So, make sure you click that subscribe button if you haven’t already. And let’s dive into this reporting here. And this is coming from a bunch of different sourcing. Mark Kaboli, Chris Hock, um, you know, are the people at the forefront of this reporting here. But um according to this of all these reports that are starting to leak out here today, the Pittsburgh Steelers were very very interested and very aggressive in trying to get a wide receiver in a trade before the NFL trade deadline. And unfortunately, the three receivers that they were reportedly in on, none of them ended up uh coming to fruition. According to these reports, the Steelers were in on Jacobe Meyers, um Rasheed Shahed, and Jaylen Wadd. and they tried their very best to land one of those receivers before the NFL trade deadline and for uh varying reasons they it just didn’t work out in the favor of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Um so according to Mark Capolei, the Steelers offered the Las Vegas Raiders uh both a fourth and a sixth round pick in exchange for Meyers the same exact deal that the Jacksonville Jaguars ended up getting him for. And uh apparently the Raiders gave Jacobe the the final choice. Okay, we got the same offer from two different teams. which team do you want to go to? And Meyers picked the Jacksonville Jaguars. And then according to Chris Hack, uh another reporter here, he claims that the same thing happened with uh Rasheed Shahed of the New Orleans Saints, now a member of the Seattle Seahawks. Apparently, the Steelers offered the fourth and fifth round picks that the Seattle Seahawks ended up giving to New Orleans in exchange for Shahed. And uh apparently again the Saints gave the receiver an opportunity to go to Pittsburgh or to Seattle and he ended up picking the Seattle Seahawks. So the fact that you know Omar Khan and the Steelers missed out on these receivers for pretty much the same exact reason is kind of crazy. Now I I will say the Shahed one makes more sense to me because um you know he’s played under Clint Kubak before. Kubak was the OC in New Orleans last year. Shahed had a pretty darn good season in his in his offense. obviously already knows the u you know the terminology all that stuff. So that one makes sense to me and honestly you know I don’t think Shahed would have really added much to what the Steelers are trying to do offensively. He’s kind of just like a pure deep threat. And if if the Steelers were going to add somebody to the team, I wanted somebody that brought a little bit more of a complimentary skill set to what Calvin Austin the third and Rowan Wilson and DK Metaf bring to the table. um not somebody that is just another kind of undersized deep threat um that the Steelers already have plenty of. Right. So, you know, the Jacobe Myers one is interesting to me though because you know comparing the Steelers and Jacksonville, you know, what are some of the reasons why Meyers would pick the Jaguars over the Steelers? Well, you know, obviously offensive-minded head coach Liam Cohen is is, you know, a pretty darn good uh very innovative young uh modern NFL play designer and you know, he’s doing a lot of creative things uh that he started last year in Tampa and he has implemented there in Jacksonville. I’m sure that excited him. Also, they’ve got a younger, more established long-term option at quarterback. Now, obviously, Jacob’s just on a one-year deal, so that one probably doesn’t have carry as much weight, but I’m sure he kind of thought about, you know, what’s a team that I’d want to spend, you know, maybe the next couple years with. Um, you know, and give that first opportunity to resign with next year. I’m sure, you know, Jacksonville with the with the younger quarterback option might have been a little bit more attractive in that regard. Also, uh he I think that because the Steelers play so much 12 and 13 personnel and they like to get the ball to their tight ends, they like to Aaron Rogers loves getting it to Jaylen Warren um as a checkdown option. Um and DK Metaf is already the established number one here. I think uh Jacobe kind of looked at maybe the more um maybe the more opportunities that he would be able to get in Jacksonville’s offense and said, “You know what? I think that, you know, I’d be a better fit in that offense versus the Steelers where I might get, you know, three or four targets in a game. And, you know, in Jacksonville, I might get six or seven, you know, as a as somebody that I think is a really good fit inside that Liam Cohen scheme. Um, and then also, you know, I think the weather is probably going to play a factor in that decision as well. Myers has played on the East Coast before in New England and you know if he has a choice between going to sunny Florida or Pittsburgh. Um you know I think that you know that probably played a factor in his decision as well. But I got to say man if I if I’m Jacobe Meyers none of those uh kind of factors that probably contributed to his decision would have swayed me enough. Like if I’m if I’m an NFL player and I’m and I’m an older