MAJOR Broncos Rumors After Week 10 Win: Sign Odell Beckham Jr? Can Bo Nix Fix His Problems?

[Music] I believe yesterday’s 10 to7 win on Thursday Night Football can be boiled down into two separate questions for the Denver Broncos. The first one being, is it time to finally sign a wide receiver? And can Bone Knicks fix his issues? Welcome in Broncos country to the Broncos breakdown by Chat Sports. My name is Moose. Now, that’s not to say that there aren’t other problems because Shawn Peyton’s play calling at times is definitely questionable. There’s no doubt about that. But I feel like those are the two major questions right now going into this Chiefs game that I would like to see solved, at least for my opinion. By the way, I just want to say thank you to all the fans that showed support. We gained over 400 subscribers against the Raiders, which is awesome. We need 527 more loyal Broncos fans to hit 48K, which is a crazy number to hit. So, do me a favor. If you love fresh, entertaining, engaging Denver Broncos content, hit that sub button today. Let’s start with this. Should the Broncos add a wide receiver? It’s a very blanket question. It should basically just be a yes or a no. And if you’re in the camp of no, maybe you want to sign a wide, excuse me, a tight end. If you’re in the camp of yes, you’re like me and you think there needs to be another piece here. Now, why is that the case? Well, I think everybody saw yesterday that Bo Nicks is really trying to feed Troy Franklin. I have no idea why he doesn’t throw to Courtland Sutton more often. he is your number one wide receiver. But yesterday, Franklin was clearly the target that Bo Knicks was trying to feed. And uh I’ve got bad news for you. Going back since the beginning of last year when Franklin was a rookie and Bo was a rookie, they’ve connected on two of 24 targets on 30 plus yards downfield. So every time that Bo tries to throw the ball to Troy past 30 yards, they’ve completed two out of 24. That is 8.3%. By the way, I looked this stat up. It is dead last among qualifying quarterback and wide receiver duos since the beginning of last year. Let that sink in for a second. Do you remember when I said that Marvin Mims was going to be missed? You got to get the ball in his hand. He is maybe not the greatest deep threat in the world, but he’s the best one on this team. There’s no doubt about that. So when I look now at the current state of the Denver Broncos wide receiver room, there is talent here. There’s speed here. There’s aggressiveness here. There’s also a drop problem. I mean, just take a look. Four drops from Courtland Sutton, three from Franklin, two from Mims, three from Ingram. If you add this up real quick, that’s 12 drops between just these four players alone. And I could go through another handful of players that have dropped passes. So 12 drops between your four pass catchers here that are absolute studs, at least that’s what we were told, is unacceptable. And it’s clear that the connection between Bo and the wide receivers just isn’t there right now. Something isn’t clicking. And if you disagree with that statement, I’m not entirely sure what game you’re watching because yeah, that doesn’t mean it’s any one specific person’s fault. It’s a cohesive unit. It is a welloiled machine that has to operate on all cylinders. Bo and his wide receivers clearly aren’t clicking the way they should as it is now week 10 of the NFL. And very briefly, I just want to at least make you aware that there is a comparison to another team that you have in the 2025 season. Look at how close these numbers are. Statistically speaking, the only thing that the Broncos have advant a severe advantage in this team is the running yards per game, which they, you know, 17 more rushing yards per game. Outside of that and the record, it’s almost the same team. Identical. Who’s that team? The Arizona Cardinals, who have benched Kyler Murray, starting Jacobe Brassette, have lost a multitude of running backs on that team and are at the very bottom of their division at three and five. Again, the Broncos defense laps every team in the NFL. There’s no question about it. But this is exactly why this graphic right here is exactly why myself and other Broncos fans out there wanted to make a trade for another big-time wide receiver. Not just because of the name, but because of the talent that they display. Jaylen Wadd was available. The Broncos made calls about Jaylen Wadd. And I get it. A first round pick plus. You probably don’t want to give up the plus. Could you have gotten away with giving up a first round pick? Absolutely. But the more and more I look at it, the more and more I’m like, man, I really wish we would have been aggressive. I do because now the only opportunity to add another pass catcher, another weapon is through free agency. You can’t do anything in the trade deadline. It’s over. You’re done. You cannot do anything now until the end of the season. Or you can just sign somebody, right? You can sign a player. So, who are the players right now that are the best available wide receivers that you could possibly get? It’s Slim Pickins. There might be some talent here from Deontay Johnson, but he’s a locker room cancer. Nelson Agalar, 32 years old, not entirely sure that he was even great when he was back in his early 20s, mid20s. DJ Chark, eh, the only one that’s possibly intriguing to me is Odell Beckham Jr. And the reason I say that is because while Odell is not going to be the same player that he once was when he played for the Giants or even the Browns, we have seen him join teams and command respect from opposing teams corners. So even though Odell might not be the player that goes out and gets you five to six receptions per game, he might be two to three receptions a game, but he will absolutely command the attention of a nickel of a outside corner. It’s another body to allow Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin, and Courtland Sutton to find more openings because look, last year in 2024, he only had nine receptions. Okay, fine. 2023, 35 receptions. I’m not expecting Odell Beckham Jr. to go out there and get you a multitude of receptions, touchdowns, yards, but I do know the Denver Broncos are looking for wide receivers. One, they called about Jaylen Wadd, and two, they worked out Jaylen Virgil. Y’all remember Jaylen Virgil, don’t you? Now, it didn’t work out. They brought him in for a workout. It didn’t pan out. He ended up signing with the Buffalo Bills. The Broncos are looking for a wide receiver. If you’re making calls about Jaylen Wadd and you’re working out uh wide receivers that are free agents, doesn’t that tell you something? Doesn’t that tell you