Um, Josh Giddy basically held uh shut out completely in the second half of this game scoring wise. He was 05 from the field. He just did score two free throws, but that’s really it for Josh Giddy. Other than that, in the fourth quarter of this game, he did score have seven assists, which is good. He was he was act he was active. We He just wasn’t scoring, Pat. And one thing that we have seen from Josh Giddy that we do need is as it stands right now, we need his scoring consistently to keep defenses honest at least until Kobe White comes back or unless a big player steps up. Now Mus did have 20 points in this game, but he was kind of quiet in this in in the fourth quarter of this game as well. How’d you feel about this game overall? Yeah, it felt like a game where the Bulls were out of rhythm. I I actually thought, you know, defensively they still did a pretty pretty good job. Um overall some listen it’s Giannis like I I saw people like losing their mind saying oh you should have done this you got to do this to defend you it’s Jiannis like that there was one play literally where he missed a layup established himself back in bounds grabbed the ball under the rim and just put it back up into the rim like there’s not much you can do about that but I thought the game plan for the most part was pretty good uh defensively trying to slow the Bucks down really only got away from you crazy when uh they were trying to rack up a bunch of points at the end for the NBA Cup. But on the flip side of that, offensively, I thought there was no rhythm. I thought it was completely disjointed. Um I thought that, you know, there were moments where guys kind of got it going. There were moments where Modis got it going and you could cut it back down to five. There were moments when Herder got it going and you could cut it back down to four, but nothing was consistent. Getty couldn’t find his shot the entire game. And I I think the biggest thing was, listen, there were three-point shots there that were open for you to be able to knock down. And the Bulls just couldn’t find a way to knock that three ball down. No matter what, you’re going to have to shoot the three well to beat the Milwaukee Bucks. You got Giannis, you got Miles Turner in the paint. Those are two big time shot blockers. It’s going to make it difficult if you just drive down in the paint and drive into the teeth of that defense the entire time. I thought this was the first game of the season that I could definitively say we really missed Kobe White tonight. That that that is how I felt coming away from this game. Not a And here’s the thing, not a bad game overall. I don’t think that this is, you know, if this is the worst that the Bulls have looked all season, we’re doing okay. Yeah. I mean, it’s just the offense, like I said, definitely looked disjointed. We couldn’t really buy a bucket when we needed it the most. And sometimes we were getting stops, which depending on how you want to look at that, it’s promising. Look, there were times where we were getting stops. We just couldn’t score. When we got those stops and then they came back and scored or we gave up some second chance points, but just to kind of highlight that when you look when you look at how things went in this game, uh the Bulls did lose off second chance points 20 to 11. We won off fast break points. We won off bench points. Uh we had more turnovers than by three. Uh they scored so thus they scored more points off turnovers and they had, you know, we had more fouls than they did as well. But those things, those margins are close. If the Bulls shoot a better percentage from three today, 10 of 33 for only 30%. They’re right in this game, right? And that’s because of the nature of the defense that they did play. But listen, they lost this game. Giannis played like the MVP level player that he’s been playing at all season. And the Bulls, the player that’s been playing at that level for us, and Musellis, he he he didn’t score in the second. I mean, uh, and Josh Giddy, he didn’t score in the second half of this game. So, you know, it is what it is. We know we’re not a complete team. We’re still, you know, we’re still finding our way. we weren’t going to win them all. And you know, sometimes some of these losses like this are good. Like we saw the Bulls really rebound from the last loss. So, we’ll see if they can do it again. Yeah, listen, you got a game coming up versus uh Cleveland and and we know what tomorrow, you know, back-to-back game. Cleveland coming off a back-to-back game. They won their game tonight. Um but it truly to me like I I looked at this game one, I thought how Billy staggered the minutes as well. It felt very much like you were preparing to play the bench a lot more in this game. Um especially when and this was the biggest thing maybe the only thing I didn’t like and I get where they were going but the Isaac Auro on Giannis matchup like that was one to me where yes he’s the best defender yes that is the situation that remember they would put Lonzo ball in those same moments I just don’t think Auror has it for that and Giannis had him in foul trouble the entire game you really were never going to get literally the entire like you never were going to get a solid defense when I feel like that was the focal point of your game plan. You made things tough for him early on in the game, but in the second half of the game, I mean, like it was it was pretty much the Giannis show. He was getting to the free throw line. I think he shot nine of the 11 free throws that they