player and I’m trying to win a championship, uh the Pittsburgh Steelers, I think, are better suited to win a championship in the one year that I’m still under contract than the Jacksonville Jaguars. I don’t care if it’s cold, man. Like, and I don’t care necessarily if I’m not going to get more targets in the offense, you know? I’m I’m looking at the Steelers. I think it’s a more talented roster. You’ve obviously got more um you got more stability at the head coaching position in terms of guys that have been there for a long time. Mike Tomlin’s won a Super Bowl. Liam Cohen is just getting started and that’s a first year regime. And you know, if I were Jacobe Myers, I would have picked the Steelers because I think if you want to win, um the Steelers are the team that’s better suited to to to to have playoff success this this year. Now, um you know, maybe he feels differently and he’s perfectly uh you know, within his rights to do that. obviously chose to go to Jacksonville. Um but you know, it’s certainly not the case, guys, that the Pittsburgh Steelers weren’t looking to make a move or that they’re perfectly fine with their wide receiver room. Um, you know, I think that they had their price that they were willing to pay for it, but like these these, you know, the people out there, including myself, honestly, where I’ve been on the show saying the Steelers like where they are at the wide receiver position, it’s like, well, if they really felt that way, why were they, you know, working the phones, being extremely aggressive to try and get these receivers? Um, it’s it’s pretty clear to me that the Pittsburgh Steelers felt like adding another complimentary wide receiver piece could have helped their chances of winning a Super Bowl this year and they were willing to give up multiple draft picks to be able to get these players. Uh, they offered multiple picks for all three of the receivers that they were um targeting. And the reason why I haven’t talked about Jaylen Waddle yet is because, you know, obviously he was he was definitely the biggest name that they tried to pull off a trade for at the at the buzzer. And unfortunately, it sounded to me in Kaboli’s report that the interim GM there in Miami got cold feet. According to Kaboli, the Steelers offered multiple draft picks for Jaylen Warren. My guess is they probably offered a first round pick and another kind of mid-round draft pick in exchange for Wadd. Um, and by the way, that’s a I that’s a deal that I I would have thought was a pretty good deal, especially if you feel like Aaron Rogers is coming back for another season. If you would have given up a first and then a mid-round pick for Jaylen Wadd, you’re getting an electric playmaker and a really complimentary uh skill set to DK Metaf and you could create one of the better wide receiver duos here in Pittsburgh for the next half decade because not only is he under contract this year, but he’s under contract for another four years after this year. So to get a guy like that um you know as your essentially your number two receiver to pair with DK Medaf not only would have really skyrocketed you know the status of this wide receiver room here in Pittsburgh for this season but it would have set a really great foundation for that receiver room for the next half decade where you really don’t have to think about your wide receiver duo um for the next five seasons which would have been great but obviously you know for different reasons for it sounds like in Miami’s case the the Steelers felt like they were getting really close to a deal and they kind of got cold feet at the last second. Um, you know, kind and sometimes that’s the way things work with interim GMs. They don’t want to they don’t they don’t want to screw up. And then in terms of Vegas and uh New Orleans trying to get Meyers or Shahed, sounds like they, you know, they were right right there in the running and the players decided to go elsewhere. And, you know, unfortunately that’s just the way the cookie crumbled uh for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But certainly my takeaway from all of this reporting that we are getting today that the Pittsburgh Steelers were absolutely in on getting another wide receiver and you know they were trying to be aggressive to be able to get this offense in a position and set this offense up for success down the stretch. And obviously with them not being able to land any of those receivers, you’re going to have to make do with what you have. And um you know you know it it’s certainly it’s certainly not ideal in my opinion that you don’t have that big body route runner type that Jacobe Meyers would have provided. Um you know because you got a guy in DK Medav who’s really good at what he does right and he commands respect from a defense. You know he gets double teamed a lot. You know when they don’t double team him they shade safety help coverage over to him because he’s so big. He’s so fast. So dangerous as a vertical threat. if you leave him one-on-one and he’s also so dangerous as a yak threat as well. And I honestly think