something? It tells me something. It tells me that George and Shawn Payeyton know they need another weapon. They just didn’t want to pay for one. They didn’t want to go out and pay all that money to get Jaylen Wadd or that draft capital to get Jaylen Wadd. And I understand why you don’t make the move, but now you have to start looking at the games ahead in your schedule. You have to look at last night’s performance and you have to say from now until the end of the season, when on earth are we going to make a move that at least buys us some security because right now there doesn’t seem to be a lot. The wide receivers are struggling to get open. They have a drop problem and Bo Nicks is way too inconsistent to take command of the offense. So, what do you have to do? You got to add somebody. I would sign OBJ. Out of the list that I just gave you, I would sign OBJ. He won’t break the bank. He’s available after week 12. So, you could sign him during your by-week. Move him into the offense. Integrate him quickly for a week and then just put him in uh on a multitude of subpackage plays. I’m typing my S for sign. Let me know in the comment section down below. Now, coming up next, can Bon Knicks fix his inconsistency? That’s the second question that we have to start asking ourselves. And we’re going to break it down and talk a little bit about it. But first, I got to tell you about my friends over at Prize Picks. You know, the weather might be changing, but the feeling of being right never gets old. I found this to be absolutely hysterical. By the way, before we talk about Bon Knicks uh a little bit more in depth, somebody put this up to some some very tried and trueue Boicks diehard fanboy. And that’s not to say I’m not a fan of Bo Knicks, but clearly if you’re comparing Bo to Payton Manning, you’re trying to prove a point. I think that’s laughable. I really do. Um the games aren’t even comparable. Not even the style of play that they both play. But the NFL games, like the game is so much more catered to the offensive style now, to the quarterbacks nowadays. Whereas when Pton Manning was playing, you could absolutely annihilate wide receivers over the middle of the field. It was also a run first game no matter what back in the late 90s early 2000s. So I don’t want to hear for a second that Bo Nicks and Pton Manning’s numbers look side by side comparatively and and Bose is going to be just fine. We shouldn’t be basing Bo Knicks success off of Pton Mannings whatsoever. Here’s what we should be basing it off of. How he plays against bad defenses and how he plays against the middle of the pack or good defenses. Well, the Cowboys, Giants, and Bengals. The Giants have a de they have a good front seven. Their secondary is not good. The Cowboys have an atrocious defense. Same with the Bengals. Bow Knicks against bad defenses is really good. Bon Knicks against middle of the pack to slightly above average, not nearly as good. Not nearly as good. So, you got to figure it out because the rest of your schedule features good defenses. Producer Reed, correct me if I’m wrong. Kansas City Chiefs have a good defense. Green Bay Packers have a good defense. Los Angeles Chargers have a good defense. There you go. And by the way, you play the Raiders again in that time period. And we they showed you last night, they can play you well. They can play you tough. So now the true test of the NFL, the goalpost has been set now for the Broncos. It is now heading into the Chiefs game and moving forward. That is going to be the true test of what this team is. Period. Period. I was talking about it with all my bosses and my co-workers today. That’s the That’s the test. Now, let’s talk about Bose’s wos so far. We broke this down a little bit in the last episode, but the one thing that Bo can start to work on immediately is his footwork. Because his footwork, it’s just not good. He never gets set in the pocket. One of the true foundational pieces of a quarterback’s game is how his foundation looks, literally from the ground up. So, you got to you got to start working on your feet. You got to quiet your feet down. You got to get on the same page with your wide receivers. That means extra practice time going through exactly where the wide receiver needs to hit their mark. That will lead to better consistency in your play. And let’s be completely honest, the Broncos offensive line has been really good this year. So, he hasn’t been under a ton of pressure, but he does look a little bit reckless at times against the Blitz. And Bo knows this better than anybody. Bo sounded off on the Broncos offensive problems. This was last night after the Raiders game. We have to do better. At some point, 10 points is not going to be enough. We have to score more. Between the penalties and the sluggish football, we’re not playing very well. It starts with me. I have to be better. Then the rest of the guys will start following along. At least he’s taking accountability. I love to see that from my quarterback. Bonix is really good at the microphone. He’s got all the intangibles. He’s got all the leadership qualities that you want. He’s got everything that you’re looking for from that buttoned up. I’m the quarterback of this team and I’m not going to be swayed by emotional decisions. I’m going to put my best foot forward, take the blame where I need to take the blame. Mechanically speaking, X’s and O’s speaking, it starts with your feet. You’ve got to have that good foundation. And I think if you go back and watch the highlights against the Raiders and if you watch the game against the Jets and at time against the Eagles and the Giants and the Titans, Bo doesn’t set his feet. Bo is it’s like his mind is working faster than his body. He wants the play to go through. He wants the play to just get out there and and happen. But he’s got to realize that once you slow everything down in your mind, that’s when you start making good plays. There was a throw that he made against the Dallas Cowboys where it was a playaction fake. He sold the run really well. Kept the ball here, shuffled up the pocket, and then just delivered a nice layered football to the back of the end zone to Troy Franklin. It was a thing of beauty, and it looked effortless. That’s the Bon Knicks that we need to see. So, my biggest problem with Boon Knicks’s game this year so far has been his happy feet in the pocket. Got to work on your footwork. But you let me know in the comments section down below what you think Bose’s biggest issue is so far. That’s going to do it for us on today’s episode. A reminder to hit that sub button if you haven’t done so already. And all Oh, take two. A reminder, mile high salute. Be cool. [Music]

