miami Dolphins? Is it QB? Is it O line, Dline? What is the biggest position Miami needs to upgrade this upcoming off season? One of three third round picks for Miami. This is their own 68th overall. I’m going with Chris Johnson. No, we’re not reincarding the running back from Tennessee. We’re taking the corner from San Diego State who has been flatout dominant in the Mountain West this year. Yeah, the level of play isn’t that high, but when you put up these type of coverage numbers, yeah, I’m going to be pretty complimentary of you. And as I got to watch some of them, it was impressive to say the least. He’s lengthy as well. 6 feet, 200, moves well. I mean, three interceptions, he’s a ball hawk. 17.5 QB rating when targeted, under 100 QB rating when targeted each year of his career. Miami needs to add a young talented corner to really headline that room and Johnson is certainly an interesting option to keep your eye out for going forward in the draft process as a mid- major Mountain West dude. Second third round pick. We’re going to go with a quarterback and we’re going to go with the Cincinnati QB Brendan Sorsby. A guy that I have really fell in love with because the Cincinnati team total over is maybe the best bet in college football, folks. Just a little tidbit there. But who is Brennan Sorsby? Let me introduce you to him. He is a red shirt junior. He’s 21 years old. He originally started his career at Indiana. was there for two seasons, didn’t start, which is why he red shirted. Then was a starter as a red shirt freshman in struggle. That was the first year or a year before Kurt Singetti took over who is the current head coach at Indiana obviously coaching Fernando Mendoza right now. But Sorsby 6’3 235 so he’s got a good frame to him and he has really just blossomed into one of the best quarterbacks in college football over the past couple of seasons. had a decent year in his first season starting at Cincinnati, totaling for 27 touchdowns, seven interceptions, but has really taken a step forward this year for the Bearcats and had them ranked. I believe they’re 6-2 or 7-2, just unranked after a loss against Utah this past Saturday. But this year, he’s totaled for 29 touchdowns to only two interceptions. His QB rating has really blossomed. And yeah, the completion percentage has gone down, but he is an excellent thrower of the football down the field. 91.7 grade throwing deep. He’s got a 6.7% big-time throw rate with only a 1.1 turnover worthy play rate. And he’s got an adjusted completion percentage of 68.5%. And how about this? You, this probably relates to the completion percentage being a little bit low at 60.8. His average depth of target is 11.1 yards. For a quarterback, I know it’s college, it’s different, to average depth of target. To be past the sticks on a first and 10 play is ridiculous. He is a big game hunter and he’s got the arm talent to make it happen and he makes it happen more times than not. I I’m really impressed with Brendan Sorsby. He’s got moxy. He’s got confidence. We’ll see where this QB ride takes us. There’s a chance that he ultimately goes back to college because he’s got one year left of eligibility and maybe he does that with the hope of working his way into the first round conversation next year. He might be a second round pick this year. Heck, he could end up being a late first round guy if he really impresses people in the pre-draft process. Like his range of outcomes in the draft is very large. But right now, I think it would be a mid to late day two pick. And that’s where I’m taking him here. And that’s a player that I think you could maybe see if you got a QB1 in the future. I mean, you can invest a little bit into him. Give him an opportunity to prove that, but also you’re not married to him because it was only a third round pick. More coming up here in a second. But salute to service gear on sale. We can now rock Dolphins gear because Chris Ger was fired. So, let’s get some sweet salute to service gear while they’re still on sale in November. chatsports.com/dolphins salute is the place to get them. Hats, hoodies, shirts, polos, they got it all in the salute to service style. Truly awesome stuff. Links in the description and comments of today’s video. You see the the link one more time. Salute. The Dolphins have one more third round pick due to that trade with Jaylen Phillips and I am taking a safety from Penn State. That is Zaki Wheatley. And I really like this guy. 6’2 200 redsh shirt senior. Tons of starting experience for the Nitney Lions. Was a large part of that defense a year ago where he was thrusted into the starting action since they had two starters get hurt. Kevin, not Kevin Winston. Oh, I’m spacing on what’s the maybe it was Kevin. I think it was actually I thought I was thinking of Sebastian Castro from Iowa. Got those two mixed up. But Wheatley was pushed into having a large role last year and I thought he played really well and he’s bouncing back with another good season this year. He’s a big safety. I mentioned he’s 6’2 200 and he’s very ranging. He’s a great athlete, really good in coverage. 84.5 coverage grade for the Lions this season. He has a 11.1 forced incompletion rate, which is very solid. Um, has only allowed seven receptions, 46.1 QB rating when targeted, one interception. I I’m intrigued with Wheatly a lot here. And Miami needs a lot of talent in that secondary. Certainly at safety with Ma Fitzpatrick likely on the outs going forward. So, this is a player that I’m very fascinated with. Wheatly, keep an eye on. How about a Keem Meador, the Edge from Miami? We’re taking another edge here. And this guy is someone that the Advanced Metrics absolutely love. Graded out as an 87.3 grade here this season. 