  1. Not that I disagree with it but anytime anything the Leafs do that involves the cap I just assume this is shenanigans and we’re just getting fed a line for “the official record”

  3. My guess is Kampf wants out and is willing to terminate to do it. The Leafs are trying to see if there is a trade out there available first that would still get Kampf his money but the Leafs aren’t going to take money back to do it. Kampf is fine to not get paid for a short amount of time to see if they can get a deal done. I expect sometime next week he is either traded or contract is terminated.

  4. Is mutually agreeing to end the contract a thing in the NHL? I know you can do it in other professional leagues. I haven’t really looked into the CBA that deep.

    His cap hit is too high for other teams to take on, Leafs don’t want to retain or buy him out, they are fine burying him. He wants to play in the NHL. It makes sense for both parties.