  1. I just rewatched the no fly zone mini documentary on youtube. Through that whole video, the defense was saying how they had to keep the broncos in games and they barely squeezed through alot of those games. In no way im saying this team goes to the superbowl but this isnt new to denver. Gove Bo and these recievers time to groe together. I wish fans would stop expecting these new players to be immediate superstar players.

  2. A 1st rnd pick for waddle??? Are you nuts???? I like you moose, but your way off the rails lately. We are winning games we should lose and your still not happy???? We are beating good teams , shut up and start focusing on the Ws

  3. I'm beginning to think that nix isn't running as much this year due to the back surgery he had….yes it was a minor surgery but something is keeping him from running……..he isn't even staying in the pocket like he should….he just scrambles and throws incompletions…..no one knows what the hell is going on with this offense

  4. So I wonder when. This guy is getting a 15 million dollar contract to head coach a team?? He has all of the answers!! He knows everything!! He likes analytics Here go check Elway Manning Josh Allen breed and a few others first 27 starts vs Bo I’m not gonna tell you look it up! Bo is 11/2 seasons into his career he’s facing arguably the hardest play book in the NFL with zero superstars to help him most of them are on their first or second season and everyone is wanting to replace Bo , he’s not the problem we are expecting a superbowl in the second season of a bunch of players careers and wanting to scrap it all if it doesn’t happen! Josh Allen was terrible for 3 seasons imagine if the team traded him , calm down let the team work it out shut ur mouth and watch football, or don’t ! I’m a true broncos fan who was there for Elways whole career I’m not a coach but I’ve seen an ok QB turning into a hall of fame QB I watched manning and brees do the same good thing nobody gave up on them!!

  5. OK you are 100% delusional, Payton had the single greatest season ever and it won't ever be broken. He also had 2 a days , that are gone now. Moose you have zero clue what your taking about, the pass happy NFL has been around since at least early to mid 2000s, Bo nix is a stud that is in his second year lol. You sound like every other idiot talking head.

  6. This young team is still maturing, and the expectations are insanely high. Give Payton one more draft class an another year before we expect to Broncos to be a dominate team. They are winning and I'm thrilled with the progress.

  7. Bo Nix is in his Sophomore year in a Sean Payton offense. Take a look at Drew Brees's 2nd year with Sean Payton and Drew was a 5 year veteran. He had 28 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. Again Drew was a 5 year NFL Quarterback. Through 10 games, Bo has 18 Touchdowns and 8 interceptions. It's NOT BO!! It's Sean Payton and his offensive scheme and Bo's receivers. I agree, Bo is thinking too much. But that's Payton and Joe Lombardi's fault. They have made it so complicated for Bo and the Bull Shit Payton did to Bo with all the hype he put on Bo in the beginning of the season, the kid is overwhelmed. Bo has serious talent. A lot of HOF quarterbacks had much worse 2nd years and this one isn't over yet. God, Terry Bradshaw was booed for his first 5 seasons. He ended winning 4 Super Bowls. Lets compare Elway's 2nd year. He played 15 games, passing for 2,598 yards with 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, Bo has 18 touchdowns in 10 games. I promise you, Dan Reeves did NOT have the size playbook Sean Payton has. SO… People RELAX!!! Show Bo some LOVE!! Help him get his confidence back and Not feel like people want to run him out of town.

  8. Also from a owner prospective have such a good scouting depatment it makes no sence to give away draft captital when in reality if we keep drafting the way we are this team will be good for a long time

  9. Isn’t it weird that the last two games they’ve seen not so good after a certain Mims went out last game and didn’t play this game? This just shows how really important Mims is.