18.6% pass rush win rate. Ju just dominates. Him and Ruben Bane have been menacing opponents in the ACC all year long. And he he’s solid in run defense as well. A 5.1 run defense stop grade there. It’s been graded out 83.4 by PFF. Totaled about three and a half, four sacks this season from Canada. He’s a big boy. 63280. Like this is a guy that I’m interested to to see how he ultimately prevails here. And we’ve known Miami to have a little bit of success drafting players from the area collegiately. I’m not going to write home and say this guy’s going to be a star, but Mezador, his physicality and size and with that blend of athleticism he has makes him an intriguing option for Miami because they’re going to have to draft and add a lot of young talent to that edge room with Bradley Chub likely gone, Matthew Judon being gone, and Jaylen Phillips being gone as well. We’re going to head back to the offense here. We’re going to go with the tight end out of Houston, Tanner Coro. And boy oh boy is this guy an absolute behemoth here and I really love it. From Bloomingdale, Illinois 67 240. Sorry I had to. 2025 48 receptions, five touchdowns. This guy is just an animal in the red zone and he’s physical. He’s willing to get down and block. Like I think his I want to pull up his contested catch rate because it is so impressive. A 75% contested catch rate this year for the Houston Cougars and he only has a 2% drop rate while getting targeted 62 times. That’s just elite stuff, man. I’m not going to act like he’s some fluid elite route runner. That’s not the case whatsoever. He’s more predicated on utilizing his physicality in the red zone and over the middle of the football field. But I like the way he can move. He averages 10.5 yards per catch. Miss makes a couple people miss this year. Two missed tackles, fours. Like I’m fascinated by him. Not the best run blocker, but he’s definitely physical. A good red zone threat for a potential young quarterback or Tua next year. And the Dolphins having one more pick in the seventh round. We’re going to go with Barry and Brown. The wide receiver from LSU. uh hasn’t really been as productive as LSU Tiger fans would have wanted him to be entering the season. Um but he’s a uh he’s an electrifying player. He’s 5’11, 185. Um not as productive as I mentioned. He was hoped to be a real weapon for Garrett Nusmeer this year at LSU. I just don’t think he has lived up to the expectation. He doesn’t have a ton of good route running abilities, but where he thrives is athleticism. He’s a solid return man for LSU, and I know Miami has that with Malik Washington, but if you’re taking a flyer in the seventh round here, a guy that’s got a lot of speed at the wide receiver position, could ultimately be a special teams guy potentially as well. I’m willing to take the chance there in the final round. So, that’s my first mock draft coming out of the NFL trade deadline. Then we went Spencer Fannu, Joshua Joseph, Chris Johnson, and Brennan Sorsby with our first four picks. And rounded up with Zaki Wheatley, Akeem Meador, Tanner Quisil, and Barian Brown with my eight picks in this mock draft. 3.0. Go give me a grade for this mock draft. And we’re going to grade it on a scale of 1 to 10. So, no rookie scores. Give me a scale of 1 to 10 on how this mock draft ultimately prevailed. And if you want more Dolphins draft content and mock drafts between now and April, which is a long time, we’ll be the place for you. So, subscribe to the channel and join the family today. All right, mock draft done. I’m a Source Me guy like you. I love Sorsby. Love Sorsby. Rob coming in with another five. Appreciate you, Rob. Still mad about the trade deadline. Just not making moves. I get it. I get it. Boo saying seven. Ethan likes the Q CB pick. Philip says Dolphins will win on Sunday. Like the confidence. What’s the spread? Nine and a half. Right. Oh boy. That’s a big spread for the NFL. Is that what you said to me the other day on Tuesday? That’s what it was. Yeah. Biggest position of need for the Dolphins is what? I don’t know. Is it? I think it’s actually I think it’s be on You don’t like I like I like some of the DTs they have though. You do. Kenneth Grant promising not good yet. I like Jordan Phillips. Should I not? Like I’m thinking more maybe Edge. Like that’s why like if I’m not taking a quarterback, my dream player for the Dolphins right now is Ruben Bane. Yeah, that’s a great pick. I mean, you need people to, like you said, it’s about the quarterback, protecting the quarterback, and getting after the quarterback. Like, I think I would rank my top three of who I’d want to draft Miami right now would be Fernando Mendoza one, number two, Ruben Bane, and number three, Spencer Fano. I think that’s absolutely fair. We’ve had success with Miami Edges, man. Those would be my top three. I don’t really love any of the other quarterbacks outside of Mendoza like that. Ruben Bane’s the best defensive player in the draft. I’ve moved him ahead of Caleb DS in my opinion. And I think the best offensive player, not quarterback, that Miami would need is Spencer Fano. Like I guess you could argue Jeremiah Love at running back, but Miami is not taking a running back in the top 10. And uh I know a lot of people like Jordan Tyson from Arizona State. I think he’s a dog and I think he’s a great player, but you’re also not going to be drafting a wide receiver if you’re Miami. That doesn’t really make any sense either. So, to me, if you’re looking at positions of need and value, I I think outside of Mendoza, your top two guys are Spencer Fano and uh Ruben Bane. I would absolutely agree. Oh, I feel All right, we got one more segment until we get into our Dolphins mailbag and I think we need more questions, Coupe. So, can you use Dolphins or super chat if you want to get on the mailbag? Okay, how many questions we got? Let’s look. We got the one super chat from Frank. Yep. I saw we had like three or four questions before that last show, but do we need more? One, two, three, and four, and five. We’ve got five questions. We have five questions. So, we at least need three more. So get those questions in hashtag dolphins or in your comment or super chat. Are you hypo about wearing dolphins gear on Sunday stream? Yeah, I’ll certainly wear it. Unbelievable. We need we need a couple more questions in there. So get them in. Couple more. I don’t see anybody getting questions in. Come on, get those questions. We love like we love doing mock or we love doing Q&As’s, but if you guys aren’t going to get questions, then we won’t do them anymore. It’s kind of disappointing. I won’t lie. This PF mo PFF mockdraft has Mendoza going to