It Just Got VERY Real…

It just got very real for the Toronto Raptors as this team is now among the favorites to land Jaw Morant via trade. We know the need out there at the point guard position for this roster. We know the history Jaw Morant has with Dark Rayako which will play very big part in recruiting him here. So, we will discuss the truth about a John trade as well as multiple other updates for this Raptors group as new jerseys have been leaked for this Raptors team which has the fan base fairly fired up as well as a look ahead to tonight’s game against the Atlanta Hawks. So, lots of stuff to really break down in this video. But folks, we are oh so close to 40,000 subscribers and still over 53% of our viewers are not subscribed to the channel. So, if you want to stay up to date with all the latest games, rumors, updates regarding this Raptors group, make sure you guys hit that subscribe button and we’ll deliver you daily Toronto Raptors news and you get to be a part of a giant milestone out here on the channel. But, let’s dive into it because of course, a lot of discourse over the past week has been revolved around Jaw Morant, who has really blown things up out there at the Memphis Grizzlies. He was sent on a oneame suspension, ironically enough, against the Toronto Raptors. He doubled down on his frustrations in postgame interviews. And what it’s really come down to is John Morant is frustrated with the lack of communication from the coaching staff. He doesn’t feel respected by the coaching staff out there in Memphis. And he is letting his feelings be known. We know John Morant is an emotional guy. You know, has had some off-the-court stuff happen out there in the past and he is letting people know out there with his uh postgame discussions and that has led a lot of people to bring up the possibility of a trade. We broke down multiple videos on the Shams reports about how teams are really monitoring this situation. We broke down the quotes John Morant has had. So check out the previous videos here, but the Raptors now are among the favorites to get it and get John Morant in a trade and it’s getting more and more likely. I’ll break down uh one of the updates first as Kevin Durant essentially is trolling uh John Morant’s dad saying, “Your son doesn’t want to be here. We know it’s your last weekend. Enjoy your time.” So, some people are reading into this saying, “Hey, KD knows what’s going on and Jarant trade is incoming and he wouldn’t be saying this if a trade wasn’t incoming.” Might be reading into this a little bit too deep and stuff, but that has led some people to believe that Jarant is going to get traded very, very soon. On top of it, the Raptors are now officially among the favorites to land Morant. Now, this summer, the Toronto Raptors were top of this list in terms of uh trade destinations for Jaw. Currently, we are fifth behind the Heat, the Rockets, the Nets, the Kings, and the Raptors. Now, now the point about this is these odds are very, very close. It’s not like there’s a runaway favorite out there for a trade for John Bar. The Raptors are certainly in the mix, and they certainly should be for a couple of reasons. And the first one, of course, is the need at the point guard position. Now, I like Emanuel Quickley. I think his skill set is not he’s not as bad as he’s been to start off this year. But the truth is, Emanuel Quickley has been shooting 27% from the three-point line, only averaging 13 points per game, six assists, and defensively has had some question marks. Now, he can facilitate. He has shown flashes out there in the past. He’s shooting 11% out there on corner threes, but is only 26 years old, and I I’m still a believer in Emanuel Quickley. He’s not as bad as he’s been, but of course, getting a John Morant who has been having a down year for his own standards himself this season. again shooting 14% behind the three-point line but averaging 20 points per game, four re uh rebounds and seven assists on a in a season where he is just absolutely zoned out. Not not happy out there with the Memphis Grizzlies. John Morant is a significant talent upgrade over Emanuel Quickley and with how the Raptors have been playing, they are trying to win now. Adding a star caliber player out there in Jaw would definitely be something that uh the Raptors fits the Raptors mold. This team has been trying to make big star moves, big trades for the past couple, you know what, couple years. They’ve been doing it since the entire Messiah Jury, Bobby Webster tenure. Of course, Messiah’s out now. Bobby Webster’s leading the show, but this fits right up the alleyway of what the Toronto Raptors try to do. And as discussed, the Toronto Raptor, sorry, the Memphis Grizzlies big problem with John Morant right now is he doesn’t have a good relationship with the coach. One guy he does have a good relationship with is Darko Rayakovich, who was a former assistant coach out there at the Memphis Grizzlies. And if you search up any of the quotes John Morant has had to say about Darko Rayakovich, they’ve either been really funny or they’ve been very complimentary. This one was fairly uh funny popping up. But John Morant said, “Dark Rayakovich talked about swag a ton out there in his timeouts, you know, in a pretty candid fashion.” So that was a quote there from Jaw Barrett. You know, the development and the relationship. Darko was a players coach out there with the Grizzlies. It’s the reason he was hired by the Toronto Raptors because he’s great at relationship building and he’s already done it out there with the Memphis Grizzlies. So, that is something that people have looked at and been like, “Okay, that’s very, very uh, you know, intriguing, something pieced together.” And then on top of it, now the Ringer has posted a proposed trade that uh, you Raptors fans fired up, intrigued by the possibility of it going down. Now, the trade machine I have, can’t do the official trade that they proposed, but I’m bring it up here now uh for you guys to see, but essentially it would be John Morant going to the Toronto Raptors. They pitched Emanuel Quickley and Colin Murray Boils going to the Atlanta Hawks and then Trey Young going to the