That would be a home run in just about any park. Backto backto back the Mets to take the lead in the third. Well, right now Nick Ael has not made enough good pitches against a team that’s struggled offensively, but is a good team. And he just tomahawks the top of this zone. And this one, he can jog. First one, he did the same thing on a change up, but had a single. And this hitter friendly park is playing really small right now since those three straight home runs. His first home run this season with more than one runner on base. His second career grand slam. Sodto’s 36th home run of the year. And it’s 6-3 New York. It knocks Charlie Morton out of the box and gives the Mets a three-run lead. One out in the inning. The infield halfway at second and short. Sodto flies one out to center pretty deep. Back goes Young to the warning track at the wall. It’s out of here. Juan Sodto with a new careerhigh 42 home runs. A threerun shot and the Mets lead it 8-4. And he bloops one shallow center. Abrams can’t get their base hit. Siri around third. He’s going to try to score. Hassle throws cut off and the Mets have tied it. Juan Sodto dumps a single into center field. The drive in Siri with a tying run. It’s three to three. First, it’s an O2 pitch. He catches it right off the handle and dumps it into center field. Siri reads it well, goes back, but then fires. Watch the spin on this ball as it works away from Hassel. That made it difficult for him to get anything on the throw. And Siri, you see, just has brilliant speed. New York Mets outfielder Juan Soto won the Silver Slugger Award for the third season in a row with his third different team, having taken home the honors with the New York Yankees in 2024 and the San Diego Padres in 2023. Soto becomes only the second player in MLB history to achieve the feat, joining Mike Hampton in 1999-2001.