had in the uh in the second half. Crazy. It it was insane. So, like again, I’m not losing my mind over this game. I know some Bulls fans are like, “We knew this was going to happen.” Guess what? There’s a superstar on one of these teams and it ain’t yours. And he played like a superstar tonight. That’s a fact. That’s a fact. Giannis played like the superstar uh player that he is. And you know, this this is a learning experience for the Bulls, man. Mis put up 20, which is good to see for Miselas to be able to do that. Vu and and Giddy didn’t feel like themselves as this game went on. Like it seemed like both those the moments where Vu and Giddy both hit like big shots for the Bulls or whatever else, that never really came in this game. And it’s not going to come in every single game, right? There’s going to be some games where where you just don’t have it and you have to do it as a team. I do like the energy they came out with initially in the second half, but then you know that went went by his wayside. But, you know, again, a lot of the things Pat, I mean, you’ve talked about and this this is why I know we don’t try to focus on it when things are going well cuz people don’t like to hear it, but like some of the things that even in when the Bulls are playing their best, they they hurt the Bulls today. For example, like Trey Jones passing up wide open shots, they hurt the Bulls today. um you know, not moving without the ball, settling for threes, not not finding uh you know, the miss match with with with enough time. Those things all kind of reared their heads in this game and uh you know, it’s things that we even saw in some of the wins. So, we just got to continue going. But Kobe is going to help with some of this. But Kobe’s not coming back for you know, over another week. So, they’re going to have to figure out because you know, we’ll talk about it in the show. Next few games that we have for the Bulls are all real tough. Real tough. Yeah. And and especially because like this is a game where your drive and kick method in theory it works, but they were willing to give you those threes, right? You got to take them. You got to knock them down. They were willing to give it to uh uh Misbellis. They were willing to give it to Nicolus and it felt like none of them really were were shooting those threes. I mean, even the fact that we lost tonight’s game, we shot six less threes than the than the Milwaukee Bucks. Like the Bulls really weren’t chucking the three ball up much at all. They were trying to get themselves established in the paint and get working in the paint. Um, and this is a g this was a game where to me that we know the secret to beat him. Giannis is going to be down low and Turner is going to be down low. You got to knock down that three ball and and today was a day where I thought Kevin Herder was somebody who you were expecting to have a bigger impact from that three-point land and he just listen sometimes the shots ain’t falling. Some games you got to live by the three, die by the three. This is a game where it didn’t work out for the Bulls in that situation. Yeah. And all things kept, it’s like Kevin Herder isn’t isn’t really shooting the ball great this season at all. He’s doing a lot of things to help the Bulls win. So, you you can overlook some of that, but he’s not really shooting. I mean, he and he wasn’t shooting the ball well. 29% from three, huh? 29% from three this year. Yeah. He was 30% from three with with Sacramento before he got traded here. So, like there’s just some concerns there and the Bulls are going to have to work out those concerns. But, you know, IO wasn’t at he had moments of aggression, but you could tell IO had been out for a couple of games. And those things catch over you. That’s the es and flows of the season. These things are going to happen for every team at some point over the course of the season. And remember last season when when Herder got here, end up shooting 37% with the Bulls from the three-point line. I would assume that that’s going to get back. Bulls tried to use the size advantage today and it just, you know, it it kind of hurt them in a different way on the flip side. They they tried to use the size advantage on one side with Modis um going at uh um AJ Green, but you you’re using that advantage to try and get again down into the paint. So, uh to me, this is this is game one verse the Bucks. This is the team you’re probably going to have to worry about the most in the Eastern Conference this year. Um because I think it’s the team you match up the worst with uh them and the team that we’re going to play tomorrow in in Cleveland. And I think those are the two teams that you just two you don’t have to say. And I’ll tell you what, bro. Look, I get what the numbers say. Hey, these numbers lying. Jaylen Smith is bad. Jaylen Smith is bad at basketball. I get it. It’s tough cuz it be like he’ll finish a game with like 12 points, 14 rebounds. You just be like, it do not feel like you impacted the game like that at all. Bro, he be taking some shots that be insane. and some of the passes too. Like Jaylen just, bro, it’s such a mixed bag with Jaylen, man. Like cuz he has some stretches where he looks good and then that’s where like some decent numbers come from, but then when you just look at like things that don’t count in stats, like his rotations off players, him him not rotating out, like those type of things like getting getting caught up by smaller players, which take him completely out of the play. Like those are all things