Grizzlies. Now, I flipped it for Ochiabaji because personally, I don’t think Colin Murray Boils should be in this deal. I think Colin Murray Boils has a ridiculous amount of upside and Oiabaji plays a position that is less of need for the Toronto Raptors and is uh having yes, a down year this year. might say, “Oh, trade value is not going to work.” Whatever. He’s 25 years old. Yes, things aren’t really working out for Oiabaji this season for this Raptors group, but you’d be selling uh the the Atlanta Hawks, I guess, in this uh package on his performance last season because last season Oi averaged 10 points per game, four rebounds, and uh 1.5 assists, was great defensively, and shot basically 40% from the three-point line. So, was one of the best corner three shooters out there in the league. So, that’s why I reorganized the ringer trade to be this one. And uh there’s multiple variations. The Raptors have the contracts and the assets to make this happen. The reason that uh they basically uh I’m pitching this one. Why I found it intriguing because the Hawks right now who we play tonight, so this will transition well into the discourse regarding uh you know tonight’s game. But the Atlanta Hawks been playing very very well with Trey Young being injured as they have remodeled their roster to be a team that’s filled with a bunch of long wiry defenders that knock down the floor that space those shots and you know they like this style of team that they’ve built and put together. So, you know, they’re quietly coming out with quotes, hey, we’re happy with how this group is looking and stuff. Of course, Trey Young is kind of the big dog out there in that franchise. But, uh, you know, sending him to the Grizzlies and then they get a long wiry defender in O Chiabaji. Emanuel Quickley could be like a backup guard for them or, you know, the three-point shooting guard without the, you know, crazy sort of money there for Trey Young. I guess it’s a longer contract for Emanuel Quickley, but he’d be more someone that you could bring off the bench or Trey Young would be impossible to bring off the bench given his relationship there with the organization. It’s an interesting package. And then the Grizzlies who are hesitant to trade away, you know, a foundational piece, a foundational start, they get one in Trey Young and they don’t want to tank, they don’t want to go in that direction. It’s a trade that I find very, very interesting. Now, with Colary Bulls, it’s probably more likely the Hawks accept and uh but the Raptors are a tough spot. So, there’d have to be some negotiation going down here, but it’s a very reasonable framework for an actual John Morant trade to happen. So, it’s something that is very, very intriguing. Of course, I am um you know, I’m intrigu I’m a big fan of the talent of Jaw Morant. I’m I don’t want to be one of those guys that’s just bagging on Emanuel Quickley. I still think Emanuel Quickley could be very awesome for this group. But the contract situation, it’s it’s an opportunity for Bobby Webster that’d be tough to pass up. So, uh we’ll keep our eye on this whole situation, but that’s not the only piece of news that we’re discussing out here in this vid as some Raptors jerseys have been leaked. Basically, uh you can see them here on the screen right now. the city edition jerseys for the Raptors to come out. And they’re interesting. They’re interesting. You know, some people are saying they look like a half finishedish coloring book, which I find intriguing. You know, you got the championship north candy cane jerseys wear worn on the Raptor there. I have to see how they look in person, but uh it’s a pretty bold choice, a bold style out there that the Raptors are going with with this kit, this jersey selection. So, let me know what you guys think about these new leaked Toronto Raptors jerseys. I mean, they’re uh they are what they are. The Raptors have had some of the best city edition jerseys in the entire NBA. I don’t know if I’d go that far with this one. I’m not going to say they’re bad, but uh some people are definitely say they’re bad and I get why. So, I’m not a big fan of the grayscale jerseys. The red in them it’s intriguing, but I hope this is cuz sometimes they tease the direction of the Raptors colorways and color schemes and stuff with the city edition jerseys. And I’ve been calling for Toronto Raptors retool like redesign, obviously keep the name, but redesigning their jerseys. I really don’t like our current kits, like our main kits, but you know, if we can get some new jerseys, I don’t want them to be like this. I want the Raptors to to go back to something really clean. Add some purple in there. I don’t really like the gray and red that the Raptors are looking at. So, let me know what you guys think about these jerseys, these kits here. But final thing we’re going to take a look at is uh tonight’s game because playing against the Atlanta Hawks, Jaylen Johnson’s been really good. The Raptors came out and already slapped around the Atlanta Hawks to start off the season. if uh we’re here. The Raptors and the Hawks have a very similar record right now in the Eastern Conference. So, we’ll be a nice separator to uh you know get the tiebreaker out there, the Atlanta Hawks because they’re probably going to be in the similar standings range as the Toronto Raptors at the end of the season. But, they’re going to be out for revenge because the Raptors really bullied them on game one of the NBA season. But this team, man, they have been very, very competitive over the past uh stretch of games. Raptors currently on a three-game win streak. You know, I’ve been breaking out the pizza party out there on these videos, out there on these uh streams and stuff. So, let me know what you guys think about this Raptors game here tonight. There will be no Trey Young out there for the Atlanta Hawks. So, the Raptors have Yaka Pearl back. He should be fairly healthy. So, we’ll see how things play out. Anyways, you guys this far. Reminder, if you made it this far in the video, very, very close to 40,000 subscribers. So, huge milestone for the channel. Make sure you guys hit that subscribe button. Anyways, I’m signing out. Cheers.