the Dolphins at four. Like they PFFs like did it. They had Ty Simpson going one of the Saints. Ruben Bane going to the Titans at two. The Jets taking Dante Moore at three and then the Dolphins going Mendoza. The Jets taking Dante Moore would be so hilarious because he will not be good in the NFL. Yeah. Like I completely I I’m so out on Dante Moore. If the Dolphins drafted Dante Moore, I think I’d crash out. It’d be so funny. Not I actually I I don’t think I would crash out. I know I would because that’d be a horrible pick. It’d be an awful pick. He’s bad. Not good. He’s like my QB five in this draft. Mendoza Simpson Sellers Mat I wrote it down. Hold on. Or is it the player I just talked about? No way. Scoresby. Renan Sorsby. I don’t know, man. Little Mermaid. It’s a great question. You got to use hashtag dolphins in it, though. Remember, use hashtag dolphins or super chat to get on the show. Would you take Soresby at 36? Maybe. I don’t know if I would take Dante Moore at 36. I’m I would touch Dante Moore at the 10 foot pole just like Sellers. I think Dante Moore Oh, Sellers is way I would take him at 36 obviously, but Sellers is way more I am not of a prospect than if I’m in the top 16, I ain’t taking Lenor as I’m telling I ain’t taking Dante more either. No, absolutely not. Got to my head if I had to choose one, I’m taking Sellers, of course. I think Dante Morris stinks, though. Oregon’s not good. They’re going to get exposed. They They play Ohio State. No, I don’t think they do. Oh, they did. Let me look it up here. I don’t think they do. Oregon plays Iowa, Minnesota, USC, Washington. Iowa, Minnesota, USC. They could lose three of those four games. No, they can’t because they’ll beat Iowa. They’re going to skull [ __ ] Minnesota. We sure they won’t lose to USC at home. Could they lose in Washington in the last week of the year? Maybe. And And that should throw them out of the playoff. No. No. Yes. Actually, maybe their wins have not been They’ve been bad. Yeah, their their only good win is against Penn State in Penn State and Penn State blows. Yeah, they were fully healthy in that game, Penn State, but yeah, it’s bad. All right, we got a couple questions in there. Little Mermaid and Christmas. we’ll revisit. But let’s get into the next segment on today’s show, which is a wild trade idea, including two tongue of Aloa and Kyler Murray. With all the drama in Arizona, could the Dolphins trade two for Kyler Murray this off season? Excuse me. We’ll get into it. Noise. boys. I think I’m going to ebar for dinner. Yes. No. Barefoot’s invited me. Be third wheeling, but I’ll take it. Yeah. I just got a text today. Dot dot dot ebar. I never turn that down. I always get their enchiladas. Yeah. More excited to have their chips and salsa. I love their salsa. Love their salsa. I don’t I don’t know that place. Interesting. Hey, you got a little group on a Thursday night, huh? Right. I’ve been hearing murmurss. Yeah. No. Investig. No, I don’t think it is open. It’s fine, though. It’s fine. It’s fine. Not playing. I’m playing. All right. Here we go. Let’s get into the next segment here. All right, folks. We got a doozy here. We’re exploring a Kyler Murray for Tua Tongaloa swap here on today’s show because there’s been a lot of drama in Arizona and many people speculate that Kyler Murray’s time with the Cardinals is coming to an end. And we know the same is happening in Miami. We don’t expect Tua to be here for more than next season. And most Dolphins fans, including myself, want him moved off of going into 2026. But let’s talk about Kyler Murray and then we’ll get into some of the tour stuff. But I do believe he has done with the Arizona Cardinals. Let’s go over what has transpired in Arizona over the past week. We’ll start with on Tuesday after the NFL trade deadline. The report came out that the Cardinals are naming Jacobe Brassette as their starting quarterback. And it was very misleading because it was just like, wait a minute, Jacobe Brassette is replacing Kyler? Are they benching Kyler? Murray’s missed the last like two or three weeks with an injury. Like, is it injury related? Is it a stone cold benching? Like, no one knew the answer. And then an hour later, reports come out that Kyler Murray’s foot injury, which has kept him out, is a little more severe than they anticipated, and he was placed on IR. So, he’s out at minimum the next four games. But not to make a pun here with the Dolphins, something’s fishy with this entire situation in Arizona because there was an expectation set that Kyler Murray was going to be healthy enough to play this past Monday on Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys. Like if you remember after week eight, Adam Shfter had a report that all right, it’s time. These quarterbacks are coming back. Lamar Jackson for the Ravens, JJ McCarthy for the Vikings, and Kyler Murray for the Cardinals. And the only person that didn’t return for their respective team was Kyler Murray. And there was videos of Murray at practice moving around pretty well. So it’s like, what’s going on here? Like why is Kyler Murray not playing in this game? And then why is he put on IR when you should have put him on IR to begin with two weeks ago? Like it’s just a weird situ. It feels like a soft benching and most people believe that he is ultimately going to be moved on from this upcoming off season. So if he is on the trade market, would you trade Tua for Kyler Murray? And the reason we’re talking about this is because many people have suggested the Dolphins will be one of the teams that Murray could ultimately land with. And if that’s the case, you’re obviously going to probably trade Tua up in a swap with the Arizona Cardinals. Well, let’s talk about Murray, the player, and the cap situation here for Miami. Murray just simply hasn’t been that good this season for Arizona. Um, they were, I think, like two and three before his injury. Um, they’re currently three and five. They were so one and two with Jacobe Brassette filling in getting that win against the Dallas Cowboys last Monday. Uh Murray obviously former number one overall pick has had insanely good flashes but the story here is he’s been injuryprone his entire