that that that that end up stacking up for him and they end up causing the Bulls some problems, man. But we’re going to continue talking about what this now means for the Bulls in the group stage in the NBA Cup cuz every loss and point differential matters a lot with that as well. First, we do got to get some message from one of our sponsors and that is Gusto. Let’s be real. No one starts a business for the joy of calculating tax withholdings or managing payroll spreadsheets. The Bulls lose. People is not moving off ball. You You get a R a straight Patrick there. There you go. Catch a straight Patrick. Um so with this said, the Bulls won their initial group stage game and had a point differential of 10. Bulls didn’t lose this game by by 16, which kind of messes up the point differential as well as going down to one and one. This actually Pat despite the Bulls having a one-on-one record, this actually puts the Bulls bottom of their group because of the margin in which they lost this game by which is that’s why the point differential stuff matters in this. Um, so basically they have to win their next two cup games is they want a chance to really win this group. How you feeling about that, Pat? Uh listen, it it’s if you if you’re going to have a chance at all to win this group, uh you got to lock in and and it’s a tough group that the Bulls are in here this season. Like it’s not you knew it wasn’t going to be a cakewalk. Um I thought you competed very well in this game, but I I guess that’s the tough part about the cup, right? Cuz this was the Bucks first cup game uh this season. and you know they’re trying to run the score up at the end of the game and you have to make a decision. Do you try to play very tough defense to finish out the game or do you not worry about it and try not to care and just or not not not to care, try not to get hurt or and go too far um and just try to keep up scoring wise. Like I think that’s the part for me where I look at the the cup. I I don’t like the scoring differential. Why? is it it always feels disrespectful when you do it. Like I mean we we were at the end of the game, they’re up 126 110 and they’re chucking up a three-pointer with two seconds to go. You know what I mean? Like that always offsets me a little bit. And then just the fact that I feel like you’re taking too many chances at the end of that game and and you know I’m like all right like Billy Donovan shouldn’t have had his starters in the last minute and a half of that game. Yeah. The game was over. You know what I mean? Like I don’t I don’t like it for that reason, but I get it. And and so um with them dropping in this cup, I think that uh dropping in this cup is wild. Is it? Sounds like you’re drug testing people or drugging them. Or drug. Yeah, drug. You could be drug testing them or drugging them. Either way, that’s a fact. That’s a fact. Just ask Diddy. uh with them uh with with them dropping in the the the the cup race right now, I think that uh it’s going to be very difficult for them to get back in this because this is a Bucks offense that now has the number one spot that scores a lot of points. Yeah. Yeah. They score a lot of points. Now, the defense is ranked towards the bottom of the league. So, you know, they are susceptible. But I I think now with the Bulls losing this game, unless they blow out their next two games in this cup play, that they’re their their their best is probably a wild card. They can hope to try to get to a wild card and we’ll see if they can do that. Um but let me ask you this, Pat. Is this is this something you think the Bulls should be fighting for and competing for is is to try to get in in the cup finals? Uh yeah, I think I think you should you should be fighting and competing for it. I mean like it’s a there will come a time when this matters, when we care about it, right? And and I think there will come a time where there will be a clear correlation between teams that go out there and compete heavily in this and teams that go out and and uh go to the fin. I mean, last year’s cup ended with Bucks versus who did they beat in the cup final? I don’t even remember. Pacers. Right. And you can do that, right? Doesn’t have to be East and West. Yes, it does. Yeah. No, Bucks and Pacers was the was the game to get to the NBA Cup. Um, whoever they end up be I don’t know. They wasn’t the Lakers, I’ll tell you that much. Uh, but to me, like I think with that, like you saw a clear correlation of the teams that were in the NBA Cup were some of the teams that remained standing at the end of the season. There’s kind of that stamp of like there’s a carryover. So for me, I look at this as a, hey, this is your first test. This is your first opportunity to see what it’s like. Is it a playoff atmosphere? No. But is it a little bit more ramped up? Is it a little bit, you know, like like we need you to show up at important game type moments? Like I think you get kind of that feel from it. So seeing the Bulls compete in something like that and if you’re able to have success in something like that, like I think that says more about the team than anything else. Yeah. I mean, listen, you want the the fact of the matter is these cup games count towards the regular season anyway. So, go out there and compete uh you know, regardless of them and try to win all these games and if you can move into the cup and into any type of you know, don’t call it playoffs, but you know, out of the group stage to the knockout rounds, then then good. That’s great. Like the every experience you need