that might be his number one trait that is so so good. Um is that when he gets ahead of steam, you are not stopping him. And defenses really have to respect him as a number one receiving threat in that way. Uh but then outside of him, you got Calvin Austin, you got Roman Wilson, two undersized guys. And you know, I think Roman’s a good player. You guys know if you’ve been watching the channel for a while, you know I I love Roman Wilson as a player or Calvin Austin, I should say, in terms of his ability to get open versus man coverage. He’s really tough um to get hands-on because he’s so quick. Uh even against press coverage, he can just run around a guy, you know, uh he led the team in receiving last week. He’s he’s had some really good moments this year. He really has. And he’s truly been this team’s number two receiver. But in an offense that spreads the ball around as much as it as it does, you know, Calvin doesn’t necessarily have the production of a quote unquote legit wide receiver, too. So, even though I think Calvin is capable of of of being that presence, it still would have been really nice uh to have a guy that’s also a route runner, but can be a little bit more physical in his routes compared to Calvin. also would have been nice in this offense that plays a lot of 12 personnel to have a bigger receiver um as well uh that can run block because Calvin Austin, as much as he tries, and I how much I commend him for trying in the run blocking game, he’s just not big enough and strong enough to be able to hold up uh in run blocking. So, it would have been really nice, guys, to add that big presence. And it it seems pretty apparent that the Steelers were were were trying to be very aggressive to get that done. It’s just, you know, the three players that they really pursued for varying reasons, it just didn’t work out, unfortunately. And now we go into the second half of the season where you got DK Metaf, got Calvin Austin the third. My guess is they’ll continue to use these heavy personnel packages, use a lot of tight ends, get the ball to Jaylen Warren, uh, kind of continue on with the path that they have kind of set this season and, um, maybe Roman Wilson steps up as a legit number three receiver down the stretch. He’s certainly shown some good things over the last month and who knows maybe MVS earns his spot on the active roster and he starts playing really well and he earns a spot in the rotation and he’s kind of like their version of Rasheed Shahed you know because last year um when Shahed got hurt in New Orleans, guess who replaced his role in that offense and it was MVS and we’ve shown the stats on the show a bunch of times in studio um that like over the eight games that he played in New Orleans he was setting a pace where if he would have played for the entire season, he would have had over 800 yards. You know, he would have had nine touchdowns. Like, he was one of the one of the better actually deep threats in the game when he was playing in New Orleans last year. Um, and now that he’s recombining with Aaron Rogers, who he obviously has a lot of chemistry with, you know, I do think that there is some hope that MVS can can be a contributor down the stretch for this team at wide receiver. It’s just, you know, it would have been really nice to add that big body route runner that with tough hands, you know, which Jacobe Myers would have brought to this team, but obviously he feels like he he wanted to go to Jacksonville instead. And um that’s a bummer if you’re a Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Now, I’m going to finish up today’s show by talking about the injury reports that we got today for Steelers and Chargers. Um the big one is that Isaac Samalo will be out this week with that pec injury. Also, Jabril Peppers, Cole Hulkcom, and Scotty Miller will all be out this week uh yet again with their respective injuries. But the reason why the Seamalo injuries big guys is because you have to put Spencer Anderson at left guard. And not only is Anderson a pretty big downgrade in my opinion at left guard, he allowed a number of pressures when he had to come in for Seamalo in the second half of the Colts game when he had to go up against Devoris Buckner. um you know he he didn’t play great and you know Seamalo has been a really good presence there over the last several weeks when he’s been in and losing him you know not only puts Anderson a downgrade at left guard but also what do you do in the jumbo personnel packages you know do you put Ryan Mcllum out there do you put Andrew Pete out there do you even run them at all those are going to be very interesting questions to to see what the answers will be from Arthur Smith this weekend because you know since week before those jumbo personnel looks have really been the bread and butter of the Steelers offense. You know, running the ball with Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell behind, you know, that essentially sevenman offensive line when you when you include Darnell Washington has really been the competitive edge that the Pittsburgh