Leafs make INTERESTING move… Multiple MASSIVE Leafs Updates | Toronto Maple Leafs News

Here’s some breaking news. The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a very interesting move. And following what has been a wild past few days, past few weeks of injury updates, speculation, and of course transactions, the Leafs have made yet another move, this time surrounding a goalender. We’re going to break down exactly what it is, but most importantly discuss what it means going forward as this has massive implications on one other player in particular. That is huge. We also have a bunch of injury updates, a ton to go over today, folks. You’re going to want to stay tuned till the end of the video. It’s going to be a juicy one. But before we get into it all, quick reminder to hit that subscribe button. Your guys support has been unbelievable. Darius, we had a video earlier today on the David Camp situation. That’s of course a big story line right now. Some injury updates. More injury updates have come out which we’ll dive into and some more updates in general. But the Leafs have made a move surrounding a short-lived goalie here in Toronto, Kaden Primo. As the Leafs have officially placed Kaden Primo on waiverss. Now, we’re going to break down what this means because Darius, he had a pretty rough stint here in Toronto. He had two wins and he had a loss of course a 4.3 goals against average. A horrific save percentage that unfortunately lines up pretty closely to what his career stats are in the NHL. Kaden Primo experience, experiment, whatever you want to call it, is over. Joseph Wall, what this means for him is very encouraging. Yeah. And he’s coming back, but he’s not coming back tomorrow, which I think makes things very interesting, and I want to talk about that a little bit. But in terms of Kaden Primo, yes, he had two wins and obviously the loss, but he was letting in a ton of goals. like you mentioned, you know, his statistics so far this year align with where he’s at for his career, at least at the NHL level. He’s a good AHL goalie, a really good AHL goalie, but I don’t know if he was going to get the job done and he was never really the long-term plan for the Leafs. I think it was just, you know, picking him up because they had the option to do that. He was on waiverss at the right time essentially in training camp and they wanted Hildabby to go down and, you know, continue his development with the Marlies, not have to worry about the stress of playing in the NHL. But I think that he is going to have to worry about that this weekend because I think it’s Hill to be coming up and Joseph Wol will be playing for the Toronto Marlies. So I think they’re going to have Hill to be backup as the backup at least for this weekend. I think Wool is going to get three games in with the Marlies. We’ll kind of see how that plays out and uh you know what their schedule is looking like and stuff like that. But then I would imagine Wool’s going to join the team again at some point next week. So that’s good news. He’s back. He’s ready to go. He spoke out today a little bit too. We can get to some of that in terms of he didn’t want to get into specifics as to why he was gone, but he’s glad to be back. He’s ready to go. So, he’s going to get his conditioning in with the Marlies and I believe it’s going to be Hill to be that we’ll see called back up to join the Leaves tomorrow as the backup. So, pretty interesting moves there. Uh Primo, we’ll see if he gets reclaimed as well. Like I don’t actually think he’s going to make it to the Marlies. We’ll see what happens with that. It’s definitely possible still, but uh for now I think it’s going to be Hill to be up for a couple games and then we’ll see Wool next week which is exciting. Yeah, it was started off as uh the James Rymer turn experience turned into now the gay primo and ultimately experiment didn’t really work out there though I guess you could say he won two of the games so they didn’t it wasn’t the worst case in the world now $775,000 cap hit is a UFA so it’s going to enter free agency assuming that he clears waiverss only 26 years old and people like to take flyers on goalies some of them are late bloomers we’ll see what happens on that note but what it means now is that like you mentioned Joseph Wall is getting closer to a return is set to get back into game action with the Marley soon as announced this afternoon by head coach Craig Barub. So, he actually is now going to not, like you mentioned, not start with the lease to go down to the Marlies, which means that we’re going to see Dennis Hillby play, which you could argue would have been the better play off of RIP anyway because of how bad Kane Primo has been. I’m sure they assumed um that Kane Primo would be a little bit better than this, but ultimately they’re prioritizing Dennis Hildabbee’s development down there. Arch team of all these guys, but Hildy does need to get a stretch or sorry um Joseph Wall needs to get a stretch with the Marlies and it won’t won’t hurt of course Dennis Hildabby to get a stretch with the A& NHL team instead of the AHL team. But Joseph Wall also spoke out today and gave some interesting things to the media. Now he opens the session by thanking the Leafs organization and everyone for his privacy. I’ve really been blown away by how much support I’ve received and obviously first class organization, world-class organization and we all know how good that was and shout out to everybody there for respecting his privacy. didn’t hear any, you know, negatives on that front. And, you know, the biggest thing with Joseph Wall is going to be that he gets 100% ready to come back. Now, whether it be Dennis Hill to be, whether it be, you know, someone else, it’ll be