for these players to be in games that mean a little bit more, I think, is important for what we’re trying to build here as well. So, we’ll see. I mean, the Bulls have typically responded to adversity. This version of the Bulls team pretty well in the sense that they they realize what they need to do to go in there and be better and they want to be better. And I think they’ll they’ll figure out a way to come out with better injury because listen, the Cavs coming up here. It’s not going to be easy, bro. No, listen. And and what is our Trying to see what our uh NBA Cup schedule is the rest of the way. That’ll make it easy to find, bro. Next one is the Miami Heat. Friday, November 21st. And then uh we’ve got the Hornets on Friday after that on Black Friday. On Black Friday, November 28th and that would be it. That’s it for that that would be it. So you got an opportunity here. Listen and the Hornets the Hornets gave up a 50-point quarter tonight, bro. I know, bro. But then they got the lead down like they got the lead down to four and then still ending up losing by almost 20. It’s so cra. The Miami Heat are a team that can get out get out there and score the basketball as well. And I think that’s, you know, that’s really the reason to bring that up. And the Hornets suck. Like it, bro, they they look like they not a basketball team. Bro, the Hornets is just like it’s a curse on that franchise, bro. I don’t know what it is. Like I we were talking about it on locked on NBA the other day and I was like I told Wes and Matt I was like really go look at all the draft picks that the Hornets not people who were drafted like ahead. Just look at the draft picks that are people that went one or two spots after the Hornets and tell me they couldn’t have built a championship team if they just hit on half of those. You know what it is? And maybe one day it’ll change, but I truly I truly think this until you find that guy. Most of these teams have been the same our entire lives. Like most of the like think about it. As long as we’ve been alive, the Atlanta Hawks have been the exact same basketball team. Like, they have never I mean, they had they had that team in the Joe Johnson era where all five starters made the All-Star team. They were pretty good. They No, it’s it’s not about them being bad. It’s just that they’ve never been a team that you really thought could make a final. That’s fair. I think if you’re if you’re judging off that though, the team that changed the most in that time. Probably the Warriors and the Bucks. The Warriors. But but again, like the Yeah, I guess the Bucks. Yeah, think about it, bro. We were beating up the Bucks for like 20 years and then now the last 10, they’ve been a lot better of a team. Yeah, I guess I would I would throw I would throw the Bucks in that conversation, but like most of these teams like for our entire lives and for most of most of their franchise lives have been very very similar. Celtics have always been the same. Magic feel like they’ve it’s either you suck or you got a generational piece. You know what I mean? Like it’s just weird to me like that I the Clippers have always been the redheaded stepchild that’s never going to win a championship. Guess what they are this year. Exactly. You know what I mean? Like it’s just it’s one of those things I always look at uh that I look at like it don’t make sense that you never figure it out. But it’s like you said, the the Hornets have passed on a Hall of Fame team. Hall of Fame. Yeah. Easily. Like not even not not even and no cap, that’s not even me exaggerating. No hyperboles. Legitimately, they they passed on what would have been one of the best teams in in the NBA. In NBA history, bro. In NBA history. Hey man, we got to keep this thing moving along, man. We do got to talk about the upcoming schedule for the Bulls here as they got a gauntlet as we talked about before. But uh we first we got to tell you guys all about our sponsors over at FanDuel. All [Music] right, Pat, before we get up out of here today, brother, let’s go ahead and look at this upcoming schedule for the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls have the Cleveland Cavaliers coming up tomorrow on Saturday. Uh the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, then the Utah Jazz next Sunday. I’m not too worried about that, Jazz. Jazz getting clapped. Is that game over? Is that game over right now? I think it is. That was ugly. But the next three for sure. And then even after that, after the Utah game, it’s Denver, Portland, Miami, you get you got a tough start. Yeah. So, when you look at these next three games, I went into the that at at the time it was four games. Looking at the Milwaukee Bucks and and the Cavs and the Spurs in Detroit, I wanted the Bulls to at least go 500. If you can go 500 in that and then come out of that, you’ll be at that point eight and four on the season, I think that’s a really good spot to be in. uh considering how tough your schedule is, but what do you what what are you most concerned about over this stretch for the Bulls? Um you got some tough matchups with with the personnel that you have right now. I think your next two game your next three games honestly are incredibly difficult from a big man position. um the Cavaliers and I I get it, you know, we’ve we’ve competed well against the Cavaliers in in most of the matchups versus them, but that that Cavs match up tomorrow. That that’s a kind of essentially what you just played tonight defensively. Anyway, they don’t have Giannis, but you