career. He’s a obviously a smaller stature quarterback and they’ve been unable to really build a sustained winning team in Arizona with him at quarterback. We obviously know that after his rookie year, they had a couple years early in the 2020s where like they were legitimately contending for uh number one seed and Kyler Murray was thought of as a NFL MVP candidate. Like they were at one point just a couple years ago I think undefeated like seven-0 with JJ Watt in company. Like they were bowling out and next thing you know they absolutely fall off of a cliff. They finished, I think, 10-7. So, they went three and seven in their final 10 games and then get bounced in the first round of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Rams. So, like, it’s been a very up and down tenure for Murray in Arizona. And it feels like the Cardinals are ultimately done with him. And when you look at his contract, it’s actually not that bad for the team that is ultimately acquiring Kyler Murray. He’s got three years left on his deal, but one of them is a team option, which doesn’t really happen that often in the NFL. But in 2028, it’s a $43.7 million team option, but the cap number for the team that would take him in, aka Miami, in this hypothetical, is 39.8 and 33.6. And if we’re going to call a spade a spade here, that’s a relatively decent contract. And you can argue if Kyler Murray is good or not, but that contract, like he’s still a top 20 quarterback in football. He’s probably still a top half quarterback in football. And for him to be getting paid less than 40 mil per year is pretty solid. Like Tua, who’s a bottom 10 quarterback in football, is having cap hits of $50 million. So like Kyler Murray’s contract, without a question, is better than Tua. I think Kyler Murray is better than Tua. So, you start to have this conversation and you’re like, “Okay, does this make sense for the Miami Dolphins?” I’ll say it right now. I would rather have Kyler Murray on my football team than Tua. That just Let’s be real. Kyler Murray’s got a better contract. He is a better player. He is more dynamic. And I don’t think Kyler Murray is a player that you could really build a championship roster around. Like, I’m not saying that. But if you were just going in a vacuum on who would you rather have on your football team to or Kyler Murray, I still feel as if most people would likely pick the former first overall pick, Kyler Murray. And that’s why I think it would be a little bit of a far-fetched kind of idea here to swap two on Kyler Murray because would the Arizona Cardinals want two on their team? Like maybe if they want more of a stable in the pocket quarterback, like sure, maybe you could understand they like the fit with Tua better than Kyler Murray, but I don’t think you could just trade Tua for Kyler Murray straight up in a swap like some people on Twitter have talked about and it be accepted by the Arizona Cardinals. I just have a hard time believing that is ultimately the case. More coming up here in a second, but this episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. It’s good to be right. Could the Cardinals want to? I I just don’t know. Like when you think about why it hasn’t worked in Arizona, I think it’s because they dislike the unability, inability to stay on the football field with Kyler Murray. I think it’s the issues with him being able to win games against good opponents and down the stretch of a season. And if you are uh keeping track at home, those are all things that we dislike about Tua. And uh with Tua’s declining play, I just don’t see a world where a team really goes in and commits either time, money, or draft capital to get Tua on their roster. And when you look at Tua’s contract for a team that trades for him, it is significantly more expensive than Kyler Murray’s. like $20 million difference in 2026. Murray’s at like 36. Tua is at 55.6. Now they’re both around the same price tag in 2027 around mid30s, high30s. But then Tua once again is the more expensive quarterback in 2028. And that year is not a team option. That is a guaranteed year, if you will. Um, if he’s on your roster. Now, if you traded for Tua and it didn’t work out, you could obviously move off of his contract after 2026, the same time Miami can. But is a team like Arizona going to trade Kyler Murray for a Tua and have a quarterback who you will argue is worse than Murray getting paid about $20 million more? Like, I don’t think so. Like if you prefer Tua, maybe you would do it, but the Dolphins would likely have to add draft compensation to it. Like if the Dolphins wanted to do this, like I think Miami would have to do Tua and a first, not excuse me, a first. That was a miss. Don’t take anything I just said for granted there. Or for real, I would be like a Tua and like a third rounder for Kyler Murray. Like that’s what it would be. But ultimately, I think that would be a mistake for the Miami Dolphins. So, if you are asking me if I think the Dolphins should trade Tua for Kyler Murray, I’m actually answering no. Despite how I have laid out Murray’s contract better, he’s the better player than Tua. I still think it would be a bad decision to trade Tua for Kyler Murray. I’ll explain why here in a second. But if you want daily informative Dolphins content for free on the daily, this is the channel for you. Subscribe and join the family. We’ll be live on Sunday for Dolphins Bills week 10 action as well. Why would this be a mistake for the Miami Dolphins? I’ll tell you why. Even if you trade Tua for Kyler Murray. Yes, Kyler Murray is the cheaper QB in what Miami would have to take in, but it would almost equal in money because you still will owe Tua a little bit of money. It’s not like you’re wiping your hands clean if you trade them. So when you combine Murray’s contract with some of the dead money, it will equal about what you are paying Tua right now. So you’re basically paying Murray to be your quarterback for the same price of Tua that you would if you just kept him on the team. And I don’t think the Dolphins are going to be any closer to winning a Super Bowl with Kyler Murray. I I think most people would agree with that. So, if I’m the Dolphins, I am