The Jets trade Quinnen Williams to the COWBOYS 😱 ‘HELL OF A DEAL!’ – Marcus Spears | SportsCenter

And I’m I’m understanding we have some more movement. Uh what can you tell us? Another trade. Marcus is going to like this one, Jay. Uh the Jets trading defensive tackle Quinnon Williams to the Cowboys. Uh this just came across. Adam Shftter reporting it uh for us. A first round pick. It sounds like from what I’ve been told, first round pick uh headed to the Jets in exchange for Quinnon Williams. So, job, excuse me, Cowboys beefing up that defensive line in addition to the trade they made earlier today for Logan Wilson. Marcus, you want to um voice that facial expression that you have? What’s your reaction to this? [Laughter] He He said something and he did it, y’all. He said it and he did it. Listen, I think this is huge for the Dallas Cowboys. Mike T has been on shows with me when I’ve talked about how important interior pressure is in the NFL now. They help bolster their pass rush, but they also get a guy that plays the run very well. And people probably scratching their head, well, they got Kenny Clark. Kenny Clark was more to solidify the run game. Quinnon is going to be both. And we’ve seen him play at the highest level as one of the defensive tackles in this league. The Jets are obviously wholesaling and they trying to break this thing down to the foundation and rebuild. So, why not the Dallas Cowboys benefit from that? I think this is a hell of a deal for the Dallas Cowboys to get a impact player right now. And what I was just saying about 20 seconds ago, this is absolutely a step in the right direction. So, kudos to Jerry. Like, I’m hard as hell on Jerry. Actually, last night, he probably ain’t even want to talk to me because I’ve been very hard on him about not making moves like this. This is what I’ve been talking about for a long time. I’m extremely happy that Quinnon Williams will be a Dallas Cowboy and I’m extremely confident that he will help this team in the immediiacy in which Jerry alluded to when he was talking just now. Mhm. Mike, I’ve seen anybody do this in a long No, I know. That was pretty good. Oh, he hit the full thing going. Yeah, I was h that’s my happiness dance. Look, this is fascinating on really both sides. First of all, on the Dow side, I totally agree with Swagu. was a have to have after what happened losing to Jacobe Brassette and how do you let Jaylen Phillips go in your division to you know the Philadelphia Eagles when you need a pass rush I thought maybe it would have been Bradley Chub Quillin Williams is an outstanding player now you pair him as Swagoo mentioned with Kenny Clark you’re much better up front that’s a good foundation for your defense and I think what’s really obvious now with the Jets guys is it’s one thing to have a bad season it’s another thing not to have the ability to get a quarterback and if they wind up there’s all these other teams be it the Saints the Titans, the Raiders, let’s say they had a bad season and had the fourth pick in the draft or the fifth and the Titans are sitting there with the first pick and they of course have Cam Ward. Now with five first round picks over two years, it is absolutely within, you know, their realm of like what they’re trying to get done. Hey, we’re going to get a quarterback in this year’s draft because we have enough ammunition now to trade up if we don’t wind up with the first pick themselves. Mr. Spears, last word goes to you. Yeah, Mike T, you you’ve been you’ve been in that organization and I think I think it’s phenomenal what the Jets are doing because the Jets to me were in the worst place a football team could be. They were in the gray area. They weren’t one player away. They weren’t one guy away from changing the trajectory of their program. I like breaking it down to the foundation. Now, the fans don’t like it and they not going to be happy about it, but this is a step in the right direction, I believe, for the New York Jets. Now, it’s about getting these next things right. But ultimately, you’ve comprised yourself with a lot of draft capital and a lot of flexibility and movement. And that’s the only way to get better in this league now if you are this bad of a football team. All right. Appreciate you for now. Christine Williams and Jay Harris back on Sports Center. Uh the countdown to the NFL trade trade deadline continues. It’s 400 p. p.m. Eastern. We’ve seen a flurry of moves uh since this morning and and in the last few minutes. Breaking news here on Sports Center from Adam Sheper. Cowboys getting defensive tackle Quinnon Williams in a trade with the Jets. Defense has been an issue in Dallas since trading Micah Parsons. Jerry Jones attempting to address those concerns today by adding Williams and linebacker Logan Wilson from the Cincinnati Bengals. All right, everyone has been refreshing their social media every few seconds to see what’s going on. You see, traded, traded, traded, traded. Breaking news, traded. Let’s talk about it more with NFL insider Dan Graziano who’s back with us. Dan, g give us some players whose names have been mentioned in trade talks and tell us what you’re hearing. Yeah, I I let’s see where do we want to start? Let’s start with Trey Hendrickson of the Bengals. He’s the edge rusher everybody’s been trying to get uh really since the off season when he was having that contract dispute with Cincinnati. The Bengals continuing as of this morning to tell teams they weren’t interested in trading Trey Hendrickson. Obviously, we have an hour and 43 minutes to go here, so we’ll see if their stance changes or if someone’s willing to give them uh enough to to change their minds, quite frankly. Uh Bree Hall, running back for the Jets. This is a player that uh people have been eyeing since the offseason as a potential trade target. The Jets have traded their two best defensive players already today. So nothing’s out of the question. What we had been hearing over the past week or so on Bree Hall is that the Jets did not want to