Rashid was one thing, I gotta tip my hat to Khan he tried but obviously neither wanted to play for Pitt 🤷🏾♂️.
Must say though, For Jakobi to prefer Jacksonville over us is insane to me.

Florida is much nicer this time of year
Don’t forget the FL tax situation and weather. Not all of these decisions are strictly about football.
Bjt and Hunter are injured. He’s playing for a contract. Best bet is as the #1 in Jax.
Volunteers, not hostages
jakobi is getting paid next offseason, and likely not by the jags.
would you rather chill in florida for the winter, or pittsburgh? it’s a pretty easy answer for most people
Wow you couldn’t have waited until Monday to slap us across the face like this. ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON?
“NFL player picks Jacksonville strippers and blow over Pittsburgh snow”
I think Halicke said this about Shaheed, not Myers, and said it was due to a prior relationship with Klint Kubiak.
On the Myers trade he said he didn’t get specifics but the package was probably similar, so it might not have been Myers choice to make.
He doesn’t have any eligibility left, playing for Pitt was never an option
Weather and no state income tax
Happy to hear they at least tried. Sometimes fans forget that the players make choices too.
He’s playing for a contract we have d.k and run the ball he’ll have more opportunities in Jax
This is for all the Steelers fans who wanted this mid receiver
Why would he go somewhere where he will get 2-4 targets per game?
I’ve just never bought the Jakobi Meyers hype. He’s a good receiver. But I wouldn’t put him leagues above CA3. He’s obviously better, but not by a huge margin imo. A half season rental for 2 draft picks? No fucking thanks.
Both have a way better QB situation for the next 2-5 years so it’s not that surprising imo
I’d imaging the looming WB uncertainty is a big reason. He also probably wants a pass heavy offense where he can be a focal point so he can get paid next year.
Little fish in a big pond in Pittsburgh – little pond and he’s a big fish in Jacksonville!
I doubt very sincerely the Raiders went to Jakobi Meyers and said “we love ya kid, you tell us who you want to play for and we’ll make it happen”
Seems like the report didn’t sensationalize based on an above comment, so whoever made this instagram post is just making shit up
Totally understand – Jacksonville is a more preferable situation for a receiver, especially with Hunter on IR. Too many mouths to feed in Pittsburgh, and our offense has been struggling to stay on the field. Myers is trying to play well for his next contract.
I mean Jacksonville’s top two receivers are on rookie deals, and both are injured right now. They also pass more than us sooo. He has a much better chance to feature and maybe get re-signed there.
Smart
Could be Oakland preferred Jacksonville picks over ours. If it was Meyers decision then I dont blame him, WR2 here is not many targets compared to WR1 or WR2 in Jacksonville. Man is up for another contract, needs to the opportunities.
If it was a sign and trade like DK, then maybe Pitt wouldve been a more enticing opportunity but not as is
Enjoy being overthrown to by Hootie and the Blowfish’s old drummer.
No state tax in florida
This has everything to do with money. Same deal, but he recieves more of his money in FL bc of the no income tax.
Better weather and exactly the same chances of winning a playoff game or the Super Bowl. That’s what we call a no-brainer.
He’ll keep more of his money in FL *and* he knows what he’s getting in Trevor Lawrence compared to the Steelers coin toss of a QB situation (again).
Can’t blame him.
Florida taxes are much better. $ move.
Florida has no state income tax. He gets a lot more $.
I can tell you this much, you people are working yourself into a frenzy for no reason. We played the Raiders on Sunday right before he was traded. Our GM, top exec, and head coach personally went over to talk with Meyers.
If you’re given the choice between two places and the difference is you have a personal, positive interaction with one, makes sense you’d pick them, right?
80 degree winters and no state income tax..not a hard decision.