not trading Tua in potential draft compensation for a very marginal upgrade in the short term for Kyler Murray. I would just sit patient and find your next quarterback of the future in the draft, whether it’s in 2026 or in 2027. And then you save yourselves a little bit of money by cutting Tua following the 2026 season where there’s only about $33 million in dead cap. Like there’s so many different options you can go with at quarterback in 2026 or 2027. These are obviously the top QB prospects this upcoming draft with Mendoza headlining it. And this is actually I think how I would rank them right now. I gotta be honest. I think I would have Mendoza one, Simpson 2, Sellers three. I’m a big Brennan Sorsby guy. If you weren’t aware, watch our mock draft I put out on Friday morning. I love Brennan Sorsby. I’m not high on Dante Moore whatsoever. He’s my QB five, my tier six, Garrett Nusmeer 7, Drew Aller eight. And that some of these quarterbacks might ultimately go back to school. Like there’s a chance that Lenor Sers goes back to school. There’s a chance that Dante Moore goes back to school. There’s a high chance that John Matier goes back to school. And there’s a decent chance that Brennan Sorsby goes back to school. So, some of these quarterback prospects could ultimately not be in the pool this upcoming April, which would just make the 2027 draft class absolutely loaded because you have these eight guys that you project to be there. Couple of them could come out in this year’s draft like Jaden Mava, um Darien Mensaw, Sam Levit, Arch Manning, but I project all of them to return to college and make an absolute stack 2027 QB draft class. Like there’s a chance all eight of these guys are top what 64 picks in 2027. Like it’s a hot take. Would I bet that that happens? No. It’s because it’s aggressive, but it’s definitely possible because I really like the long-term view on Darien Benaw. I like CJ Carr longterm. Seyan has looked really good and all these other guys have really elite traits as well. So, the point I’m trying to make with this entire video and uh the back end here talking about the QB draft classes over the next two years, it’s me trying to say do not rush into anything here. Like, yeah, would Kyler Murray be an immediate upgrade over Tua? Absolutely. And I don’t think it’s likely the Cardinals would accept a Tua for Murray swap straight up. I think that’d be dumb on their part, but I would also think it would be dumb on Miami. I just don’t think it benefits you in the long term. Uh, do it the right way. Draft a quarterback or at least build a good enough roster to where a QB upgrade like Murray over Tua would take you into the promised land or into the postseason. Similar to what the Rams did. They upgraded from Jared Goff to Matthew Stafford. They won a Super Bowl. The Dolphins could do something similar. upgrade from TU to Murray, but that’s also not going to take you to the Super Bowl because you do not have a good enough roster around the quarterback position. You want more thoughts on the Dolphins, go follow me over on Twitter, Nick Rolloloff. Appreciate everybody for hanging out with us on this episode. We’ll have another video out tomorrow, so stay tuned for that and go give me a follow. What are your thoughts on that video, Coupe, and my thoughts on Kyler Murray with Tua? Yeah, I would tend to agree because like you said, there’s just there’s it’s not enough of an upgrade to justify making a trade of that magnitude. You might as well just stick it out with two next season, draft the replacement, whether it’s this year or next, and go that route. Look, if you were talking about someone who was a you had a chance to get a top 10 quarterback, then maybe you execute the deal. Kyler Murray is not a top 10 quarterback at this point. He might be top half if he’s healthy, but number one, he’s not healthy. And number two, he’s not top he’s not a top 10 QB. So, I don’t think the risk outweighs outweighs the reward there. Yeah, makes sense, man. Makes sense. Um, we got a Q&A coming up here. Do we have enough questions? Couple ready for this. Matt Miller, NFL draft scout, said, “Word in the transfer port of streets is that Miami is ready to break the bank for a quarterback this upcoming off season.” Now, who would that be? Um, listen, they just did that for Carson Beck, so it’s like this is not groundbreaking information. It’s the my University of Miami. What What if Beamer ends up going to Virginia Tech? Sellers if he doesn’t go to the draft. I think Sorsby if he returns as an option. Um what about Drew Mtomaker? Darien Mensah. Duke’s paying him like four million bucks though. Yeah, Miami could up that up to eight. My boy Drew Maker is going to get a bag. He ain’t going to get that bag. It sounds like he’s going to get 2 mil plus though. Okay. But that’s like lowlevel power for Yeah. Not. We’re winning a natty in my What about the uh the cow kit? Don’t hate that. I hope he stays in Cal. I do too. I really hope he does. Um no shot. It’d be like a Bryce Underwood, right? Could imagine. Yo is say I thought I saw him tweet out they’re looking for the next replacement for Underwood. Did he? I don’t know. I think I saw that. Interesting. Sam Levit, could he leave? Extremely unlikely. And he’s out for the season already dealing with injury. Um, but him and Lagway, DJ Stan. Um, oh, I can’t tell you who it could be. It um the Austin Simmons kid from Old Miss cuz I I would think they’re going for someone super experienced, though. They’re not spending a bag on someone who hasn’t been a start. Yeah. About Taylor Green. Yeah, he has a year left. I like Tayen Green. I could see that. Could they steal Marcel Reed? Probably not. What about Oh, here’s a name. Malik Washington from Maryland. Don’t hate that. Don’t hate that at all. Don’t hate that at all. Um, Raiola, Marcel Reed’s kind of intriguing. If Rule goes to Penn State, Raola, I could They’re going to try to He will go in the portal. De Man Williams from Washington. Can’t say I’ve watched much of them. I mean, he’s a sophomore. He’s falling out. Trinidad Chamblas. Does he have another year of eligibility? I believe he does, but he’s staying at Old Miss. I don’t know. We’ll