trade him and instead were looking at the possibility of signing him long term. Again, hour 43 minutes. We’ll see uh what happens. The Saints traded a wide receiver, Rasheed Shahid, to Seattle short time ago. Chris Olive is another wide receiver that they’ve been getting calls on. He’s signed through 2026. That’ll be his fifth year option season. The Saints have told interested teams that they are not interested in trading Chris Olive. They see him as a part of their long-term future and uh they intend to sign him long term. So again, we’ll see if somebody can offer them enough to convince them otherwise. And another Saint running back, Alvin Chimera. He has made it publicly clear that he does not want to be traded. Uh even though at his age, he doesn’t seem like he’s part of the Saints long-term plans. Uh, I think unless they get blown away with an offer, the Saints plan to honor his request to not be traded. Uh, so I don’t know that Alvin Camaro will be on the move absent a significant trade offer from another team. Some of these prices, Jay, are pretty high for guys like Sauce Gardner and Quinn and Williams. Uh, but uh, you know, teams have to be willing to move on and so far teams like the Bengals and the Saints have been a little more conservative. Dan Graziano’s potential players on the move. We will check back with you a little later, my friend. Thank you so much. All right, back on Sports Center. The countdown clock to the NFL trade deadline continues ticking down just over an hour and a half until the NFL trade deadline. We’ve had some moves since we’ve been on the air. That’s Marcus Spears reaction to the Cowboys getting defensive tackle Quinnon Williams in a trade with the Jets. I’m just I’m just gonna let it speak for itself. I’m not even gonna talk over it. That’s I will never get over that. I know, right? All right, Christine, the countdown to the NFL trade deadline at 4:00 p.m. Eastern continues. You see how much time is left? We have seen a flurry of moves during this show alone. Breaking news from our Adam Shfter, the Cowboys acquiring defensive tackle Quinnon Williams in a trade with the Jets. Defense has been an issue in Dallas since trading Michael Parsons. Jerry Jones attempting to address those concerns today by adding Williams and linebacker Logan Wilson from the Bengals. Now, defense has has been a hot topic in Dallas all season. Uh, as you can see, they’re trying to address that. These are the moves that the Cowboys have made today. They started the day with Logan Wilson from the Bengals before Quinnon Williams from the Jets for a pair of picks. Let’s talk about it. Back with us, NFL analysts Marcus Spears and Mike Tannon. Marcus, we’re coming at you first. Jerry Jones taking big swings today. How much do these moves, in your opinion, raise the Cowboys ceiling this season? It raises their ceiling. I I don’t know about this season, Jay. Um, I think they’re definitely going to be better on their unit. Look, this game is still about players. Mike T knows that. That’s why people spend money. That’s why people spend so much time trying to figure out who they going to draft and who you can get free agency wise. And one of my gripes with Dallas over the last few years is that they haven’t supplemented how well they’ve actually done in drafting players. They’ve been one of the best franchises in drafting and developing talent, but the free agency supplementation is what has shown itself to be one of those reasons you have a chance to win championships over the last few years. So, I love the Quinnon Williams pickup. I like I like the fact that Logan Wilson is coming in as well. I think he’s a good linebacker that’s going to increase the um the the way that that unit plays as well. But I also just went on Instagram Jay and and Mike T and I said u why not we just go nuclear here in Dallas and go get Trey Hendrickson too if we can pull it off. And that’ll really make my day. Y’all y’all can have me on the show till midnight if we go get Trey Hendrickson today. Have Have you figured out your happy dance if that happens? Uh, no. That’s going to require full body shots. That won’t happen until I’m in studio somewhere. That would be interesting. Um, so with that in mind, it would be with that in mind, sir. Mike, Mr. Mike T, what what other moves do you want to do you want to see Dallas make before 4 p.m.? You know, Jay, if Trey Hendrickson is like the main course, I have like a little bit of an appetizer. We saw them address, you know, all of the levels of their defense. Logan Wilson at linebacker, Quinn Williams at defensive line. How about a corner maybe an Alante Taylor, good corner from the Saints. Saints are obviously at a rebuild. Yeah. And then Reek Woolen. Now, I don’t think Seattle is selling right now, but Reek Woolen’s been beaten out. They have great depth uh in that Seattle secondary. So, we know Dallas is strong at all three levels of their defense swag. So, to me, if they could add a corner to go along with Quinnon Williams and Logan Wilson, that’s good work in a couple days. Jan Christine with you on Sports Center. And look at this. 1 hour 3 minutes and just about 30 seconds until that NFL trade deadline at 400 pm Eastern. Bree Hall tweeting ellipsies maybe alluding to something happening with him sometime soon. Again, just over an hour and 30 minutes until they can actually make a move. But nothing but breaking news here on Sports Center today. Ahead of the NFL trade deadline, the Cowboys are addressing their struggling defense by acquiring tackle Quinnon Williams in a trade with the Jets. That after getting linebacker Logan Wilson from the Bengals this morning. Another Jet on the move. Uh the division leading Colts leaning into the hard start. They trade for Jets cornerback S Gardner signing a 4year 12120 million uh deal this offseason with New York, but he’s now with the Colts that ranks near the bottom of the league in pass defense. So he will help them out. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music]