  1. No to Ja. What we need to do is trade a couple small wings for PG + C depth so if IQ struggles a given night we have some other options. This is also true if IQ or Shead gets hurt.

  2. I remember when the Vince Carter Jerseys were leaked and people ragged on them until they saw it on the players. Anything is better than those chevon jerseys.

  3. Perhaps it's unfair to bring this up
but I'm remembering the time a few years ago when Philadelphia was basically asking for Toronto's starting five players for Ben Simmons.

Turned out that it would have been a bad deal for Toronto to trade one starter for Simmons,
    let alone five starters.

There are some similarities between Simmons and Morant
even if their playing styles are very different.

    Injuries, prima donnas,
    lack of effort,
little interest in playing for teams that aren't champion contenders
and immense potential in their first couple of seasons that didn't work out well.

The only way this makes sense for the Raptors is if they trade for Morant to get rid of a couple of contracts that aren't working out and then trade Morant to a third team which has managers who think they can turn Morant into an all star or even a super star.

  4. Who is saying Morant is a favorite to land in T.O? ..cause I watched NBA today yesterday and they didn't say that, and they had all the bigs from the NBA media on the show including SAS – they named Boston, Mia, the Clip, Houston, a couple more teams but nt the Raps. Same with PTI, they never named the Raps.

  5. Its the fans who think the team needs a PG, not the team – listen monkee's, BobbEE DuBBs isn't trading away IQ right now because he had a few games of playing under his potential. Also, think about the addition, Morant is mid-game, you have BI who dines out on the mid, you have CBM the mid-master, and you have Jak and Scottie who gets theirs mostly from the mid – that's a lot of paint clogging. With this you become more of a crash and bang team in the paint hoping to get foul calls going you way – the advantage with it is that the other teams gets into foul trouble and the team gets to the bonus first … but things don't always go as planned. It's not a move BD wll make 10 games in – Memphis in trouble isn't up to the Raptors to be their saviour. Plus, it's almost a sideways with IQ talent wise – Morant is today's Westbrook, you can't win with him.

Also, I know you all want to build a "love fest" between Darko and Morant but its a different relationships from being one of the assistance to head coach.

  6. He is toxic – no team with him as their best player is going to win. First off, he doesn't want move the ball and play .5 basketball. After all the problems he has had he is right back at it. He is also injury prone. The things he has done to get in trouble are idiotic – waving a gun at a trip club then getting caught waving a gun in the car the same season??? He is an ultra rich moron – he does not need a gun. The only explanation is that he is an immature, dumb wankster. He's a cancer

  7. The Ja trade may just work but there's no guarantee and it's more likely that it is a bust, rather than a success. However, Dark being his older coach, a change of country and fanbase could just do wonders. He'd be on a team filled with up and coming stars. It could just work. Aside from him not playing any defense at all, I'm not too opposed to seeing how this goes. Be prepared for the worst but hope for the best, maybe?!

  8. Masai would never trade for a Rollin' 60s gang member with off court gun issues and other serious character flaws. Not to mention that he's injury prone and his father is another issue as well.

Need to stay away from Ja and let this team grow together. Only a minor trade is needed for a backup center ex: Ochai Ogbaji for Nick Richards.

  9. I think Ja Morant would be a bad addition to this team. The guy has had terrible shooting efficiency for the past 3 seasons, despite having a great team around him. His usage rate is like 32-35%. He's great in the mid range, but he's a MUCH worse perimeter threat than IQ. IQ usually shoots 37%, but Ja Morant is a 30% 3 pt shooter. He would clog the mid range. There's virtually no space for him on the floor. Sure he's explosive and has natural talent, but the guy has absolutely not gotten better over the past 3 seasons. That should be serious cause for alarm. He doesn't have the work ethic, and I think there's far too much ego there. He's great in transition, but he's way worse than IQ and RJ have historically been on the defensive end. He's a liability.

When he's on the floor, his team has a 106 offensive rating. When he's OFF the floor, his teams offensive rating sky rockets to 113. He's literally been bringing down the grizzlies for multiple seasons since he reached star status.

  10. I feel like it’s a little early to be trading quickley, yea he hasn’t been the best but like give him a chance to adjust man. This is basically Quickleys first official year as a starter yea you could argue last year but he was injured. GIVE BRO A CHANCE WERE NOT EVEN 10 GAMES IN!!!!!
