  1. As the longest tenured Knick, i would really miss him if he chooses to play for another team next year

  2. The rare situation where it’s better to keep the guy and lose him for nothing just because we need him in these playoffs

  3. So far Leon Rose hasn’t really let anyone just walk. If he thinks Mitch is gunna leave he will probably trade him

  4. When it comes to his contract Mitch is the trickiest to predict as he is one of our most impactful players while at the same time is injury prone. I don’t see a world where we offer him a multi year deal but I can see a team with cap space taking the risk. For the record I’m in the camp of resigning Mitch

  5. Which means he’s probably getting traded… There’s nothing this front office values more than team control… No way they are losing that salary slot for nothing

  6. As he should. He’s not gonna have a long career and should be looking for the biggest money possible.

I would love for him to stay, but I see it being unlikely. At least he’ll leave with a championship

  7. Can we trade him for iHart? Thunder may want an expiring contract.. and I’m deeply coping here can you not tell?

  8. Oh and all those downvotes I get when I said to trade him as soon as he got healthy. Here I’ll downvote myself on this comment.

  9. Good I hope he’s gone. The Knicks have established a new identity without him anyway. Good riddance!

  10. This dude is gonna go to some state with a lot of land to drive his truck around in. Mitch the Pacer if I had to guess

  11. I don’t want to trade him, he’s way too important to this season, and idk what you could get that would fill the hole he leaves

  12. Hope they trade him before he leaves cus he is made of glass and isn’t worth more than what he’s getting now.

  13. if we win a championship this season none of this really matters. id personally be set for the next decade. lets use mitch while we have him.

  14. If he stays healthy and plays well, we can re-sign him. No reason to panic; the dude is made of glass, he’s not getting max offers elsewhere.

This is not like Hartenstein, we’ll be able to retain him if both sides want.

  15. Mitch will sign a multi year contract. Especially if he proves his worth in the postseason.
The Knicks have set a precedent under Leon Rose of not fumbling the bag. Losing Mitch would be a fumble despite what the negative ball knowledge guys in this sub are saying.

  16. This is actually perfect for the Knicks really. He can see that other teams won’t give him a big to be hurt all year

  17. I do not care about the injury concerns, I just want to keep certain guys for life. Mitch is one of them. We took him as a 2nd round pick, developed him into a beast and he is one of the most impactful defensive players in the league (when healthy)

When it comes time, I honestly do not see why a deal is not done that’s good both sides. I do not see him as a money hungry guy he just wants a few lifted trucks and live a humble life, he is not going to push us to pay him a price we can’t pay imho
