Max Kleber, who’s listed as questionable entering tonight’s game against the Hawks in Atlanta, says after shootaround he doesn’t know what tonight will look like for him but he’s ” gonna be ready, just be prepared and be back out with the guys, get back in rhythm and routine.”

  1. For whatever reason, Kleber has always felt like a guy who’s going to have a career resurgence 10/10 type game with us, idk

  2. Everyone likes to clown on Maxi and include him in every trade, but if he can return to form I’d rather have him out there instead of Vando as smallball 5 or at the 4 against doublebigs.

  3. if he can actually still defend and hit some 3s would give this team some floor spacing and another look to throw at teams

  4. Hope he gets to play. Would love to see if he’s still got it before he likely gets shipped out.

  5. I really hope Maxi still has some gas in him. He was a highly switchable big, sneaky shot blocker, and can knock down 3s.

  6. If klieber can sniff what he was in Dallas in their finals run(not even what he was in the years before that) then he is legitimately a difference maker for us

He was their third best player for stretches of that Brunson run. Obviously we can’t expect that but the point is that there’s a good skill set that exists here

  7. If he wasn’t making over 10 ms I’d root for him. I like game but but i want him gone too.

  8. Not a former mavs fan but i lived in Dallas for 4 years so I got to watch a lot of Mavs games. Maxi was one of my favorite players for his defense. Underrated 3 pt shooter as well. My lasting memory of him was in 2019, zingus tingus and powell were getting killed in the pnp by Marcus Morris. Kleber came off the bench and started dogging Randle who proceeded to turn the ball over every time he was pressured. Portis also was getting killed physically at the rim because of his physicality. He was switching on almost anything and taking the harder matchups off Luka which is let him light up the score board.

My only hope for him this year is that we can use him as a mentor to Hayes, who’s much better as a switch big than he is in drop. If he can learn to keep his hands to himself, he’ll be an important part of our future.

  9. “Back with the guys”…dude has not played any real meaningful ball with the Lakers, personally I do not consider him a Laker yet! He has been injured and injured and injured the whole time he has been a Laker! I hope he proves me wrong and he is a straight baller who can spend time OFF THE INJURED LIST, but so far he looks like a walking injury collecting paychecks

  10. It sucks cause he could be an actual asset if he could stay healthy. Another big that can spread the floor.

  11. Luka‘s longest standing treammate btw., knows him better than anyone on the court.

Can provide some much needed size, spacing and shooting.

If he has something left in the tank and can stay healthy, this is some real surprise upside for the team.

  12. He’s washed washed. His expiring is most valuable that him. I really like him but he’s no longer a NBA guy. Very likely he will be back to Europe after this season.

  13. From a Mavs expat, Kleber’s issue has always been his confidence. Dude just needs to shoot when he’s open and not pass up good shots.