see. Connor Wegman. Wegman. Yeah, he’s not worth money like that, though. I think it’s Mensaw, dude. I think Mensaw is going to be the most soughtafter guy in the portal. You think he’s going back to the portal? Yeah, why not? Yeah, he’ll get paid more money and he’ll improve his long-term ability in the draft as well because if he’s like the QB of Miami and he plays well, he’s going to go in the first round. So, all right. We’re having a little bit of an issue with the super chat, so give us one second, Rob. But then we’ll get our Q&A underway. Do we have enough questions, C? Yeah. Okay, we have enough questions. So, we’re good there. Dude, I literally can’t wait for Washington Baylor college basketball Sunday at 6:30. Is Washington good or 730s? Yeah. Well, they got a top 15 pick in Hane Steinbeck. Oh, that’s right. And Baylor, who’s the better team, but they have a top 10 guy, too. Is Tund Yusfu, related to Joseph Yasufu. I don’t know. All right, there we go. God, the super chat’s back up. Rob, we’ll answer this on the mailbag as well. And I believe him. Listen, maybe he’s got the traits, man. Can make every throw in the book. Get him healthy. Get him in O line. I’ll have to see what he can do at the end of the year. That’s why we need to bench Tua at some point to see what we got in Ears. We need Jordan Brooks. Is it? Yeah, Jordan Brooks is number three. We need Jordan Brooks to give up his number. KJ Britt. KJ Britt. We need KJ Brit to give up his number. Yeah. All right, let’s get into the mailbag. Coupe, we’ll do a sack. Drop our pants and what is it? Drop our bags. Drop our bags and do the sack. Touch our sacks. Touch our sacks. Real ones know. Real ones know. We’re going to get into our mailbag. So, if you aren’t already in, dolphins or super chat is the way to get on it. Um, you can do it throughout the video and maybe you can get on at the, uh, discretion of producer Coupe. So, Coupe, when you’re ready, uh, just add a, uh, the name badge to this, please, and then we can get underway. All right, let’s do it. Let’s get the final segment on today’s Thursday live show. And then we got the weekend, baby. Me. What? Ladies and gentlemen, the weekend. Have you seen that video? All right. I am Nick Goloff. This is Dolphins Today by Chat Sports. Dolphins host the Bills in week 10. Tomorrow, today we’re answering some questions on a mailbag. Appreciate everybody for joining us on our Thursday live show. If you don’t, well, make sure you subscribe and join us. We’ll start with Flatliner who asks, “Is it bad to want Quinners to start now?” I I think it might be a little premature, but as we laid it out on a video Thursday morning, I think it would be a very smart decision for the Dolphins to eventually bench Tua for the rest of the season and start the rookie seventh round pick out of Texas, Quinn. Why do I believe that? Well, this season is going nowhere. And I think it’s actually already over because you need to go 10 and seven to make the playoffs this year in the AFC. you’re already two and seven. You’re not going to run the table. So, when you are mathematically eliminated, whether it is in two weeks or three weeks, whenever that ultimately comes, as soon as you see that E next to your name in the standings, that is when you should bench Tua in favor of Quinn because you can justify to the media that, hey, the season’s over. We want to see what the young quarterback has. And there is multiple reasons why it’s a good thing. One, you preserve 21. You don’t get him hurt potentially. Two, you are able to fully evaluate Quinn Ears for what he is. And if you start him for the entire month of December in the final month of the year and he lights it up and gets you two wins, which might not actually be a good thing in the grand scheme of things, but he could also prove to you that heck, maybe I deserve a chance to be the starter in 2026. and Miami goes into the draft free agency with the mindset of building the trenches, helping out the defense, and hey, we’re going to start Quinny in 2026. So that is another reason why you want to evaluate him for a full month. But you also are given the opportunity to evaluate Mike McDaniel and what he’s able to do from a play calling in game like script and scheme decisions that he makes with a quarterback that isn’t as limited as Tua is. Like it would be the first time he’s able to really create a game plan for a quarterback offensively that isn’t Tua. So, I think I would be very intrigued with how Quinn does as well as Mike McDaniel does, which gives him an opportunity to prove why he should be kept as the head coach going forward after this season. Let me know your thoughts on this question though. Do you want the Dolphins to win on Sunday? Why for yes, N for no? Get down in the comments section and let me know your thoughts. Super chat from Rob. Damn it. Miami drafted their next QB already in Eor. I believe in them. Won’t spend too much time on this question because we kind of just broke down why we think he should start ultimately late in the year. Like I mentioned, I I think December is probably the right time for that. Get through the rest of this month where you play the Commanders, the Saints, and the Bills. If you go 0 and three in those games with a buy in between, you’re going to be sitting at 2 and 10 with the final five games of the year in December and January. And I would start ears for the games against the Jets, Bengals, Steelers, Bucks, and uh Patriots to round out the season. Mo, what do you think of Lou Riddick being hired as the GM? I’m not in on that. And I know it’s a popular name for Dolphins fans. And and I unfortunately don’t want to call you out here, Mo, but I like I think it’s the flashy stuff that gets people. And it’s the same thing with John Gruden as a head coach candidate. Like I just am not in on the talking heads, the media heads because I think they get ri like rise up because they are in the media. Fans see them consistently. I don’t think they are good decisions. I I would list about 10 people I would rather have over Lewis Riddick. Five of them are on your screen right now. Like I would have to pick if I could. Ray Agnu, great option, but I think Ed Dods