got Donovan Mitchell over there. Um the Spurs with WBY is WMBBY is a freaking alien, bro. He is the alien. Like it is insane uh what he’s doing this season. This might he might win MVP. He might win defensive player of the year. He might win most improved player of the year or like he might clean sweep it. He might clean sweep it. It’s insane what he’s doing this season. Um and then you’ve got Jaylen Duran who uh I believe if I’m not mistaken tonight had a 30 and 11 night. I didn’t even know Like this season he might be the surprise of the season. I didn’t know he could score like that. Yeah. Jaylen Dur I knew he could turn around and dunk on us, but like Jaylen Duran has had like three 30point games this season. Yeah. Jaylen Duran is balling. And you you know one of the things in the NBA that is I don’t care what style of play. I don’t care what era you play in. A point guard and a big man combo is always the backbone of a really good team in the NBA. It doesn’t matter what. If you have a highle point guard and a highle big man playing together that have good chemistry, that is always what’s going to be the backbone of being able to win a lot of games in the NBA. 100%. We got Josh Giddy and and Jaylen Smith. Um, get get Josh Giddy the big man he deserves to play, bro. Get Giddy the big bro. Who can we trade for, bro? Bro, could you imagine we had drafted Walker Kesler, bro? Bro, could you imagine? It gets worse every single time. You imagine? Well, we can sign him. We could sign him for a a crap ton of money this off seasonason. So, there you go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Almost got yourself. Uh but uh but no, I think that’s that’s going to be the Bull’s biggest problem over the next three games. Uh and Utah Jazz sucking. We losing them. I’m pissed. But the the next three games to me like you don’t have an answer for the for the centers on those teams. What what’s your record prediction for them? I probably feel like the Bulls are I I think they go two and two. Um I think that we will win versus the Cavaliers tomorrow. I actually think they can beat the Spurs because the Spurs are while they’re figuring a lot of stuff out and they are playing at a very high level. I think the Bulls defense does a lot versus um a lot of the other guy. There’s nothing you could do versus Wimby, but like I think the Bulls defense can really affect like what a uh Devin Vel or a Stefon Castle or uh Jeremy Shan want to do. You know what I mean? I think our defense does really well for that. WBY’s going to be freaking standing at the free throw line knocking down jumpers all day. So that’s you you got to live with that. It’s GG’s. Um I think the thing about the Spurs too is that what we’ve seen how people have defended Wimbies is they’ve been able to push him out of the paint with with wings and guards. Yeah. So like we’ll see if Aoro P will or Modus can do some of that cuz you can disrupt Wimby with that. You have a chance to win that game. Um but I mean these are these are games that the Bulls can win. They’ll have to compete and fight hard as they have to in every game. But I’ll say this, I I I’m going to say two and two as well just because you know I I I don’t like to predict things. But um I wouldn’t be surprised if they can come out of it three and one. Jazz Spurs and Cavs. I mean I think we can beat or Jazz Spurs and Pistons. We beat the Pistons before. So yeah, but going to Detroit, I I think that’s a little bit different. That’s about to be a little different beast and and they was not thrilled after that loss to us the first time. Very true. So I think and listen, I love I I love the matchup. I hope that we do find a way to beat him. If I would I would rather lose to the Jazz than lose to the Pistons. I feel that. I would ra like I I would rather us beat the Pistons. But if we find a way to go three and one, I mean, listen, you’re you’re in a great spot. It cuz that is a situation where you could go 0 and three just as easily. Absolutely. So, we’ll see what ends up happening there. But, uh, hey man, appreciate y’all for tuning in to showing love. 1. Kevin Huerter has not been a knock down shooter since he’s been in a Bulls uniform. He’s a threat from the outside but he has not knocked down the shots that you expect a “shooter” to make. And most of the shots he has taken have been wide open shots where he doesn’t even have to create off the dribble.

  2. We were just one main scorer in Coby and one main centre in Collins missing in this game. J Smith will need to make a decision on whether or not he wants to lose that nick name of "Sticks" and out some true muscle and mass on to be able to atleast muscle up with Giannis or Turner and extend his game… Or his game time will be shortened. But can't win them all, much to analyse and learn from. On to the next game. No point sookin

  3. Man, I swear I saw the same game in the play in v Miami last season. Belted on the inside so the perimeter defence collapses to help out & they give up the outside. Those paint issues continue
    ….

  4. As a Bucks fan whom is very surprised at the Bucks start to the season, I'm more surprised at the Bulls start!!! I don't see the complaints

  5. All the Bulls need to do is bring in Taco Fall. At 7"7 he has the size to give Gianni's fits. The Bulls front office and coaching staff needs to understand that you build the roster strategically for the playoffs and individual match ups. Taco has the size you can't teach. The Bulls will never make it out of the East unless they solve Giannis.