  1. Q willams sucks the bozack trust me . He will ball out for you this year thanhe will opt out or hold out next season u will pay him a large sum of money and he will notvdo a dam thing for them

  2. Jets came up today with a lot of first a capable wr, kept Hall and Wilson who they'll dearly need for whatever qb they need. As a bears fan i understand their qb woes. We finally got it right. They might've too now

  3. I’ve always loved this guy after seeing him on draft night. people joke about the Cowboys but just being away from the dumpster Fire of the Jets will be a solid upgrade for him so I’m happy for him.

  4. They didn’t get him when he came out of Alabama, but now they got him! The entire defense will be better! The inside pressure is going to make all others look better! The qbs they face won’t have near the time, they have been having! The dbs don’t cover as long, the lbs can look at runners quicker, etc! Now they just need to learn to tackle! Blocking and tackling sucks!

  5. Cowboys basically traded Micah Parsons for Kenny Clark, Logan Wilson & Quinnen Williams?
Quinnen Williams is definitely the #1 or #2 DT this season, but they could have gotten the young hungry Sauce Gardner too in a combo deal for future draft picks, money & players.. cause the Cowboys secondary is 🔥🔥🗑️🗑️

That tells you that the Colts are all in & the Cowboys NEVER all in !!!

  6. Cowboy since Capt America since The original 88 Drew Pearson …I was 10 when they defeated Miami 24-3 SB VI. Our 1st SB Ring.

I was driving home with my wife and when Adam Schefter reported the NY- Dallas trade today

I screamed so loud that she said I scared her.

Best trade in 8 years…aka NO MORE RUNNING UP THE GUT ON US.

I’d rather have Williams than Micah…Real Talk

  7. The Cowboys should see how the season plays out keep there draft picks trade Prescott or cut his pay big time and rebuild with there picks the 2025 season is over already they wont make playoffs and even if they do its1 and done there team is average at best they need all the picks to rebuild they cant win it all or even come close

  8. 8:40 no they haven’t Marcus stop lying. They’re terrible at drafting. It’s easy to hit a home run every now and again even with your eyes closed with a bunch of talent on the board if they were good at drafting and developing, it wouldn’t be going through this right now that’s why they have a bunch of guys that ain’t playing