Steelers have had on early downs in particular and has really kickstarted their offense. And you guys remember what it was like in the first three weeks, right, when they weren’t running those jumbo personnel packages, teams were just living in two high safety shells. um the Steelers couldn’t run the football even with teams playing too high safeties and because of the two high shells Aaron Rogers would just have to dump it off and throw quickly and you know kind of play that brand of football and I’m starting to think that we we’re going to have to see that brand of football again while say Amalo’s out. So, you know, certainly the Steelers have won football games playing that brand of football in the past, but um you know, obviously I think that that’s going to limit the amount of times Aaron Rogers can throw the ball down the field because one of the great benefits of the jumbo personnel package in my opinion is that it’s forced teams to play heavier and play more base, but it’s also forced them to play with more one high safety coverages, which has opened up some of the deep passing game from Aaron Rodgers. And with all the deep passes we saw versus Cincinnati and some of these some of these teams that we have seen uh since they started going to these jumbo personnel packages, uh it’s really opened up the the passing game and it’s really been uh something that’s been working really well. Um so I’m not sure if we’re going to see that this week. I think it’s going to be a lot of short passing again. I think it’s going to be a lot of checkdowns to Jaylen Warren and screens and all this different stuff cuz you know the Chargers might be able to live in those two high safety shells especially if they’re not playing with the jumbo personnel packages that we’re used to seeing from this Steelers offense. So it’ll be interesting to see what happens there. Also worth noting Cory Trice Jr. is questionable in this game. Um, now he did not practice all week, so I I wouldn’t get my hopes up that they’re going to take him off of IR and put him back on the active roster this week, but the fact that he’s questionable tells us that his whatever injury he’s dealing with, it’s not particularly serious. And he should be coming off of IR here pretty darn soon. His 21-day practice window is is coming to a close here, I think, next week. So, they’re going to have to make a decision on him coming up here pretty soon. Then the big news uh in LA when it comes to uh personnel is Trevor Penning, the offensive lineman that they just traded for is not expected to start at tackle. Okay. And you know, this was a question that was, you know, that I had when, you know, this was a trade that happened right at the buzzer where the Chargers trade for Trevor Penning from the New Orleans Saints. Uh he’s played tackle in the past, but he’s played guard for the Saints this year. And uh it sounds like he’s going to play guard for Los Angeles because uh Jim Arba, the head coach there for the Chargers, says that Austin Decklas and Trey Pipkins are going to be the starters at tackle for the Chargers this weekend. Uh, and you know, the Pittsburgh Steelers edge rushers, Alex Heismith, who was the AFC defensive player of the week last week, and TJ Watt, who obviously is a $41 million per season man, both played great last week against the Colts. And it was a really tough outing for uh the two starting tackles for the Indianapolis Colts last week. Not only did Bernard Raymond have a really tough week against Alex Heismith, but Braden Smith, who’s also a pretty darn good right tackle, really struggle against Watt, and now you’re going up against two backups uh this week. You know, I got to think that Heismith and Watt are going to be set up for success once we get to this game on Sunday night. So, really excited to see what that’s going to do. I certainly think that the pass rush is going to be getting to Justin Herbert in this football game, and I think that that’s going to be the difference. Uh I I already predicted that I think the Steelers are going to win this game 2717 this week. That was my official score prediction on our preview. So if you haven’t checked out our preview, make sure you check that out uh for our extensive look inside this matchup. But certainly expect this defense to, you know, continue on the path that they have uh kind of set last week against the Indianapolis Colts. It was an awesome performance this week. I see no reason why the pass rush shouldn’t, you know, pick up where they left off and for this defense to pick up where it left off at AAR Stadium last Sunday. So, really excited for this weekend, man. Really do appreciate you guys stopping by here this evening. Almost a 20 minute at home video. So, I appreciate you guys sitting there uh listening to my ranting here. But, uh we’ll have another uh pair of videos coming out tomorrow. We’ll probably have a video come out Sunday morning as well, getting you guys ready for Sunday Night Football against the Chargers. So greatly appreciate all of your guys’ support. I’ll see you guys next time.

