Two moments from last game: Bryce taking over late in the 4th, needing to lead yet another game-winning drive. Difficult day for him, stat-wise, offense struggled to get into any kind of rhythm. Bryce: smiles.

Another moment: Earlier in the game, the Packers‘ DB had blown up Bryce at the sideline before he stepped out of bounds. Emotions flared. One quarter later, very similar situation, but this time Bryce actually gets out of bounds all the way and the DB doesn’t hit him. They jog back onto the field, chatting and laughing, probably about Bryce having learned his lesson.

Bottom line: Bryce is never grim. He has fun playing this game. Despite all the shit he has already encountered. Reich, Mingo, regime change, being benched, injuries, sacks, turnovers. This dude still enjoys the hell out of each game, no matter the adversity. I love that trait about him. You don’t see that as regularly from other QBs in the league as you see it with him. Speaks volumes about the Carolina culture these days.

  3. Even if Bryce isn’t known as a lights out fantastic QB, his mentality is absolutely stellar and I appreciate everything he’s doing for our team. Keep Smiling. Keep Pounding.

  5. Yeah he’s a nice guy. Who threw for 100 yards, no TDs and a pick. We need a qb.

  9. Guys mental toughness is unparalleled. He’s weathered a lot of storms where other players would give up.

    Yall see the Vikings Chargers game a couple weeks ago? Wentz looked pretty washed, and in the 4th quarter was over on the sideline just having a meltdown. Slamming stuff, slouched back on the bench staring straight up at the ceiling. He may have even been crying. It looked that way to me. It was hard to not feel bad for the guy honestly

    But as rough as Bryce has looked at times, as lack luster and underwhelming as he has been for really the entire start of his career so far, we’ve never seen THAT from him, and I think that says a lot. At this point he has proven without the shadow of a doubt that he has the mental stability to succeed in this league. If the physical traits keep developing and improving then we’ve got our guy.

  14. Yeah Bryce just seems like a really cool guy man. Wish he was a better qb but definitely a guy you like to have around.

  15. Do you guys remember when that one fan asked him to sign a football after he got benched last year. So awesome to see him come back from his benching and making a case for himself. Kudos to that fan too!

  17. Reminds me of Cam mounting that comeback drive when Giants nearly had a successful comeback of their own

  18. There was some turning point last year where that deer in the headlights look on his face started to go away. Particularly after an interception or a missed throw on third down. He would always look so frustrated & dejected going back to the bench, but that started to change after he came back from being benched last year. I wanna say it was the Saints game where he led a game winning drive. He threw a couple picks that game but still came back and won. The Eagles game is where I saw it the most even if we didn’t win. He threw an awful pick early in that game & then led a TD drive against an elite opponent after we held them to a field goal. He’s got some form of “it.”
