“ Kyler right now is in the building, he’s working hard, he’s doing everything he can to get himself healthy,” Ossenfort said. “That’s where his focus is, and we’re gonna do everything we can to get him in a good spot to help us out come later in the season once he’s completely healthy.”

It all depends on Jacoby the next month.
3 of the next 5 games are against top 5 teams. If Jacoby is sitting at 2-6 when Kyler could come off IR it would be malpractice for them not to see how Kyler plays in this offense now.
Moving off your longest tenured QB since moving to Arizona is a huge decision to make when you don’t have an answer for life beyond him or a soon to be 33 year old career backup who’s never had sustained success.
Of course the idea of Kyler playing again makes people’s heads explode in here but it’s certainly possible 😂

Imagine how bad a player taking up 15% of your cap space has to be in order for you to say this.
If Murray was really as good as a lot of this sub thinks he is there’d be no question he’d be back starting. The gm would be talking about him starting. Not vague statements about making an assessment.
But he’s a below average starter so he’s done and the only assessment Monti will do is to figure out if he can trade him or just cut him.
If brisket balls in the next 4 weeks I don’t see us pulling him. But if he’s mediocre then I imagine they might see what Murray can do. But then you also risk the chance of injuring him if you do want to move him. If brisket starts to suck we’re likely out of playoff contention anyways.

Starting QB position is Jacoby’s to hold or lose at this point. If he plays the next 4 weeks like he has the past 3 Kyler won’t be starting again this year. We’ve seen Kyler for 7 seasons now and it’s clear he is just a middle of the pack guy.

I’m not a Kyler fan. I don’t like him. Don’t want him. Can’t wait to be rid of him. But the love for JB is mind boggling to me.
If the cards win the next two games with JB all that does is mean their record with JB is what it should have been under KM but for braindead mistakes made by people who weren’t KM.
KM played well enough to get us to 5-0. And frankly, JB has played well enough to be 3-0. The problems on this team aren’t the QB and everyone passionately arguing one way or the other is missing the actual root causes of our problems.