Mark Kaboly on Steelers trade deadline efforts:
“The Steelers believed they were close to acquiring Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle on deadline day. They offered multiple draft picks. And the interim GM might have gotten cold feet.”
“The Steelers offered the Raiders 4th and 6th round picks just like the Jaguars. The Raiders let Meyers pick where he wanted to go.”

Is location buddy would you rather live in Florida or Pittsburgh would you rather live in Seattle all about the weather the weather
Seattle beat the Steelers
Makes me wonder if QB is a round 1 pick next year.
If the Steelers were willing to pay that much for receiver why wouldn’t they get btj or even aj brown .Also don’t they want to draft a qb next year even if Rodger’s comes back .maybe they think there won’t as many gettable QBs next year and want to elevate the receiver room maybe wr next year draft ?
Try to be shorter and more to the point. You are often long winded.
How about never giving up Pickens
Offensive players don't want to play in this offense..no innovation, running slow plodding tight ends…wtf would you trade George Pickens without another wide receiver in place, why would you not draft a receiver??? This is 2 years in a row that Omar did the same shiii…trading away a wr without a replacement..that's just stupid…what would the offense look like with George??? Yet they are always signing injured washed up defensive players??? Mike always looks at things like a defensive guy…he never wants to be explosive on offense..they drafted a slow azz running back 4.57 fourty time..slow azz 10 yard split but these clowns said he fit the scheme??? Instead of drafting the fastest, most talented back in a deep running back class…just stupid..drafting JPJ when Christian Gonzalez was there, passing on Quinyon Mitchell to draft Fatanu..he missed the while rookie year..they could have had their corner backs set..JPJ is not a number 1 corner he is a number 2…the Offensive line is average they have to add a 6th lineman and a tight end in order to block because their starting 5 are average..that's a gimmick that no other team is running..just clowns stuff
You’re good man. Best
U never mention mvs
I don't believe it
Well now I hope shaheed and meyers do absolutely nothing
Obviously he wanted to stay where it's warm
Here's my thing about the whole trade target thing. If your really wanting to bring someone in for wr why wait till the deadline where you have more competition to pull a trade off. They make that phone call a month earlier and offer the same thing the deal probably gets done. Unless it's on the other team holding out to see what they can get. Not only that why wouldn't you get someone earlier than week 9. You get them at week 5 or 6 you get 3 or 4 more games out of them. Just food for thought
DK is mid ASF
One question I just can’t seem to understand. Why did we draft a decent quarterback in college to never play him but yet we want to look for another quarterback in this coming draft it doesn’t make any sense Will Howard has not even hit the field yet and we’re already wanting to look for another quarterback. I just don’t get it
Thank you Captain Obvious on your amazing insight. This weekend will be a lot of short passes and outside runs. Really ?
If I’m Myers, I don’t want to pay income tax.
We just need to play steelers football like steelers usually play defense good turnovers on special teams again and defense takeaways offense get going on the ground and let Roger's air it out to dk and get our tight ends in the game
Major injuries wat is so Major
Washington did fantastic why not get him the ball more
Any thoughts about Kyler Murray? Too fragile?
They should’ve made a trade !!!
It's old news…They didn't want to be here and peeps whining that we didn't make a move. When will u trust the Team doing the best they can. We need to move on and focus on who we have got, opponents ahead, to support them.
Thank you for all you do
