“Try to make him bite one way.” | Connor Bedard Postgame 11.7.25

And yeah, I thought, you know, I’d try to read what uh I think it was for us. I don’t really remember what he was going to do and try to get my stick on the puck and was able to do that and then just kind of one-on-one with the goalie and um just try to make him bite one way and uh fortunately it kind of worked out for me. Look like you were flashing a four on the s there. Are you uh counting? No, it was a four. It wasn’t a four. It was it was a Sy, but not a not a four. You are now tied for the league lead in scoring with of all people Mlin Celibbrini. I mean, how how good does that feel? Um, yeah, it’s not really something I’m thinking about uh too much. Um, obviously it’s it’s a it’s a positive, I guess. And, uh, but it’s so early, I think, for me. It’s just keep keep growing my game, keep trying to, uh, get better in every area and, um, hopefully, you know, points keep coming and stuff and, um, that’d be great. But, uh, I just tried to take game by game. How fun is it just chucking pucks at Tyler Bertusi and watching him bang it? Yeah, it’s a it’s a good time. It’s, you know, he’s he’s so good at that. I think it looks easy. Um but it’s it’s really not, you know, that’s why not many guys can can do it as good as him. And uh he’s so good at making himself big and um getting a stick or leg or chest on it, whatever he has to do. And um you know, it’s fun for me to always have that as an option. And um you know, we’ll obviously try to try to find it if it’s there. If not, we’ll do something else. But uh you know, it’s fun to have him there. On this point scoring streak of yours right now, what’s what’s been going well for you? Um yeah, I think you know points are you know everyone everyone has a contribution in it and um you know I’m playing with great players that are making the game easy on me and um you know sometimes the points come sometimes they don’t and for me it’s just you know about the process and um getting chances making plays and uh that’s when they come. So um you know there’s going to be games where I don’t get any there’s going to be stretches where I don’t get any but uh just keep trying to you know keep trying to make plays and and be productive in that way and and hopefully they come. I know you played here in junior. Did you get up uh for playing in this building? Um in the NHL, every building’s kind of cool. Um but I think I was I was kind of saying, guys, you know, I like this rank a lot and um they’re like it’s pretty old and stuff, but um you know, it’s kind of fun cuz in junior it was like the coolest thing. You know, you’re playing NHL rank, your pregame’s getting NHL rank. uh you still kind of feel that a little bit and um you know for me I I enjoy it and um you know the crowd’s always good and fun so um you know it’s a good spot. How hard is it to see Frank go down like that in the first? Yeah, I mean he’s been so good every game this year. Such an impact for us and um you know obviously we’re thinking about him. Um you know we hope he’s he’s good and and but you know he’s a champ and if he can play he’s going to play and um but it’s good that we we were able to step up and get the win. But you obviously some we’re thinking about and checking in on and um you know we hope he’s he’s all good and ready to go in Detroit.

Connor Bedard discusses his four point night against Calgary and the team’s ability to step up and secure a win.