and Chad Alexander are my top two options right now, assistant GMs for the Colts and Chargers. I’m intrigued with Josh Williams, director of scouting for the San Francisco 49ers. And a name that’s really rising up the ranks as well is Philadelphia Eagles assistant GM Alec Halib. He’s a good name to monitor as well. I also like Mike Greenberg, the assistant GM for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The point I’m trying to make is this. I am not going to hire someone that has been in the media for the last five years. I am going to hire someone that has been actually in a front office working the phones, communicating on a day-to-day basis for each of the last at least five seasons. Not to throw shade at you, Moko, but the people who want Gruden hired as head coach and Lewis Riddick hired as GM, I I just think are dumb. I was trying to find another word for it. I couldn’t. I I think it’s shortsighted just because they see their name and see their face talking every day to want them to be hired. Turpps with a question. Top five head coach candidates. Yeah, I think they should fire Mike McDaniels. So, if I’m going five head coach candidates, I’m going Robert Salah. He’s my number one. I I want him. He He really is. Defensive coordinator for the 49ers. thought he got the raw end of the stick with how the tenure ended in New York with the Jets and he’s just been a phenomenal defensive coach throughout his entire career and I think he would really whip this defense into shape that boy oh boy needs it in Miami. I think Mike McCarthy is a really good option as well. A stable coach that knows how to win, good offensive mind as well. If you want to go with more of a new age head coach, a first timer, I think Jesse Mentor, the defensive coordinator for the Chargers is an intriguing name. Uh Chris Schula, the defensive coordinator from the Los Angeles Rams. Who was the other name that I consistently mention? There’s always five. There’s those four and there’s a fifth name I can’t think of. Coup’s going to get back to me on that one, but I certainly really like those four a lot. Trying to envision who it is. I can’t. It’s going to kill me. And I apologize for really just talking in circles here answering this question. But there is a head coach candidate that I like and I can’t think of who it is. But Coupe, time to move on. We can’t spit on here forever. So I sorry can’t give you a fifth. I’m going four. Make sure you do subscribe and join me on Sunday for Dolphins Bills. This is our thumbnail. We’ll be live one hour before the game. So, noon central time or noon Eastern time, 11:00 a.m. Central time. This is our thumbnail. Subscribe and join us. Quinn L, we have three picks in the third round. Do we go O line for all three? No. Um, Quinton, appreciate the question, but that that is just asine thinking. I understand we need offensive line, but in no world do you address one position with three picks in the one round. Like even doing it twice is a little bit egregious. And that’s what the Arizona Atlanta Falcons did a year ago, taking Jaylen Walker and James Pierce Jr. in the first round of the draft. Like I I just think Miami has an okay baseline at offensive line as bad as it has been. Like think about this. Patrick Paul is under contract at left tackle. Jonah sucks, but he’s still under contract at left guard. Aaron Brewer still under contract at center. James Daniels still under contract at right guard and Austin Jackson’s still under contract at right tackle. Like your entire starting offensive line is under contract for next year. And I know there’s been injuries to it and poor play, but I don’t think you should be like spamming offensive line. I did have in my mock draft Spencer Fano, the offensive lineman from Utah going to Miami with the fourth overall pick. I think that’s a fine and good decision. He’s my number one nonquarterback offensive player for Miami in this draft right now. But like you don’t need the draft three offensive lineman because you already have a okay baseline at the offensive line position with Jackson Brewer, Jonah, Paul, and James Daniels all being under contract. Tom Collins, if we are not taking a QB in the first round, do we trade back for more picks? I think it’s very dependent on where they are ultimately picking. Let’s say they pick number three overall. They currently have the fourth pick. Let’s say it’s number three. First two quarterbacks go or first two picks go Fernando Mendoza and Ruben Bane Jr. because I think Ruben Bane Jr. has leapfrogged into the best player in this draft that isn’t a quarterback and you are sitting there at three. You have one QB off the board, one edge. You can either sit there and pick a guy like Spencer Fau or Caleb DS or reach on a quarterback like Tai Simpson, Dante Moore. I don’t personally believe Miami should take any of those quarterbacks with that third overall pick in this scenario. So, if a team like the Cleveland Browns who might be picking like six or seven or the team like the Los Angeles Rams who has multiple first round picks calls Miami and says, “Hey, we’ll offer you our two first rounders this year and some day two draft picks to move up to number three.” Yeah, I would take it because then you could go allline Dline in the first round this year. Um, really get some more assets to build out the base and foundation of this roster. Like I think I would keep a top two pick. If it’s Bendoza or you can draft Ruben Bame, but if you’re picking three or four and some teams are offering multiple first to move up, I would certainly consider more questions to be answered. But grab your Dolphin Salute to service gear, whether it’s a hoodie, whether it’s a hat, um polo, footballs, memorabilia, chatsports.comloo. Always loves supporting our troops and our service. Um, so if you want to get some salute to service Dolphins gear, links in the description and comments of today’s video. One more time, chatports.comdolphins salute. Little Mermaid with a question. Do you think we should keep Tua after they fired Greer? Well, they’re going to probably keep him. I mean, that’s just the simple fact of the matter. Like, his contract is not very appealing to other