Jaylen Brown is guiding Celtics through brutal reality he knew was coming

  1. It’s not just the loss of JT

We also lost Jrue and Al and Luke and that really hurt our depth.

Our young guys might be good someday as their replacements but it will take more than a season, so this season is definitely going to be a tough one. I hope we don’t rush Tatum back for this, because I don’t think this season is a championship run anyway, with or without a rehabbed Tatum

  2. Just need to make it through the year healthy, have our young guys improve, and hopefully we get lucky in the lottery

  3. Anyone who thought we were doing anything this season is beyond delusional, beyond help

  4. Man I am so bummed out with our performance this season 🙁
Had higher expectations from D White and PP.

  5. The financial decision to extend all the guys simultaneously while also not having contributors on rookie scale deals, has really put the team in the sandbox, unfortunately. If Brad had just been a tad more prudent, and moved either Sam, Jrue or Derrick earlier or even let Sam just walk, plus made a few more picks, wed be in a different situation

in the modern NBA you can’t have 5 guys all making $30-$55 million, it can’t be done and you can’t undo it easily bc the other teams know YOU ARE STUCK and have to sell, so they won’t offer their picks/prospects

in Brad’s defense, Wyc didn’t have Brad in the loop that the ownership group was about to bail. But still, bad financial management

  6. oooooo Jaylen Brown your hamstring hurts and you want to stream video games while the Celtics get a top 3 pick oooooooo

  7. Bro. You guys still have a good enough team to at least be a 6th seed or in the play-in especially in the east.

  8. The Celtics are probably 2-3 years away from “possible” contention. They haven’t shed enough salary and even if JT is back close to full strength next year, you don’t have the money to get another bonafide piece.

So obviously you’re better next year, but still probably a 4-6 seed with Jaylen, Jayson post Achilles, and very little after that.

Pritchard and White are decent rotation players, but they aren’t jrue, Porzingis, or Horford.

  9. It hasn’t even been 18 months since the Celtics won the championship, and it’s almost impossible to comprehend this is where we are at. The team is unrecognizable with no clear path back to contention.

I hope people enjoyed the championship and like 8-10 seasons prior where they were a bonafide good team with borderline championship aspirations, because who knows when we will see that again.
