Rob Pelinka deserves a lot of credit. Traded for Doncic and extended him, signed Ayton for 8m, LaRavia 6m, Smart 5m. Just incredible.

He ain’t even done cooking either. You know he got something up his sleeve for the deadline
He absolutely deserves credit.
I’ve been very critical of rob
But he deserves no slander for what he did this off season while preserving assets.
There’s room still to add to this already good team.
Honestly, other than the Westbrook debacle, he’s been pretty good overall.
Rob took a chance and deserves credit. Biggest credit goes to team culture. So called “Washed” players buying in on this team. Gotta love it!
FA coming to LA isn’t that hard of a sell. It was his close personal relationship (networking) with Nico which was great.
But I want him to be better in the margins – more innovative GM moves, which over his tenure hasn’t been great. Hopefully he has learnt from his mistakes and the experience he had GM’ing Lebron will help in the Luka era.
Bro the amount of hate that was on this subreddit for him this offseason was so ridiculous. I hated it here for a few weeks
Don’t forget about that rui for Nunn deal. That’s not talked about enough
Rob we still need a wing! Get rid of Gabe Vincent, Dalton Knecht and Maxi Kleiber!
Could’ve also had Caruso too 🤷🏻♂️
Well deserved! He did excellent job last offseason. Gotta give his flowers.
Bruh on the strength of landing Doncic alone this man is a legend
I think with Walter in charge he will have more budget to invest in scouting, nutrition/ training, and analytics.
Just don’t make a mistake that sets us back like trading for Westbrook.
I think robs greatest strength is really the moves he doesn’t make. There’s been so many times the media and fans were calling for him to make panic trades, for Derozan, Wiggins, Barnes etc but he seems pretty great at holding out for the truly correct move
Man, before the Luka trade I was so sour on Pelinka. Dude flipped it!
Putting my conspiracy hat on for a second: I’m convinced that after the Mark Williams trade went down, Luka’s agent told Pelinka that he could get Ayton to the Lakers. Makes sense considering they have the same agent and we got to keep all those assets for another trade.
Jerry West-esque. 👌
I’m still shocked by the Luka trade to be honest
Not to take anything away from him but Luka sought Ayton AND Smart…AR may have casted a vote for Laravia and JJ may have cosigned the whole lot…Rob ran the negotiations and he absolutely deserves his flowers for that…but these were all synergy movies with seemingly everyone in agreement about the gel…hence our current immaculate vibes…i know folks are seeking more, but we haven’t even experienced this whole vision in full effect…idk if its worth adding someone else
(which im interested who yall have in mind SPECIFICALLY that is both capable, available, and likely to fit in with the vibes MORE than us giving someone thats already a part of the team thats meshing already…)
But kudos to Rob for sure he’ll make a deal!
Ideally, a mix of Dalton, Maxi and Gabe could still give us something like an extra big in the off-season. If it meant messing with any key pieces, I’d say we’re good as it is for this season.
Overall great job, either with or without extra moves.
Crushes your soul knowing we had the WB era.
All the haters real quiet now 😂😂😂
Getting Doncic is a no brainer…being able to pull off the trade without completely imploding the team was the master stroke. Yeah, huge gaping holes to address but there was vision and a path forward. Quality bigs are hard to come by and here we are. Pieces starting to lock into place and it looks fantastic.
So who’s idea was Montrezl and Westbrook?
This does not seem like the same dude
He’ll have coffee with Nico the dumbass again and trade Bronny + Filler for Flagg.
I’ve been telling the group chat Marcus Smart is going to win the Lakers a playoff game! He’s a true pro and his defensive tenacity doesn’t always show up in the box score but it’s a real difference maker.
It’s good that he doesn’t consider these sub’s trade essays. We also dodged a bullet pursuing BroLo and Beal.
It’s been like 10 games bruh. Y’all make it seem like the Lakers just became a dynasty.
Lol bruh if laravia was bricking shots and ayton wasnt moving any needle yall would saying rob needa to be fired.
This is a championship contending core. With tradeable pieces available to shore up the team’s needs.
The Luka era is gonna be so good.
“Traded for Luka”
He definitely going to be under the microscope more than ever with new ownership. Been doing well but ultimately he’ll be judged on how well the team plays in the postseason.
bro rebuilt the team without blowing it up, Lakers and Dodgers for the next ten years are set
So we don’t want him fired anymore? Is hard to keep up