teams. And if you cut him post June 1st, you would have $67 million debt cap this upcoming year. And that’s probably not just going to happen happen, right? Like you probably ultimately carry Tua through 2026 and cut him after that and only have $33 million in debt cap. So I think Tua is going to be on this roster in 2026. Now, will he be the starting quarterback? I don’t know. Miami has a top three pick and they take a guy that you think is a starting quarterback and ultimately beats out Tua in training camp. Well, then you just have a Falcon situation where you have a $50 million backup quarterback. It’s like unfortunate. You don’t want that because it’s hard to win when you are paying that much money to someone who doesn’t play for you on a week-to-eek basis. But I think Tua is going to be on this roster next year. We’ll ultimately see if he uh is on the roster past that. I don’t expect that, but he will be here next year in my opinion. Chris, since we are on the QB topic, do you still think Sellers is a good candidate based on falling short in the past few games? Yeah, I I still do like Sellers. Um, do I like him enough to take him inside the top five? That’s where it gets a little bit dicey. I I don’t know if that’s the best move for the Miami Dolphins at this point because the Dolphins just have so many other needs. Like if the Dolphins were like a quarterback away, okay, but like you have so much holes defensively and on the offensive line that I think there’s better options than Lenor Sellers if you’re picking the top five. But if you win a couple games down the stretch and you’re picking like seven through 11 and you’re Lenor Sellers is there, okay, I might take him. I I think his raw talent, it just cannot be overstated. like 6’4 240 will run a sub440 if he or sub440 yard dash if he runs it. It’s hard to bring him down. It’s big Benes. He’s got a cannon who was 60 yard pass against Alabama where he barely stepped into it from the 40 to the goal line was ridiculous. He’s got a cannon. He just has inaccurate tendencies and mechanical issues. But if your coaching staff believes that those can be fixed, feel pretty good about that, right? So yeah, I’m still in on sellers. I just don’t think I would take them in the top three, top five. Hit that sub button for daily Dolphins content. Mentioned earlier, we’ll be live for the game tomorrow against the Bills. So subscribe, join us. Busch Gardens fan, what are the biggest needs we can get in free agency? I expect Miami to be very selective in free agency. Let’s say that. Um I think they will be very selective because they don’t have a lot of cap space. They actually are bottom five in cap space this upcoming summer. Um they will actually be cutting Tyreek Hill. That saves them 36 million based off some early projections. We’ll see what it ultimately comes out to be, but I think Miami will end up having around 30 to $35 million in cap space going into free agency. Maybe might a little bit more, maybe a little bit less. But the point I’m making here is like you won’t expect to see them going big game hunting in free agency. So, I think they’re going to have to be really selective with some veteran players or like young players looking to bounce back and uh go for one, two-year deals. I think wide receiver is an option for sure because like I mentioned, you’re cutting Tyreek Hill. I think you’re going to need to find a wide receiver too for Jaylen Wadd. You’re going to need to add to that defense. Certainly gonna have to add an edge rusher. Going to have to add people in the secondary, corner, safety. Defensive line is probably fine, right? Because you have Kenneth Grant, Jordan Phillips, and Zack Celler returning. So, you just hope those three will be able to be better next year than this year. But, you’re going to need an edge rusher. You’re going to need a wide receiver, too. You’re going to need a tight end. you’re going to need um corner and you’re going to need safety. Those are the biggest five because you’re good at running back. You’re probably not going to spend on O line because you have a full starting group coming back. Um you need an edge. Your linebackers are fine. You have Tyrell Dodson and Jordan Brooks still under contract. So, it’s really corner, safety, edge, tight end, and um yeah, that’s it. Those are the five. Those are the five that I’m looking at. Pierce, do we trade Tua for a seventh and they take half the dead cap? Listen, if you could do that, I I would be in. I mean, now there’s still going to be a boatload of dead cap for Miami, even if the other team agrees to pay the entire contract. That’s just how the contracts work with already guaranteed money and stuff like that. But if the Dolphins were offered a seventh to take two off our hands, I’m in, man. like I am like these are the cap hits. You saw them on screen if it for the new team if they got traded. It’s basically just the base salary plus all the bonuses they can have. So you saw 55 for 2026, 37 in 2027 and then 48 in 2028. But if you take that on, you could ultimately cut them after 2026 like Miami probably will and not have a lot there. But I just doubt a team would ultimately trade a seventh fora and take on the money because who has the money to do that? Not many teams and why would you? That’ll do it for today’s show. Appreciate everybody for tuning in. If you want to be on our mailbags in the future, you got to be subscribed and join us for our Thursday live shows where Coupe and I answer your questions. So, subscribe and join us for the future. Were you looking for Mike McCarthy? No, I said McCarthy. He was on the list of 10. might have been. I don’t know. Might have been. Oh, did I have uh No, maybe not. Did I have Vance Joseph on there? He was on one of them. Yes. Okay. Maybe. I don’t know. 1. I would love to see Miami when, at least make it close, I'm so disappointed with the team that gm put out ther, how about beat the bills lose the rest,we know what's going to happen anyway 😢😢😢

  2. We could possibly get a QB with our 1st pick and let him sit for a year behind Tua. But it would probably be better to wait until 2027. But if Tua looks good in 2026 we may end up keeping him.