Dennis Hillbey. They need to make sure that he is 100% good, both not injury-wise necessarily, but for someone who’s been out as long as he has, you have to prioritize your health because injuries can happen pretty easily when you haven’t had a uh, you know, a full training camp in. He didn’t have any training camp. Yeah. I know he I think he was there for 2 days and then he left right on his leave of absence. So, uh obviously he’s got to get back into the rhythm of things. He has been skating though, but obviously it’s not game action. He needs to get into game action. So, that’ll be exciting to watch. Also, Hilde, they have a backto-back this weekend. So, I imagine Hild Deb is going to play one of the games probably Sunday. We’ll see what the matchup is. We don’t have any confirmation on that. But, uh Hillbe for, you know, where credit where credit’s due. Um you know, he was the best goalender the Leafs had in the preseason. He was he he played awesome, right? So, we’ve seen in the past that, you know, he hasn’t been that good at the NHL level. So, I’m excited to see what he has. Obviously, he’s been down with the Marlies. Uh, but that’ll be exciting to watch as well. So, I think that’s a big story line. And again, with Joseph Wool coming back, that’s going to be huge for the Leafs because Stlars has been playing great. Not taking anything away from him, but he’s been playing a lot and they’re going to have to lean a little bit more on Joseph Wool for the next little while. I think they’ll probably still do the tandem thing one and one and one as they were doing at the end of last year. But just to give Stlars a little bit of a break because that might catch up to him at some point. He might get burnt out a little bit. So that’s something to monitor as well. So uh this is good news. We’ll be you know obviously keeping an eye on Wool and how he does with the Marlies, but uh I imagine he’ll be fine. Get his conditioning up and he’ll be ready to go next week. Yeah, quick note on Crimo as well. He was up the with the Leafs for 31 days. So I don’t believe that the Hurricanes can reclaim him and directly place him with their AHL club. So keep that in mind as well. It was a short-lived but a month for Kaden Primo, but is is interesting there. Now, ahead of the game tomorrow, Buru spoke out and revealed some interesting things. Now, the power play has been terrible. We discussed that in our video earlier. It’s some of the worst in the NHL. He said that we got one power play game, maybe two. I mean, that’s a little bit of a problem for sure. How can Leafs draw more penalties? I don’t know. You have to ask the league. So, we know how bad the power play has been. We know that the Leafs rarely get them. And I want to get your thoughts on this in the comments section and yours as well, Darius. Do you think the NHL obviously they don’t have something out you know to prove against the Leafs but they have been drawing penalties a lot less than uh than other teams which makes things quite interesting here and you can look at how good or how bad rather the uh the Leafs power play has been the power play percentage the amount of power plays they’re getting it’s up there with some really really um interesting teams and some bad teams as well. Do you think this is a problem? And to me it’s like I don’t really want to complain about the rest because even when they get in the power play they don’t score anyway. though. Bur is saying that they should ask the league why the Leafs don’t get any any power plays, which is quite the interesting statement there. Definitely interesting there from Craig Bubet. But I’m not going to blame the league for this, but it is a problem. They have to draw more penalties. You look at the Florida Panthers, they draw way more penalties than pretty much everyone else in the entire league. So, they get those opportunities to go on the power play, but even when the Leafs get those opportunities, they’re not very good. So, they have to fix the power play first and foremost. We talked about that a little bit the last couple of days, like the entries, uh, that killer instinct, that sense of urgency, like that needs to be there. Uh, first of all, but even the game I went to earlier this week, I think they only got one and then there was going to be another one, but they scored on the delayed penalties. So, you’re only getting like one a game and I think they’re doing enough in the offensive zone, especially lately. They have more sustained pressure in the offensive zone. Earlier in the season, it was more off the rush. I get why you’re not getting the power play opportunities, but now that they’re cycling more, all four lines, honestly, are, you know, establishing themselves in the offensive zone. They’re still not drawing penalties. I think that’s a little weird at that point. So, not saying that they should start embellishing or anything like that, but uh you know, something has to be done here where they have to that is a problem. They have to draw more uh power play opportunities for themsel. But even the stats don’t lie. Even when they’re on the power play, even if it is once a game, it has been horrible, right? So, they have to uh they have to get that going because the special teams can make or break your season. Something big to keep an eye out on over the double header this weekend. But folks, that’ll wrap it up. Let us know down below what your thoughts are on all this. Kayen Primo gone. Joseph Wall in somewhat soon. And Dennis Hill we assume on the weekend. Thank you guys for watching.

  1. the Power Play? First off… look at any team with a good one… they pass the puck… FAST. Leafs don't do this even when they get set up. Just a thought on where it can begin mending.
